I know what you mean about the snow Mandy.

I couldn't get over it either. I knew there would be snow but I wasn't expecting THAT much snow still :faint:

What is happening in your part of the world today Mandy.

I have to pick Liz up soon and take her to her dentist appointment.

After that I'm not sure what I'm going to do but I have tons of things that I could do.

Hey Robin

It is a beautiful day today, it has been around 68F and me and the girls have been sitting out in the garden sunbathing

It is supposed to stay like this for a couple more days - so we are all happy bunnies over here

I hope it's nice where you are

Mandy :)

It's a chilly day here today. It has started to rain too.

Well, you remember the picture that I posted of my nice new car:thumbsup2

The front end of it is not so nice anymore:guilty:

Some lady decided not to stop before pulling out of a parking lot and ran into me head first

The funny thing is that I saw her coming to the end of the parking lot and thinking........ better watch out for that car, look at all the dents in the side of it:scared1:

Well, now there are more dents in the front end of it :rotfl2:

Actually there is not a lot of damage on the front of my car, mainly the bumper but I can just imagine how much it will cost to have it fixed. I have contacted the insurance company already and am waiting to hear back from them.

Why is that someone feels they must hit the new car :sad2: Couldn't they have hit the old one.

The lady didn't have much sense of humour either. I wasn't mad at her but she didn't respond to any attempts on my part to lighten the mood. She didn't want to say anything at all.

She did get a ticket out of it though.

 Oh No Robin - I can't believe someone ran into your new car. You sound OK, so I take it you were alright ??

I hope you manage to get it fixed quickley, what a nuisance :sad2:

Mandy :)

Yes, I am fine and Liz was with me too and she is okay.

Actually I think that I was at a total stop by the time the other car hit me, so the impact was not really hard.

Another two feet over and she would have missed me completely.

Aw well, such is life.

Good morning Mandy.

It looks like I will be making a last minute trip to Florida at the beginning of May.

Last year we went to Lakeland Florida for this prestigious model airplane event that a good friend of ours was flying in.

He's flying again this year with a different airplane that his dad took 20 plus years to build.

Rick has said all along that he was not interested in going this year, nope, not gonna do it.

Now all of a sudden he has decided that yes he really does want to go after all.

So bonus for me, another trip to Florida. No Disney involved and we will likely be flying into Tampa. But sunshine and warmth, sounds really great to me.

I will be gone from Wed May 2 to Sunday May 6.

Oooh lucky you Robin, after all that snow, I think you could do with some sunshine :thumbsup2

Hey everyone ;)

I hope you are all OK, are you doing anything nice this weekend ? We haven't got anything special planned

Have a good weekend

Mandy :)

Good Morning everyone!....:surfweb:

I woke up with a cold today...So I'm not feeling the greatest...Nothing big...Just alot of sneezing and stuffy nose:sick: ...Just a pain to deal with...I'm sure it will pass in due time!...;)

Its warmer here today, but very rainny so far....Im not sure what its suppose to be like today....BUT Sunday night into Monday we are suppose to get like a half of a foot of snow AGAIN!....:sad1:

Im suppose to walk today...But I dont think its going to happen...by the looks of things out there....Oh well I still have the trusty treadmill....:thumbsup2

OHhhh..I bought a couple of bottles of a wine (LOVED IT!), from the cruise, the sisters bought for Ann and she kindly shared with the table!....Its sold at my liquer store!...:yay:
Here its called "Rosa Regale"! The other name that I was given was the Italian makers name( which is all labled on the back of the bottle) ....
Everyone I talked to in the wine buisness, just raves about it....Of course its more expensive then I would normally pay for a bottle of wine....But I splurged this week on it...
My DM is visiting with my sister this weekend ..So Mike and I are going to have a nice quiet, Friday night ...with some wonderful wine and maybe a good movie....We will have to see whats availlable...Any recommendation's?
It has to be out for rent..:confused3

and where oh where have the sisters gone?...... ..

Robin,
Going to Fla. AGAIN...???? LUCKY DUCK!:yay:
 .Ya know you would save alot on airfair ...if ya just moved down there....:thumbsup2 ...:rotfl:
I'll join ya!....We could be neighbor's! .....

Well I have got to get some laundry started....:laundy: ..

So as Arnold would say..."I'll be back".... :teeth:

Hey Betsy

Sorry to hear that you've got a cold, I hope you're feeling better soon.

What kind of wine is it that you've bought, I love white wine and Rose, but not red. Have fun with your wine and movie night, sorry I can't really recommend any good films as the best film I've seen of late was Pirates of the Caribbean 2.

This year should be a good year for movies, we've got Pirates 3, Spider Man 3and the third 'Bourne' movie is out in August (I love Matt Damon:love: :rotfl2: )

Have a nice relaxing weekend

Mandy :)

Hi girls

It's a beautiful, sunny day here today, and it makes me so much more happier knowing that the Summer is on it's way

My friend Kathy (momx4,grandmax4) is getting on the Disney Wonder today, I am so jealous, I wish it was me (and you lot too :thumbsup2 :rotfl2: )

Have a great day

Mandy :)

Isn't she the one who posted how much fun you are on this thread? I'm a little jealous too! Guess she's home by now!

Sorry I haven't been posting so much. We've been very busy with home/school/work. We purchased Busch Gardens season passports and went last Friday...boy was it cold riding those roller coasters:cold:

How are the girls doing?

