Good morning all!! Well, Jordan now has spots all over her:confused3 , the doctor said that is the natural course of the infection, she hasn't had the real high fever (knock on wood) since Thursday. She has a form of Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease- ulcers in her mouth, uggghhhh- where the heck did she get it, school- the same school I'm paying for her to go to.:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

HI,

I am sorry to hear about DD! I just to work in daycare and I even came down with this disease!:scared: At first I thought I was allergic to shellfish as I had eaten crab legs early that day. My fingertips were all red and painful. The next day, my toes felt the same way and I felt like I had chancre sores in my mouth. It was not fun. Needless to say they gave me Valtrex to take and it took quite some time to go away. The blisters were under my skin and took weeks to work themselves to the surface and heal. I had no spots on my body....just fingers, toes and gums. Has the doctor prescribed anything for her? I found Valtrex helped ease the symptoms. I was off work for a week or so as it is highly contageous. Hope she is better soon!

Hello everyone!!!! its been a while since i was on here. its been very crazy around here. i've been doing alot of college planning and now im so stressed out. but the good thing to lower my stress level is no homework:rotfl:!!!!!!!! i have my second road test on October 7th at 8:30am so im missing regular school then going right to my other school. the first time i took the road test in the drivers ed car, now i think im taking it in ither my moms van or my dads buick. well i hope you all had a great weekend!!! i gotta get back to writing all these essays:surfweb: !!!

Oh,, gosh I hope he can help get her better when he calls you back!!!!!!!

The doctor said to give her Benadryl for the itching, it did seem to help- as she hasn't been scratching. He said to call him tomorrow, and he wants to see her again. She won't eat though, and we are barely getting her to drink anything, I told her if she doesn't drink- she will have to go the hospital and get needles because she'll ger dehydrated. She is sleeping now, hopefully when she wakes up, she will eat or drink something.:scared1: :scared1:

He prescribed an antibiotic. The wierd thing is that the spots are all over her body:confused3 . , and everything I saw about hand, foot, and mouth is saying just those parts. :confused3 :confused3 When he sees her tomorrow, maybe he can figure out if it is something else. The spots weren't there when he saw her last.

Nikki,

How is Jordon feeling???!

 We finally got the prognosis- Gingivostomatitis- basically a form of Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease- which causes a high fever and mouth ulcers. She also had an allergic reaction to the antibiotic that he gave her- hence the hives and blisters in her mouth. That is why she was so miserable- she basically had double the mouth sores. Now she is off the antibiotics, and on a prescription similiar but stronger than benadryl. The hives are slowly fading on her, and she actually ate some soft foods, and drank alot today. The doctor was very concerned about dehydration- but I think she is definately getting better now. :goodvibes How is everyone else doing??

Hope she feels better soon.... I attended a seminar this week on antibiotic use/overuse/mis-prescribed, etc. and the long-term health effects, yadda yadda yadda.... How long is she going to be out of school for?
