It will be alot of cooking, but my DH loves to cook for these things....Soooo I let him! ;) :rotfl: ..
No really we do it together....and everyone brings something ...so it really not that hard....
But with seven kids under 6, it wont be a quiet meal by ANY means :teeth:

Our mowing has not been done yet either.

I'm going to have to prod Alex and see if I can get him to do it today.

I took my car in to the body shop this morning to get the bumper fixed. Remember my middle of the night, car getting hit fun of about a month ago :teeth:

So I have a loaner car but nobody under 25 can drive it so, that makes tonights dance schedule a bit of a fiddle. Liz usually does her class, leaves me there and goes home and comes back later. We'll figure something out though. We've got two men at home, they should be good for something, shouldnt' they :p

Nice day here, sunny but cool. I see I've got more toads to go and rescue from window wells. Maybe they LIKE living down there :confused3

Happy Monday everyone. I hate mondays because I have 4 classes and my Old Testemnt professor makes us sumerize the chapters of the old testement for every class. It's not hard but it takes for ever. tonight I will have to do Numbers 22-30 somthing. It should take me 2-3 hours. I did 1-21 last night and Numbers is not my favorite book. But I love tuesdays because I only have 2 classes and I get done by 12:00. I had a really good weekend becuse I got to go to my Grandma and Grandpa's house. My Grandma is a great cook and I enjoyed the chance to eat anything besides what they serve at the college. These are the same grandparents that are going on the cruise with us. Hope everyone has a better monday then me.
Love Suzi

Betsy ~ the leaves are starting to turn a little yellow now, I think Autumn is a lovely time of the year, it is starting to get darker in the evenings earlier and there's a nip in the air in the mornings

I hope you and Robin have managed to get your mowing done (it must be fun to have a tractor)

Robin ~ I hope you will get your car back soon

Suzi ~ great to hear from you, I hope you get your work done quickley, it sounds like you had a lovely weekend with your grandparents

Kelly ~ are you in hiding again ~ LOL I hope you're OK

Happy '13 weeks til Christmas' everyone

Mandy :)

No tractor for lawn mowing here :sad2: Our yard is not big enough anyways.

The leaves are definitely turning here. The weather is cool but not cold yet.

But I've got a couple of warm weather travels to look forward to. They really help to make the winters more bearable.

I can't believe how quick your next trip is coming round Robin. Are you ready for it ? and have you got all your posh outfits for formal nights etc ? Where will you be making stop off's at ?

Mandy :)

I'm sort of ready for it Mandy. I'm kind of looking forward to it and sort of not. I'm sure that I'll have a great time though. Heck, a cruise ship to anywhere is better than being at home :thumbsup2

I'm not too much into posh outfits but I do actually own a dress and a skirt and some dress shoes now :p Nothing real fancy, no ball gowns or anything ;)

We leave from San Juan, Puerto Rico..... a day at sea..... Aruba..... Curacao..... a day at sea..... St. Maarten..... St. Thomas..... and back to Puerto Rico.

We've been to none of those places (except for the day at sea, been there before a few times :lmao: ) so it should be interesting.

That sounds like a great itinerary Robin, I am going to be so jealous

Have you been able to find any web-boards like the Dis, where you can chat to your fellow cruisers - like us ??

Mandy :)

There is a board at cruise critic but it's not the same as here, not at all.

There is a thread for my cruise but it is very short and the funny thing is that it's mainly me and another DISer who post on it :rotfl2:

I'll take pictures to share with you Mandy :thumbsup2

Good morning :sunny:

I didn't want to get up this morning but here I am ;)

Have a good day. :wave2:

:wave2: Wendy, I feel like I'm stalking you. :tiptoe: :scared1:

It's probably too late now but maybe you should have considered a pocket door for your bathroom. You know the kind that slide INTO the wall. We have one of those on our basement bathroom because it's very tiny and it opens into a very small space too, so not enough room for a regular door.

It sounds like you have a great property there. In a way I'd love to live in the country and have a lot of land around me but I do like living where I am too.

