Im just doing my laundry today...I should go out and mow my lawn...but I just dont seem to be able to get the energy...I know ...pretty bad when you dont have the energy to ride a lawn tractor... :sad2: :rotfl2:

Hello Betsy! I'm feeling better, much better! Thanks for the well wishes!

Ugh, laundry! Ugh, lawn! I dread those two things this weekend! YUCK

I think it's the heat that has drained every drop of energy out of me, I don't blame you for not wanting to get on the

Hey!!! Welcome!!
I'm Wendy and I'm so happy to hear we've reeled in another for 01/07/07!!
I'll be traveling with the family. It'll be my first, my son's first, and my youngest girls's first trip to WDW and cruise. We are spending 3 days at the World before the cruise. :ssst: The kids don't know about the trip yet. :ssst: I can't believe I've kept it a secret this long. This is our christmas present this year. I'm not buying them any other presents. Santa is hopefully bringing them each a suitcase already packed with new clothes and he'll bring stocking stuffers as well, but that's it. Sounds kind of cruel, I know, but my kids have presents that they recieved two years ago that they took the packaging off, but never took item from box. I'll end up spending more giving them a vacation, but I think they'll enjoy it more and it'll make a great story to tell the grandkids about. (if I ever get any!)
Anyway, our ages at time of cruise, myself (34), DH (44), DM-I-L (66?), DD (18), DS (9), DD (6). I'm hoping to get my passport picture done this week and hopefully the two youngest kids done too. I have the paperwork filled out, did it one the computer, now for the pictures and to send it off! Time is sure starting to fly by!
Oh,...I'm a SAHM too! My youngest does start Kindergarten this year, so I will be going into work at my husbands business a few hours a week starting in the fall, but I'll get to make my own hours most of time. :teeth:
Have any MUST DO's for the cruise? Like me, I MUST go to the spa!! :goodvibes

Kelly-glad to hear your feeling better. Sending more p & pd :wizard: that you stay that way!! :thumbsup2

Betsy- DH is out on the tractor right now to mow 2 of our 3 fields. Then he'll grab the push mower to trim our back yard. Our tractor is too big to do our yard, actually,...it's too heavy, it'll leave tire ruts, so our regular lawn gets done with the push mower...only 2 acres! :rotfl: He really enjoys mowing, he gets his MP3 player going and I see him 3 hrs later!

thank you Kelly. and HI

18 people huh? We went with family at Christmas last year and there were only 12 of us. I know you'll be busy with your group, but have plenty of down time too. I love a DISNEY cruise.

Hi Poohfriend, (Jennifer)

My name is Susan I am one of the notorious 3 sisters :dance3: . I am going on the cruise with one of the sisters as my roommate, the other sister is going with her DH. I am married with two grown children 24 & 20, all who are not cruising with me. DH doesn't particularly like cruising (retired Navy). I am an OB/GYN nurse, DH now is a PT, and we both only work Part time and spend the rest of our time enjoying each  other and family. Live in N. Fla, so I spend alot of time at Mickeys House (WDW) infact, I'm headed out the door to pick up DS and meet other DS there now!! :woohoo:

OKAY, are you "real" sisters from the same parentage, or are you sisters by choice?

I am so jealous that you live where you can visit Mickey a lot...my kids would adore that. My BIL lives in Orlando...but we don't get down to see him often, and I'd rather stay on site with little ones so we haven't used his house to reduce our travel cost.

My FIL was retired Army (reserves), but was in the NAVY during WWII Korea and Vietnam. He dreamed of sailing again, but my MIL got sea sick when they went on a cruise in the 60s. His military service was his proudest accomplishment! I hope we can help his Grandchildren understand how important that was to him...patriotism doesn't seem to be instilled in kids the way it was when I was younger.

Look forward to getting to know you better.

Welcome on board Poohfriend(Jennifer),

I am Dalpal(Betsy, 50)...Just my DH ( Mike, 51) and I are going on this cruise....
We have 2 grown children and 10 DGC(with another one expected any min. now :teeth: )...

