8/10/2008 - Mexican Party Cruise - Who's Here??

cool thread. Great report! I enjoyed reading it.. and have I meantioned that I am a counting down the days as 2 and 1/2 until my summer officially begins and the teacher in ME is off!!!!!:)

Sounds like you all had a great time and you are great at delivering suprises!

Karen -your report is awesome. I can't wait to meet you and join you in a glass of the Fairytale Cuvee. One of my favorite moments is my nightly visit to the Promenade Lounge late night for a glass of bubbly.

Thank you for your kind comments, Jeff. :goodvibes See you in the Promenade Lounge... ;)

Glad you enjoyed it! :thumbsup2 Wow! Just two and a half days until freedom - enjoy!!! :cloud9:

I've finally finished the flippin' trip report! :woohoo: It's dominated my week and I've been sat around tap-tapping away on my laptop for more hours than I care to mention! :rotfl2:

So I'm back to the gym tomorrow and back to focusing on losing a few pounds for our upcoming cruise! Fingers crossed and all that... ;)

I hope everyone has a good weekend - the weather here has been gorgeous and I need it to continue into next week as I really should pretty up our patio area for the rest of the summer...

Next weekend is Father's Day here and the following weekend is my birthday! party: We're combining both parental celebrations and going out for dinner with the family on June 21st - can't wait... :goodvibes

Just giving us a little *bump* as we were on page 2...

So fellow Mexican cruisers. Are we going to have a DIS meet after embarking? I've been to 3 so far (2 in the Promenade Lounge just before the drill and one on Deck 10 at the party). I prefer the Promenade before the drill because by the time the party starts, it's tougher to corral people. My kids sometimes like to go down front to enjoy the dancing and if they are there, so am I...so we'd miss a meet there.

Now it's not like we are going to have 100 people. I'm thinking we'll have 4 or 5 families max with the way this thread has been going.

Any opinions?

We've been to 2 (shoulda been 3 but it was our first time on the Wonder and we missed it! :headache: ) One Prom Lounge and one by the Goofy pool - both were circa 3pm. :thumbsup2 TBH we're happy to fit in with whatever suits everyone else, Jeff... :goodvibes

Just for the record folks....ONLY TWO MONTHS until our cruise.

Ok go back to what you were doing! :)

WOW... 2 months to go and we got new flights to LAX an hour ago!!!! I checked our flight status and the times changes on our departing flight AND connecting flight. The time changes left us with 20 minutes to get us and a two year old to a connecting flight. That's a can't do! So we called C0ontinental and now we are on a 6:40 AM flight instead of a 10:15 AM flight! That means we are at LAX by 11 AM versus 2:30 PM! I know that we will be excited but I hope I am not too tired that first day to enjoy our new extra found Disney Park time!:woohoo:

I know it is a late arrival, but pls. count us in!

We are first time cruiser parents with DS(6) & DD(4) from San Jose and have started packing & shopping.

My shopping journal #1:
Just bought a pirate costume for my DD on disneystore.com. It was on sale for $17.99 and was $44.

Happy 1 month & 29 days to go day!!

:welcome: aboard!!!

Nice to have you with us - I'm Karen and I'm sailing with DH and DS15... :thumbsup2

yay, less than 2 months to go!

wanted to let you all know that when i originally booked the above excursion at 75 days out, i could only get the 1230pm slot which kind of breaks up the day. So, following the advice of this board, i have been checking the excursions every few days and a new timeslot has appeared (845 am), which i immediately took. It is kind of weird because the MR navigators for the May 25th cruise indicate that the first tender is not until "approx. 9:15 am." Hopefully, this will not be a problem.

Still no openings for Palo brunch though.

Anyway, hope this info is helpful.

Tomorrow, I am off to be a chaperone on my daughter's 4th grade field trip to CA Adventure & looking forward to doing some Disney shopping!

PS i agree with Jeff that if we meet we should do so before the sailaway party, in a place convenient to leave & go the party. Also, Karen, loved your report!!!

Another latecomer here...bringing another 4 year old to the club. It will be me, my husband, DS 7 and DS 4 travelling. This will be our second Disney cruise and we are sooo excited.:dance3: We did a four night cruise on the Wonder in 2006 and had a fabulous time.

I booked that too. Are you doing the dolphin encounter or the swim? We were booked as a family for the 2:30 encounter and that was the earliest I could get at 90 days out. They must have added more times. I started looking for the dolphin swim recently and there weren't any spaces in Cabo. I almost changed our reservations to PV since they had times available. Just this week I found the new time and changed my DS 7 and I to the dolphin swim at 8:45am and booked DH and DS 4 to the encounter at the same time. I'm looking forward to getting off the ship earlier. I figure they must make arrangements for us since it's a Disney excursion. Now I just hope my DS 7 doesn't chicken out.:worried:

Have fun at DCA. I'm jealous.;)

This is like a new world's record. Two new families. Nearly a page of posts. We must be getting closer to sailing! WELCOME CA Mom!

Thanks so much for the warm welcomes!!:chewy:

jd99, are you originally from Pgh, PA? I went to college in Pittsburgh and lived there for three years. It was such a beautiful city. I loved it, but it was just too far from my home town. It took me 24 hours from my dorm room door to my parents house. So I moved to Silicon Valley. It only takes 10 hours to get to my parents or 6 hours to DCL port in LA!!

My shopping journal #2:
Bought some goodies for those of you who have FE!

Happy 1 month & 28 days to go day!!:ccat:

I have been wondering and I think someone asked earlier and I was waiting to see a response:rolleyes1 . What are the fish extenders (?) everyone is talking about? The last time I we went to Mexico :beach: we had a Dis meetparty: and everyone brought something and just put in a bag that had the Dis members name on it. I am not sure what the fish thing is though  I would like to participate but I am fish stupid all the way around I guess:fish: .
I can't believe my kids last day of school is in 9 days they are :yay: I am not ready for that!!!! And Mexico is .......60 days away well we are going the day before to Cali. so only 59 days away.....:cool1: :dancer: party: it seems like yesturday that we had forever until we go.

Well until then it is :laundy: :drive: the kids everywhere dance, work, gym I hope I don't go . Until next time:wave: pixiedust: to all!!!!

Hi bcnb103!
This thread explains it all!! I just found out about it yesterday and went through this thread over night.
oops! I cannot post a link yet.
Go back to "Disney Cruise Line Forum" and try search with words "fish extenders" and you will look for the one with 25 pages of posts.
When I finish reading it, it was 3 am... :ccat:

It is called "Fish" extenders, because they are hanged on the fish shaped hook at the next to your state room door.

My shopping journal #3:
Bought third Lesportsac ex lg weekender to fit under the bed.

P.S.
My kids are out of school today (DS6@12:20 :worried:) and tomorrow(DD4). TOOOOOOO early. Then next comes summer school payments...:(
