I've think I've mentioned before that Cora is a very compassionate little girl.
As much as I'd like to take credit, it's nothing I've done, it's all Cora. She is who she is. She likes herself, she's confident in herself, and she is always wanting to help others. It's just who she is. I know people who try to push things like church or community service acts on thier kids and some of the kids follow through because their parents want them to or force them to, but for Cora, it's not about what Eric and I have encouraged her to do, it's about what we limit her to doing, because she would do everything she could. Why would we limit her helping others? We want her to be a regular kid too. Hopefully we will help her learn to make her world a better place by keeping herself happy first and then she can make someone else happy too. Sometimes it only takes a smile to brighten someone else's day or a compliment. She's got the compliment thing down, and not to an extreme either. But each day she tries to compliment someone she comes in contact with. They feel better and she feels better because she made someone else feel good.

it's me Kathy.

please for give my intrusion on your thread, but I have information that will affect your cruise and i wanted to share with you and your fellow cruisers.

I just got confirmation today from DCL that very soon., ( they didnt give an exact date) on the Wonder you wont have a house band

Basically this means NO live band at the sailaway party
No live band in wave bands in the evening, only Cd's and a DJ.
I think DCL is just trying to save a buck at our expense!!!

There will still be a duo in the Promenade lounge and a piano player.

If I wanted to listed to CD's all evening I could of stayed home to do that.
I am asking everyone to join me in writing to DCL about this, ( address below) let them know how you feel. Plus if you dont have aband by the time you cruise, please write abou tit on your comment cards and tell guest services how you feel.

To me, if they are not paying a band to entertain me, they should lower the price!!! Sorry everyone, but I really feel cheated by this.
It is a cheap move on DCL's behalf.

If you read the forum here often you may remember a few months back there was a thread because Roy Disney had been replaced by Whopi in the Golden Mikceys. People were outraged and hundreds wrote to DCL. 2 months later Roy was back.

I believe we can do the same for the band. Have your spouses write too, your teens, neighbors, past cruisers you know.

Thanks Mandy for letting me complain to you, bu thtis will affect your cruise, so I thought you should know abou tit, maybe we canmake adifference before your cruise. I am crashing many cruises today trying to spread th eword.

I have to share my opinion on the houseband issue...

I liked them but don't see them as necessary.

For what they do, the one on the magic really wasn't very good

Has anyone confirmed that this rumor is true?

Please don't flame me, this is merely my honest opinion...

The night clubs didn't get very much use on our cruise, dcl is such a family oriented trip that most nights the clubs were totally empty.

The family club saw big crowds tho...it was very hard to find tables in studio sea.

Thanks for letting us know Kathy. I must admit that the only time I like to listen to the live music is at the Sailaway Party and I love to hear the steel band playing calypso music while we are chilling at the pools. Thank goodness they are keeping the duo in the Promenade Lounge, I know you're a huge fan of Don & Tommie, and I love to listen to Ben & Dana there.

I have sent an email to DCL, hopefully they will change their minds on this and should it be reported that the live bands have stopped I will post it on the the UK Boards for further support

Kathy... thanks for the info! I do hope they change this, the sailaway party was pretty cool with the band. And from what I saw for a short moment in the club, they sounded great!

Mandy... no superstition here for me on Fri the 13th! I'm happy it's Friday, this has been a loooong week!

Im Betsy, and Its just going to be my DH and myself for this Cruise....We are also staying at the PCR before the Cruise... ..

I did read something about the passports now not being needed...Of course that was AFTER I already got ours ...
Oh well maybe Ill need it for other trips... ..

Thanks for the warm welcomes. This will be my son's first cruise. He will be 14months old when we travel. This will be DH 3rd cruise and my 4th. We have only cruised RCCL before now. We too are so excited!!! We are on deck 7. I don't know what to exspect on this cruise but I'm so excited!!!! Tiffany