I am a Threadkiller...as are quite a few of us on this board.
Cruisin, Tinknutt, Hollyann, SWHNN, (The three sisters :dance3: ) are threadkillers too...
Sunny_Medford, L.thornton and Mandymouse have recently started to pop in to chat over there also....
We would love to have you come on over anytime and join us too...

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=348139&page=2160&pp=15

A work at home TA?...I would love to get into that! ( I have to be home to care for my 84 YO DM )...Did you have to take classes for that?...

I think the most that is planned for now is a meet in one of the lounges on the day we board,...but there is nothing written in stone yet...(we should work on that soon ;) )

What deck are you going to be on?....alot of us are on deck 6 although some are higher up in the ship.....Also what meal seating?....I think most of us are early seating....
It is going to be sooo fun ...meeting everyone, we have spent time talking to and getting to know...

If you have pictures of you and your fam..we would love to see....
Ill try to find a picture of my DH and myself and post it also...that way we all can put a face to the names!.. :thumbsup2

You can see the sisters right now in Tinknutts sig...(they are the ones without all the hair :lmao: )
Hey Can you sing?..... :rotfl: We all sing very well on these boards :rotfl: ..
Dont we girls! ;)

 TTFN

Okay, I'm simply amazed. I'm almost 40...And in 10 years I won't have my kids fully raised, forget grandchildren! I'm positive you have a sense of how blessed you are to get to enjoy those little ones while you're in the prime of life! My parents are young too! I was always so proud to have young, energetic parents.

what's the singing joke? I will be on deck 7, a cat 7 -- a splurge for us! Right now we are on second seating, but I'd waitlisted for 1st. We'll see. I'm okay either way since the kids won't be with us!

You can take classes to become a TA, but you don't have to. I signed with an agency that provided me with basic training. All you really need is a computer and some willingness to SELL travel. :thumbsup2

I don't have any pictures handy to scan, but I'll work on that so you can all see my precious children.

By the way, I feel like I should take notes on who's who and who's a sister and a threadkiller. Does anyone already have the CLIFF notes? :joker:

Hey!!! Welcome!!
:goodvibes

What a fabulous Christmas gift. We did this (sort of) last year. We left on Dec. 26 for WDW. I didn't tell my kids we were going until that morning. MY DH didn't go though. That morning I asked if they wanted to go see the grandparents who live in Colorado. They said yes. When we got to the airport I asked if they would like to see Grammy and PaPa at Disney World. And when we got to Orlando, I asked if they'd like to see thier cousins too. A few days later I told them about the boat. Our decision to wait was mostly because we didn't want to diminish the meaning of Christmas with a lot of vacation talk. The surprise was AWESOME and fun! I think the suitcases full of vacation stuff is great. I packed at night after my little ones went to bed and since it was cold here by then, they didn't miss any clothes from their drawers. I did buy new underwear and sox!

By the way, we had only two or three packages and a stocking for the kids to open. I really understand that you're not being mean to your kids by refusing to flood your home with toys.

Is yours a blended family? I'm asking because of the age diff in your kids.

My must dos: relax with hubby. Spend time on the adult only beach... And see if I like the rainforest. Last year I did a manicure and HATED it, so I cancelled other spa treatments. (I'm not very frou frou to begin with) Plus at the time, my son was just 2 and only had a few hours in Flounders each day.

Thanks for the warm welcome
jennifer

Kelly keeps notes! I bet if you PMed her she could fill you in! Luckily I have been on this thread long enough that I only need to learn the new ones now! I never was one known for my memory, or my math skills, or my manners or my common sense or........Well, you get the idea!

I love the term frou frou!!

