8/10/2008 - Mexican Party Cruise - Who's Here??

I did :laundy: today... so I WILL start packing tomorrow! Better yet... Jenni decided tonight that she was staying overnight at her Grammy and Dappy's tonight! So now I will be able to get most of it done in the morning. She is almost 33 months and I can't believe that she has this little mind that makes these BIG decisions! Here I am at 34 years old and I can't decide what to pack to go on a Disney vacation!!!:rotfl:
Of course, I still have to clean the house, get a few staple groceries, put fresh sheets on last minute and do my trial size walmart run. That's what I get for having a house/dog sitter! I actually have to clean to go on vacation!:confused3

Happy Saturday, everyone! :goodvibes

Stress is building in our household - only 3 more days till the kids and I head south. We are trying to pack waaay too much stuff, and it's strewn everywhere, compounded by boxes of stuff from our move. DH has finally admitted that he has to bring more than one pair of shoes (yes, he tried to justify wearing athletic shoes for formal night!). DS9 keeps unpacking his clothes to wear them. DS22mo keeps trying to pack his entire menagerie of stuffed animals into my suitcase. Whew. I don't know if I'm packing or UNpacking more.:confused3

Either I'll be so exhausted that all I can do is sleep, or I'll be so hopped up on coffee that I'll be awake 24/7!

This is too funny! My DH thinks that he can wear his athletic shoes everywhere too but since I am doing all of his packing, he is bringing 5 pairs with him for the trip.:thumbsup2

My DD loves her stuffed animals also. She used to bring half of her collection with her on every trip. This year though, she is only allowed to bring 2 - 3 with her. I know that she will want to buy another tuffed animal once we are on the ship or at DL and it all takes up space in the luggage. :)

So, for those of you who have started packing, what is your strategy? I don't even know where to begin. :confused3 I had intended to get a good start this weekend since I have to work all week and then we have appts for hair, nails and eyes next Saturday. Poor planning on my part, for sure. It doesn't help that I came down with a cold last night and I feel yucky!:sad2: Hopefully the rest of the family stays healthy while I recover. I'm sure I'll be fine by next week, I just don't want it to drag on for anyone else.

I think I'd be more excited if I wasn't feeling so stressed. :scared1:

See you all soon!

D'Anne:cutie:

Hi D'Anne,

Hope you are feeling better! It is better that you got sick this week though than next wee while we are on the cruise!

My strategy for packing for the cruise is to start with all of the clothes you will need for dinner. I'm a stay at home mom during the summer, hubby works for a company that provides him a uniform and the kids won't be wearing any dressy clothes during that time frame. That takes up an entire suitcase! I pack all of the rest as we get closer to leaving. My daughter is at camp until Friday, so I can finish packing her today.

Good luck everyone!

I have started the packing!!!!!! I now have stuff EVERYWHERE... in very chaotic piles that no one but me understands!!! :)

Of course, while picking out clothes for my 33 month old... I decided to clean out her closet and drawers and pack away 3 bags of clothes that won't fit. I have decided that I could save a lot of money if I would just stop buying her clothes.

You and me both. The whole problem is is that it is so easy to buy clothes for them. You don't even have to try the clothes on them and you know that they are going to look cute in them. princess:

Good morning, all, and Happy Monday! I can't believe the kids and I will be at Disneyland tomorrow afternoon!:cool1: One more day!:yay: :yay: :yay:

D'Anne, I hope you feel better soon. Better sick this week than next.

Michelle, I guess I'd better doublecheck DH's bag in case he didn't really pack the appropriate shoes. I should have done it for him - great idea. Last night I saw a pair of brown loafers out and thought Oh no, he's not planning to wear those with his suit, is he?!:scared1:

I think I've overstimulated the economy lately. We now have all sorts of travel essentials that I never knew we needed.

My packing strategy is a squirrel-it-away approach. I've been stashing toiletries, etc. for months. Clothes that I knew we wouldn't wear (like dinner clothes) got set aside first. A week ago I pulled everything else. No one noticed - we clearly have too much clothing! Even with this, I was up, packing, till 3:00 this morning! It was the only way to pack without DS22mo underfoot. DSalmost9 was so excited about the trip and his birthday (Wed.) that he, too, stayed up until 3 a.m. :faint: I guess he'll sleep well in the car tomorrow. Now all that's left are the FE, FE gifts, door magnets, and food for our road trip. :drive: Woohoo!

mom2pirateNpooh,

the jcpenney near me has an eyeglass place, but i'm not sure if they have one near anaheim.

re packing, my DH & DD will look great but so far, have not packed a thing for myself yet, hoping to do so today!

I have a problem buying my DD clothes too! I work part-time as a teacher pretty much just to fund my kid's clothes. I also have a bow problem. I order a bow to match each of her outfits. I drive DH crazy.

Why are we always last? I do the same thing.

My DH has got the cases down from the attic - and that's it. No packing, no clothing lists, nothing done - YET!!! :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

I knew I wasn't the only one with this problem!!!:goodvibes My daughter actually will take my hand and say "come on Momma . let's shop at Gymboree.com." It crack me up!

:sad1: Had a super bad day today. :sad2: Our agency that we are adopting from Taiwan with just out of the blue emailed all of their families today to tell us that due to the economy and the closing of many of their international adoption programs that they are closing. That's that.
And to top it all off... this BIG problem consumed my whole day and now I only have may daughter's clothes together!!!! And I have an interview tomorrow AM at 8:30 am for an extracurricular job at the school that I don't even really want! AAAAHHHH!!!! I need a vacation away from reality really bad!!!! I can't take any more stress. Our flights better go very smoothlike!:scared:

Well we leave in 5 days and I still have the suitcases in the shed and I need to iron and pack:scared1: . I think my son is getting in his 2 yr. molars and I think he has allergies :confused3 so it has been an interesting past couple of days. I am hoping to get some sleep tonight and maybe be able to lie down and take a nap tomorrow when he does:scared1: . I still need to reserve a ride to the airport and kick my kids in gear to get their things packed. I am soooooo ready for this vacation and then school to start when we get back:teacher: . I am going to get the last load out of the dryer for tonight and I will have 2 more tomorrow and who knows how many more this week:laundy: :laundy: :laundy: What a life:laughing: (I wouldn't change it for a thing:love: )See you all soon and pixiedust: to all of you that are still getting ready to go.

I used to have that same problem with Gymboree! Since my daughter is older now though, she now says let's shop at the Limited II or Justice, Old Navy or Children's Place!

Limited Too. All the time. I try so hard to buy DD9 preppie clothes but she just smiles and says "dad...that's not my style!" :lmao:

Ok! I had a cruise dream last night. In my dream I missed our meet! I was hanging out at the sail away party and then realized I missed our meet!!!!!

I am already stressing about making the meet! I haven't packed a THING!

Don't feel bad...I think I'm in denial...haven't packed a thing...haven't pulled out the suitcases...haven't updated a list. I am admittedly the worst procrastinator ever. Oh, and I threw out all DS4s pants (most had holes in the knees), so I have to make sure he still has clothes suitable for dinner. :headache:

In five days, none of it will matter anymore as we'll be so close to boarding the Magic!:woohoo:
D'Anne

Leaving tomorrow and I still have not packed!!:scared1: I have piles of stuff all over my bedroom but that is the extent of it! Right now I a busy dodging the rain from Eduard that decided to come visit us! Airport is cancelling flights today and tomorrow so I keep watching ours! Our flight is pretty full and not until later in the day so hopefully it will be good! One more day I am sooooo ready!
