HI,
I am sorry to hear about DD! I just to work in daycare and I even came down with this disease!
At first I thought I was allergic to shellfish as I had eaten crab legs early that day. My fingertips were all red and painful. The next day, my toes felt the same way and I felt like I had chancre sores in my mouth. It was not fun. Needless to say they gave me Valtrex to take and it took quite some time to go away. The blisters were under my skin and took weeks to work themselves to the surface and heal. I had no spots on my body....just fingers, toes and gums. Has the doctor prescribed anything for her? I found Valtrex helped ease the symptoms. I was off work for a week or so as it is highly contageous. Hope she is better soon!

We finally got the prognosis- Gingivostomatitis- basically a form of Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease- which causes a high fever and mouth ulcers. She also had an allergic reaction to the antibiotic that he gave her- hence the hives and blisters in her mouth. That is why she was so miserable- she basically had double the mouth sores. Now she is off the antibiotics, and on a prescription similiar but stronger than benadryl. The hives are slowly fading on her, and she actually ate some soft foods, and drank alot today. The doctor was very concerned about dehydration- but I think she is definately getting better now.

It would be awesome if you could get in.