I never did the spa thing til this last year. My sister and a friend of hers opened a small spa in our area. I don't care for the manicures, but I do treat myself on occassion. They seem to take forever. I had fake nails put on in May for the 1st time and hated it. I take martial arts classes so it's not all that practical either. I like an occassional pedicure, because I wear flip flops and sandal all spring thru late fall and then I move to the slip on mocs! (I hate shoelaces!) My fav is the massage. I like to go every two weeks but don't always get there. My sister gives me a good scalp massage when I get my hair done and a hand massage every now and then. If she didn't have a salon, I wouldn't get any of this stuff done.

We ARE a YOURS, MINE, & OURS family. At one time we talked about getting a picture of all 3 kids with an orchid. Caption below picture would read, My kid, Your kid, our kid, orchid! :lmao: I've been with my husband for 7 yrs now and we are still like newlyweds. We had each been married before, and actually I went to school, played sports with and worked with his x!! :rotfl: We live in such a small community, we all see each other all the time, so it's best to just try to get along. Most of time, we don't have to try, it just happens.

I think my kids will understand about the lack of presents. We try hard to keep them in check. Recently we have decided to cut back on a number of different things such as summer activities. Next summer we will take the month of August off from martial arts. I can't even fit in a surprise visit to the bowling alley. Fall is bittersweet. I like my schedule to be lighter, but I miss the kids when they aren't here. And now with Cora going to school all day?!!!!:sad1:

:rotfl:

It's so great that your family gets along well. So many families struggle with the realities of divorce, it's refreshing to hear of one that just deals with it!

I've never had a massage. Sounds nice though. I think I'll save the money this cruise ... DH might want to snorkle, so any money saved could go toward an excursion.

I have bittersweet feelings about my 5 year old entering K5 this year too. She 's my princess: . I like her being more independent, but want her to stay sweet and small. At least my 2.5 year old is still here at home to keep me hoppin'.

:wave2: All.

Everyone out having a good weekend.

Here it is a long weekend, Monday is a holiday, of sorts. It really doesn't have a specific purpose. I think it was just started because someone wanted a holiday in the middle of the summer :joker:

Nobody's complaining though :rotfl:

what's the singing joke?

I meant to answer this earlier but I just remembered that you asked :sad2:

Some of us around here claim to be good singers ( I've not heard anyone sing so who am I to say :confused3 ).

So Betsy has decided that everyone on the DISboards is a good singer :rolleyes1 . It's a DISboard miracle :lmao:

Personally though, whenever I sing, I'm told to please stop :guilty: :rotfl:

You want to join as at karaoke onboard the ship :p

Sound like fun. I won't be asking anyone to stop singing since i've had my off key moments!

We start school at the end of this week, so lots of preperations going on here. That combined with trying to get the "new" house ready has everyone a little on edge. MY DH is pirate: a little grumpy because the kids are on edge about all the change.

Me, I'm hangin in there. Have a great Sunday ALL! :wave2:

:woohoo: Only 5 Months Left!! Yippee!! :woohoo:

Another month closer! Mandy asked us to celebrate for her while she's gone! Any sightings of the UK gal, sisters?? :confused3

Wendy ~ Thanks for the p & pd! Things are still going well! We are gonna be doing the same thing for the kids this Christmas! Carolin had tons of unopened Barbies, Bratz stuff, etc.. she held onto it for almost a year before deciding to donate it to a shelter for women & children in domestic violence!

That made me proud, instead of keeping it til the spring for a yard sale where she would make some money!

Robin ~ I'm gonna hold ya to the karaoke thing with the rest of you guys! I got thinking though... they probably don't have "Smelly Cat" anywhere on their karaoke cds! We need to find a song we can all perform

Jennifer ~ I do have a little cheat sheet! PM me if you would like it!

Hello to everybody! I hope you ALL had a great weekend! TTFN! :grouphug:

Yes definitely make sure that you get to the terminal early enough to have time to look around.

Look at the floor, go out on the deck and watch them load luggage and supplies into the ship. We saw our luggage go by in one of the bins while we were standing there :teeth:

Take time to see the little details ::yes::
