Oh yes, exciting news while I was away.

My son got engaged yesterday

It was the 5th anniversary of the year they started dating. They started dating quite young. He was 18 and she was 14, they are now 23 and 19 on the 18th of November. Funny huh, both their birthdays are on the same day

No wedding plans or dates that I know of yet. I haven't seen him yet since I got home because he was off visiting with his girlfriend in Ottawa.

I don't know if I mentioned here or not but my son is a paramedic (also a nurse) and has accepted a job that is 20 hours driving time away from home. Way in the northern part of Ontario almost as far as the end of the roads go.

Yikes, I'll miss him but I wish him well. He's always wanted to try going someplace remote and being the primary health care person. Now is his chance before life gets in the way (wife, kids etc.)

Robin, glad to hear you had a great time! Sorry you were tormented by the mouse's house being so close

Have you seen this video of the Magic leaving Port Canaveral on Saturday with the Wonder in the background. It's great especially when they play the 'When You Wish Upon A Star' horn

and I knew some of my DIS friends would appreciate this.

I had a client call me from WDW today. They had arrived yesterday afternoon and went to MK with the two girls (who turn 8 on Friday at WDW).

WHen they went to get their MK Birthday Buttons at City Hall, the girls were giggly excited (they literally have been praying to go to WDW for two years!) A cast member wanted to share their joy and asked them to come back to guest relations in a couple of hours. They did and the woman had gathered a birthday supprise for each girl: A drawstring bag filled with things for each of them.

They ate at Chef Mickeys. (and Mickey came to their table when the birthday cupcakes showed up)

They went to the parade/fireworks.

Then when they got back to the hotel room, autographed pictures of Minnie and Mickey were waiting.

This morning at MK they got to toss confetti at opening and were asked if they wanted a special sitting with Cinderella. (They had 10 minutes in private with Cinderella later in the day!)

This is so great for this family. THe grandfather (who is in poor health) is paying for them to go. The dad sells shoes in a local department store...they would have never paid this much money for a trip to WDW. It really warms my heart to know that the is getting tossed on them.

Tomorrow they plan to visit Animal Kingdom.

This is why I love Disney. It's like they sense how to make a vacation even more special.

We get some Magic on January 7th!

We didn't do too much special in Florida this time Kelly.

We went to Sea World for a day, to an airplane museum about 1/2 hour from Orlando, some shopping, a dinner theater (Al Capone), sat around at the time share and in the pool/spa for a bit, ate out a lot.

Pretty lazy vacation overall.

Robin ~ it sounds like you had a nice, relaxing vacation. Did you enjoy yourself at SeaWorld ? We haven't been for years, did you get to see the Sea Lion show ? Was it still Clyde & Seamore take Pirate Island ? I've already seen the show twice, so I am hoping that it has been changed.