We have the country in the backyard and the city in the front. Neighbours too close though, some privacy would be nice
Eric wanted pocket doors. We have 4 different guys working over there and somehow some of the ideas don't get passed on to each of them. (one guy is only there one day a wk or so) Anyway, Eric didn't realize it until it was too late that they framed in the doorway for a regular door. The bathroom is really a good sized room, so I'm not upset. The closet in the bedroom was another mistake they made. They framed that in for slide-by doors instead of folding doors. We have slide-by's in our current house and they are always off the track and you never can get to the back of the closet. We wanted folding doors and the ultimate closet organizer in there. If there are mistakes like this in our new house, the contractors will be fixing the problems. Right now with this apartment, we have sooo much money in to it, we just want it to be done!
I picked colors the other day. Eric doesn't like them. The bathroom is going to be a butter yellow. Not a bright yellow though. The living area I've picked a taupe. And the bedroom I found a coconut brown, not as dark as it sounds though.....about as dark as the hair on this smilie  but not that color brown. I think I said before that all the trim is going to be white, including the doors. Eric ordered all the hinges and lighting fixtures in a satin-nickle finish. The faucets are satin-nickle too. So are the door handles, and they are egg shaped. I think those are cool. Eric doesn't like my choices, but he said I got to pick all the stuff so I picked what I liked. I'll be painting sooner than expected. :sad2: They should have the mudding done by the end of today. I'm headed into town to pick up some stuff for the guys.

Wendy ~ Is the cruise a Christmas present to you all ? Wow, if it is then that is one great pressie !! :thumbsup2

Don't worry about putting a pound on (if it's that time of the month, it'll only be water retention) ~ good luck for next week. The volleyball team sounds like fun, all that running around should help, you must be very fit anyway with all the TKD that you do (note to myself ~ don't upset Wendy on the cruise, or she'll beat me up ~ LOL
Yes, the land&cruise vacation IS our christmas present. I can't believe I have kept it a secret for soooo long. I have been wanting to do this for a long time but we have been waiting for kids to be the perfect age. I think they are now. (they'll be 6 & 9....Cora's bday is Dec 27th and Randall had his bday already.)

I'm not too too upset about the weight thing. Don't be fooled,I'm not in really good shape either. I weigh about 10 lbs lighter than I did right after I had Cora 5 1/2 yrs ago. (and 30 lbs heavier than before I had any kids!! :guilty: ) I enjoy all food. I may enjoy it a bit too much. :teeth: I HAVE to be involved in things like TKD and volleyball. People count on me to be there. I don't want to let them down. If I had to rely on my own ambition to exercise, I'd be 400 lbs and melding on the couch. YES, I'm a couch potato. popcorn:: :happytv: I can't stand the thought of letting my teammates down or the young adults in my TKD class. I work with them a lot in class to keep them motivated and laughing, but every thursday I come up with an excuse not to go....it's hard to convince myself to go anyway. I usually do go, but I have skipped some too! :bitelip:

Morning all! Hope you guys are all doing fine! Can't wait for this weekend, Saturday we will be down to just the double digit countdown for the cruise (99 days!) :woohoo:

Carolin was sick yesterday, stomach flu! :( She was very upset to miss the first day of cheerleading practice! But, she recovered quickly and is back at school. Her getting the flu set me into mommy mode with everyone. I have been fussing about taking vitamins and washing hands as much as possible to get in the habit, avoiding any illnesses before cruise.

We were lucky last time. Sail date was Jan. 5th... 1st Chad got sick on New Years Eve with a terrible stomach flu, the next day CW got it, then Carolin on Jan 2nd. We went to bed on the 3rd all feeling good, packed and ready to go the next morning.... I woke up during the nite with bad stomach cramps! Got up the following morning preparing for our 10 hr. drive to Jacksonville, FL.

I lucked out though, just felt sick to my stomach and achy. Never got the full blown flu like they did and felt better that night! :wizard:

EARMUFFS!! they won;t block out allthe noise, but they'll muffle it! And boy are they stylish too! :rotfl2: I have a large family compared to my husband and we both have hard time dealing with family functions on my side, it's just too loud. We end up being the first to leave. I love my family, but in smaller doses! :teeth:

 Hi everyone

Wendy - I like the sound of your colour scheme, very nice :thumbsup2 I'm a couch potato too and I love my food, thankfully I do feel motivated at the moment, but it doesn't usually last

Kelly - Sorry to hear that Carolin hasn't been feeling well, thank goodness they seem to shake these illnesses off quickley

Robin - How funny, that you're posting with another Diser on your upcoming cruise thread on cruise critic :rotfl:

I'm having a lovely day today, I did a bit of Christmas shopping this morning.

On the UK Community we are doing a secret exchange and my present was delivered this morning, I had a lovely Stitch pillow. Stitch is wearing his alien outfit and it has a little ray gun on it that makes a funny noise when you press it :rotfl2: I love it