I am copying and pasting this from the Threadkiller thread because I'm too lazy to type it all out again. SOOOOO if you frequent both threads, you can skip this post :lmao:

So, I'm back from the land of ice and snow :cold:

We left about 6:45am Friday and started our long journey.

We drove thru nice weather and then much snow and wind and drifting swirling snow. It was very, very nasty. I've seen enough snow now to last me for 5 years.

We almost ran out of gas because we underestimated the distance between gas stations.

Travelling up in the north in the winter is not like travelling down the I75;) There are huge distances between gas stations and not much else in between them.

We arrived at Alex's apartment about 10:15pm. We hung around there for a bit and shortly after 11 Rick and I left Liz at Alex's and headed for our room at the bed and breakfast nearby. I had stayed there in the fall when I helped Alex move north. It was a wonderful place, very nice, warm friendly couple, great breakfast, loved it.

We get there and there is nobody there :scared1: What the heck is this all about?? Ring the door, nope, check the door and it is locked. There are lights on in the kitchen but obviously no one is home.

So I try calling and get the answering machine. I leave a message and we head back to Alex's. What do we do now? Alex's place is way to small, nowhere for 4 people to sleep. You wouldn't want to set foot in any of the motels in this very small northern town, judging just by the outside.

About 11:45 we get a call. It is the couple's daughter. She says they have gone away and she is running the B & B for the weekend. She had to go out (at that time of night:confused: ) and she was going out again and would leave the door unlocked, just pick ourselves out a room for the night.

Okay, so we go over, pick a room and go to bed. Come morning (9:45am). We go downstairs looking for breakfast........ not a soul to be seen:eek: We knew she was there because her purse and boots were there. Didn't feel right rummaging thru someone else's house so we woke the kids up and went out for brunch.

We drove around the area. Alex showed us around two of his ambulance bases. We met some of his co-workers (great guys, lots of laughs). We went to the grocery store and cooked ourselves dinner at Alex's place.

Now, What about our room for that night at the B & B. So I call over there, no answer. A bit later the daughter calls and says, she has to go out and will drop us off a key at Alex's place before she leaves so we can get in when we want. Okay great, fine with us.

Sunday morning we are up early to start our journey home (hopefully with better road and weather conditions) I was awake during the night (4am) and heard the daughter downstairs speaking with a man, so I don't think she went to bed at all that night.

We get up and she is awake and is making us some breakfast. She didn't ask what we wanted just gave us a bacon and egg bagel. It tasted good but what if we just wanted toast?

We talked to her for about 15 minutes while we ate and that is all we saw of her. Turns out the she is working on a Norwegian Cruise Line ship in the children's area. She actually has met the young man that lives across the street from us and also works for Norwegian Cruise line. Small world.

We pick up Liz at Alex's apartment and head for home. For the most part the weather and road conditions were much better on Sunday. Took us a lot longer to get home though for some reason

Wow... I get very cranky when I'm tired. Two things you don't mess with... 1)My food and 2) my sleep. For the most part, I'm pretty easy going with things but when I'm hungry or sleepy... I turn into the grumpiest bear you'd ever want to meet:lmao:

I wonder if her mom and dad knew she was this organized with their business:rolleyes1

Betsy & Robin>>>

Love the pics! I love the Easter sunrise pic, and the red streak in the northern sunset. I also loved seeing Albert posing proudly with those Easter baskets:thumbsup2 He looks so cute. Thanks for posting them!

I'll have to download a pic of Chad and Carolin out in the snow when I can get on our home computer this weekend.

P. S. Robin... I love your new car!:thumbsup2

Hey Kelly, it's great to hear from you

Yes Kathy is the one who posted about me, she had a great time and her trip report was good, here's the link to it http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1415405 and there are some great photos on there too

Is there more than one Busch Gardens ? as it must be quite a long way to the one in Florida

The girls are doing great thanks, they've had 2 weeks off school and they've seen their friends everyday and been to sleepovers and we're having one here tonight. So it's back to school on Monday, and it will be a very busy time for Kerry as she'll have a lot of revision to do before her exams in May/June

How's Jimmy, Chad and Carolin ? I hope they're OK, say 'hi' to them for me

Have a great weekend

Mandy :)

Oh, how I miss the Wonder! I could never get to the secret verandah, it was always locked when I would get the time to go there:headache:

We have Busch Gardens Europe 2 1/2 hrs away from here. They are opening a new ride next month, the kids can't wait to ride it... I'm a little hesitant

http://www.griffoncoaster.com/

I've entered CW and the kids in a contest to be a VIP on the coasters grand opening day.

The kids are all doing fine! They are ready for school to be out. Tell the girls to enjoy this weekend, hope the weather will be good for you all:wizard:

You guys have a great weekend too!

Wow Kelly, that is one cool ride, I'm not sure if I'd like those 90 degree straight down drops :scared1:

I hope they win the contest, that would be so much fun

Mandy :)

 Mandy, Betsy and Kelly!

Betsy, I'd love to have you for a neighbour. We'd probably spend way too much time socializing though but heck, life is short. Wouldn't it be great to go back to the 50's era when women met everyday for their little coffee groups :thumbsup2

Kelly, is that the Busch Gardens in Virginia?? I've always wanted to go to that one to see what it is like.

Mandy, soon you will have your peace and quiet back again when the girls return to school.

Hi Robin - I'll be pleased not to have to drive them around everywhere, but to be honest I miss them when they're at school, the house becomes a bit too quiet :thumbsup2

Have a great weekend everyone

Mandy :)
