I'm here...I started walking and with the Myfitnesspal app, I lost a couple of pounds...BUT I just had some chips :( Ahhh it's weekend

How's everyone doing? Thread has been quiet lately...

Hi Guys

IM sorry I've been awol. I was away with the dogs over Easter and school is just- well crazy :headache:

Any way whilst I was away I did visit the gym and swam every other day.

I weighed in this morning and Im down again a 1lb:thumbsup2

So far I've really only been exercising (swimming) and not really thought about the eating & drinking part so I'm going to try and include that now.

As work gets more stressful thats my downfall and its going to be crazy soon.

I keep thinking of the holidays though,-

Keep going you guys we can do it !!!

Hi everyone,

In addition to my lack of willpower when it comes to yummy food, I had a workout setback this weekend. I think it's hard to workout for awhile now, with a broken toe! Not good!!!

Oh Erika - I'm sorry to hear about your toe - I hope its not too painful. Hope you get better soon x:hug:

Congrats to all of you loosing weight. I have lost a pound. :thumbsup2 I really need to start running again, I didn't run for the last 3 weeks and I have another race this Sun.

This rain is killing my motivation to start running again-- still stuck inside doing videos at least through the wknd. Yuck!

Congratulations to all those who have lost weight. I am not in that category but I am exercising every day (almost) & I am feeling like it is paying off.

Erika, I hope your toe heals fast.

Hi Guys

How r u doing? Think I'm going to go to bed soon as Ive had a good day , but I'm tired and fancy some candy.
If I go to bed I'll avoid the temptation .

Hope u have a good weekend x

So, it is the start of a new month and we are closer to our cruise. I have fallen off the wagon this week and have not exercised at all this week. But, I plan on getting back on my grind. I like the results I am seeing (even if the scale is not moving) so I know I want to keep it up.

Alright....can I join you guys? I will admit to the fact that I am totally struggling.

I have been doing WW for 1 year and 5 months now. I had lost 48 pounds. I looked and felt really good when I went to WDW in February. Training for the 1/2 marathon really helped me.

Now, I have gained 12 pounds. I have a 1/2 marathon on Sunday but really do not feel like I have trained well for it with my eating or my exercise. I know I will complete the 1/2 but really....I am more upset about the weight gain.

I will not blame it on muscle because it is not. My clothing is getting tight again and I feel like I need to go back to what I knew - tracking everything and figuring out how to exercise every day again.

I just do not want a repeat of our last cruise where I hate almost every photo I was in. :confused3

I hit 25 lbs. on Tuesday, but my losses have been small lately, .2 or .6...hoping to lose an average of 1 lb a week until the cruise.

Jen, I know exactly how you feel. I hate looking at myself in pictures. It's ironic that even when I had lost a lot of weight back in 2003 I still considered myself heavy and didn't recognize myself in the mirror or pictures. I have more years being slimmer than heavy so I don't know why I still have this negative self image of myself. I think the only way I can make it work this time is to keep going to WW and being accountable. As much as I don't want to admit that I can't do it on my own I think I have to keep going to meetings to stay on track. I do find that weeks I incorporate more fruit I do lose more.

We went to MA this weekend and I started picking in between meals. It's like I crossed the state line and all I knew went out the window.:confused3 not a good sign of what's to come for my pre-cruise stay at Disney and then the temptation of all you can eat onboard.

So fellow 8/16 cruisers, we are under 3 months now, Memorial Day has passed. Time to get serious. WE CAN DO THIS!!! :grouphug:

I fell off the wagon big time with being healthy in general, but I'm getting back on it! Tomorrow my sister and I are going to join the gym, and I'm ready to get into shape and get healthy!

Marsha,
Are you doing WW?

I am not on WW now. I was on it about two years ago and did well. I am just trying to eat less and exercise more. However, since I was planning and hosting a cookout for Memorial Day, I have not been doing what I had been doing since last Wednesday. I have not exercised since last Tuesday. I am using the EA Sports Active program for the Wii in the mornings, following the 9week schedule, and have been seeing results. So, now I have to get motivated to start exercising again. Lately, I just can't seem to get out of bed early enough but, I have to do it.

Let's get motivated. :cheer2: We can do it!

10 weeks to the cruise!

We finally started Couch-to-5K this weekend, so we still have time to get it in before the CC 5K! It wasn't to bad on Sunday--though I didn't realize that the route I chose had so many hills! :headache: About 2.5 mi in all, as we did some extra walking to make up for the hills, but not too bad! Definitely a feeling of accomplishment! :woohoo:

Even DP was happy that she was able to complete it--she hasn't run since high school and I'm not sure she really believed she could do it until we finished. :thumbsup2

We'll see how the run today goes! I need to find a new route and get it in before the heat kicks up tomorrow. Hopefully this will all translate into a few lost pounds... without a scale I think I'll have to get out the Wii fit to keep track.

I went back on Jenny Craig yesterday and vowed to work out 4X/week at least. So far so good - 2 days in a row. 10 weeks is not enough time to lose 15 pounds, but I'll do my best.

What is this couch to 5K? I've been walking Mon-Fri after I drop the kids off in the morning and since last week I've tried to add a little jogging to it. I've never been a runner, but each day I can go a bit farther which has me giving myself a mental pat on the back. I'll never be ready for CC5K but we'll see if I can work up the nerve to enter a local one by fall. My right hip has been hurting though since starting...probably not a good thing?

Woobie-you can totally lose 15 by cruise time and if you don't then you're xx pounds lighter than when you started.

Yes--Couch to 5K:
http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml

You can definitely be ready for the CC 5K--the plan has you running the whole 5K in 9 wks, and the cruise is 10 wks away. The idea is to work up slowly with intervals of walking and jogging. If you are already doing that, you should be fine!

If your hip is hurting make sure to check your form (do you favor one side, or only make righthand turns) and consider looking up some hip and hip flexor stretches. If you go easy, you should be fine--just slow down if it hurts.

We made a wrong turn today trying to avoid the biggest hills and ended up doing 2.75 mi... oops! But we made it, which was awesome! Next time out is Friday--hopefully the heat will have broken by then.
