8/10/2008 - Mexican Party Cruise - Who's Here??

We are all set!
This is my last posting befor Disney Vacation.

We are leaving at noon from my home.
2 days stay at DGCH.

See you soon Every body!!!

We will see you in 3 days! Have a safe trip!

Anyone else worried about their kids being "shy" at the DisMeet?

With only 2 days left, I can't let us stay on page 2.:rolleyes1

I really need a swift kick in the rear...I cannot seem to get motivated to pack.:headache: I have started...sort of...I've packed the stuff for my kid's baskets in the rolling cooler and I put some swim trunks on top to pack later. But I may have to rearrange so I can put the bottled water in the cooler...I was hoping I could check the case with the porters, but I see there are mixed messages regarding that. I have all the FE stuff in the same general vicinity, but none of it is packed. I haven't even started with clothes. DH did bring the suitcases in though. :thumbsup2

I'm going shopping with my mom and future SIL for a mother of the groom dress tomorrow (for my mom). Wish us luck! I'm hoping we get lucky so I can get home early and *really* get packing.

We're Here!!!

Arrived in our room around midnight at the Grand Californian. I understand what other people say. It's a great hotel but it isn't the Grand Floridian. More like a cross between Wilderness Lodge (for obvious reasons) and Yacht Club - not in decor but in feel (just a personal opinion because we really like the YC).

Kids only slept until 5:30 :scared1: because both got a lot of sleep on plane. I could have slept another hour or so but it's all good.

We have 8 a.m. reservations at Goofy's Kitchen and then off to the parks!

See you all in 2 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a reminder in case anyone is lurking. We are meeting at the Promenade Lounge at 2:45 p.m. just in advance of the boat drill.

I grew up in Pasadena. I hope you enjoyed it there!

YES< it has been VERY hot and humid this week. It has actually been the worst week, weather wise, of the summer!

I told my DH that this will get us ready for the heat and humidity in Mexico.

Thanks Andrea,
Legoland was not as bad, but still humid. I enjoyed the scenery driving around Pasadena. The mountains were so so beautiful with the summer greens. If we ever moved to LA, I want to live in the Pasadena area, IF we could afford, that is.

Two more days, and still shopping. :scared1: We need slippers, special batteries, and my DH's rush guard. Gas is cheaper, but all the others are a bit more expensive than Nor Cal.

Lastly, I checked the weather:
Cabo - not so good
Maz - Thunder storm
PV - WET

We are hoping we see the ship from I-5 coast line tomorrow.

:grouphug: to my friends

We were far down on page 2! I know we will be there forever next week! Not this one though.

I actually started packing today. I had a hard time starting too! I have no idea why. I have been looking forward to this trip since January 31, 2007~

See you soon!\\

we'll be at the port late so we will look forward to meeting everyone at the 2:45 p.m. Promenade Lounge meet. Disney Transportation pickup at the Grand californian is not until 12:20. I don't know why but it's worth it to have our luggage handled completely.

Yep! Me too...finally. :lmao: I think I have the boys mostly packed. DH has laid out his clothes, so I need to pack them in the suitcases. I need to decide how best to pack our case of water, my boys gift baskets and the FE gifts. The clothes are the easy part. I'm getting there though. Hopefullly it means I won't be up all night tomorrow.

It's almost time though...:jumping1:

Bon Voage to all of you!

My DD (Emily) is on this cruise - along with her new husband (Omri) - they are on their honeymoon. :goodvibes

I hope all of you have a wonderful cruise.:wizard:

I am finally finished packing! I will see you all tomorrow. My kids' allergies are acting up. I will be packing the Claritin. Maybe the new environment will help with the allergies. I hope so.

I can't wait to meet all of you!

Hey all!
It was great meeting many of you. Ayumi and Karen, I'm sorry we never got to meet. That was my only disappointment on a great cruise. Thanks to all for the great fish extender goodies. You folks have much better ideas than me but now I have some great ideas for the next cruise. Special hello to Suzcruz. We really enjoyed the martini tasting with you and your DH. It sure seems like he is no longer the reluctant cruiser!!!!!

Hi Jeff! Nice to know you are back home safely.

I am really really sorry we missed THE meeting. We got to the ship really late and by the time we got to our room it was almost already the time for the drill.

My kids really loved the FE exchange both receiving and doing rounds. Thank you for those of you who came all the way down to the "dungeon" to put wonderful and thoughtful stuff. (We actually loved our room since it was right above the exit/entrance way at the port.

I, too enjoyed going around for FE. Because of this event, I have met a couple of the greatest stewards. If I am remembering correctly, they were working all day all night around 5000 & 7000. They were so friendly and fun when my steward was very very professional yet too serious, so we did not get to talk to him as much as we wanted to.

Anyway, again, thanks so so much!
And thank you, Jeff, for organizing this amazing event.

Lastly, those of you who did not have chance to join it, please do so on your next cruise. You do not have to do rounds, just put up your FE or even a simple bag. I promise you, it will add another special moment to your cruise memory. :grouphug:

BTW,

When you have a chance, be sure to check out Andrew DEREK UK's 8/17 repo trip report. It will refresh your fresh memory from our trip! He has reached Cabo today. :thumbsup2

Hi Everybody!:wave2: Hope everyone is doing good...as good as you can be now that that wonderful cruise is over :sad1:. Me and my daughter had a great time as I am sure everone did! Now we are both on countdown mode for next August! Nothing like wishing our time away!

I hope everyone had as great a trip as we did. It was nice to meet as many of you as we did at the gathering. It made for a lot of familiar, friendly faces around the decks.:cloud9:

Thank you for all of the wonderful FE gifts.:goodvibes My boys were so excited to check our fish extender everyday to see what was waiting for them. SOOO many things were hits with them. We also enjoyed making all of our deliveries around the ship. It was a nice opportunity to explore different floors and areas of the ship. Karen, your room was always our last stop before heading to Topsiders, loved the back door "secret" entrance. :thumbsup2

We just learned that Noah's friend and soccer teammate is on the EB Repo. I am so jealous.;)

So, who rebooked onboard for their next cruise??? We rebooked for Nov 2009 and I am kicking myself now for not booking 2 dates...one for next year and one to transfer to 2010 when the itineraries are released.:headache:

Hello
We were back home safely.
We were very sorry that we were not able to meet all of you.
That was our disappointment on this Magical trip.

We are also countdown mode for next August(2009) Disney Cruise.

I was glad to participate in this thread.
Thank you so mach.

See you again!

Hi all! We reached home about 11:25 AM on Monday! And Jenni and I have been sick... sore throat, nose thing, chest congestion... ever since!!! AAAAHHH!!! It was great meeting you all and Jenni had lots of fun delivering and receiving gifts in the "mailboxes"... as Jenni called them!!!!She cried and cried on Saturday night when nothing was in our FE so I gathered some of the already received gifts and put the back into our FE so she could take them out once more! The problem... now she thought she had 2 of everything!!!!!:goodvibes
We did not rebook. Honestly, this was our 10th cruise and first on DCL. We have cruised with NCL, RC, Carnival and Princess in the past and we did not think that DCL was worth the extra $$$$$ we paid. The shows were great! The characters were awesome... the Lobster was bigger... but it was lots more $$$$ not just a little. I am sure we will cruise DCL again in the future but it won't be soon.

We are counting down to WDW in December 2008, April 2009, and July 2009!
