:wave2: Dave, glad you're back from Hawaii. Did you have a nice trip? What was the weather like?

A party in your room on sea day sounds like a very nice idea. If you want to host that, that'd be great. That way we can get together and talk about how our cruise has been, the fun stuff we've done etc.

I would think we would have some sort of short get aquainted meeting on the first day/night of the cruise too. Maybe somewhere like the Promenade Lounge, Diversions, Cadillac Lounge or even on deck somewhere:confused3 Just so that everyone can get together and actually meet each other so we can recognize each other during our travels.

Good luck talking your friends into coming along with you.

The weather in Hawaii was not great. It rained a great deal and we had 100% humidity. We were simply happy to be someplace on vacation and the weather did not really bother us.

We would be happy to host a party in our room. What kind of food does everyone like? I will ship out some wine, champagne and beer prior to the cruise as well.

Sadly, our friends can't make this cruise. Pam can't get the time off from work. For now, it is just Monica and I.

That's too bad about the weather in Hawaii. But you know what they say..... a bad weather day in Hawaii is better than a good weather day at work ;)

If you want to host a party in your room, don't feel you have to go to a lot of trouble. It's definitely not necessary, for me anyways. Just a chance to get together and discuss how our vacations are going will be enough.

Also it's probably one of the few chances that any of us will have to see the Walt Disney suite which will be nice. I'm trying to see as many different areas of the ship as I can. I have no little ones but I've checked out Flounders nursery, the Oceaneer Labs and Clubs, the conference rooms that used to be on Deck 2...... and so on :smooth:

Sorry you're friends can't make it with you this time. Maybe you will find someone else to share your cabin before we sail. If not then you can take turns inviting the rest of us to experience a night in a Category one stateroom :woohoo: :lmao:

I agree with Robin! This is going to be your vacation as well! Please don't go to any trouble with the food and beverages, especially where there is already soooo much available to us! :goodvibes

It will be nice to see the room, until my DH & I take off on our own, rooms like that are just a picture on my computer screen! :rotfl2:

Sorry to hear about the weather in HI, BUT sometimes the rains can't make a romantic getaway for two!

Well all, I'm gone for the day! I'm trying to convince my little sis to get on here and chat with you all so she can meet u guys, too!

See ya! Take care! :grouphug:

for the youth rally this weekend! I'll be chaperoning 4 teens if I understood correctly! Say a prayer for me! :guilty:

Hey Kelly

We have a Paramount park about 2 1/2 hours away from us in Toronto.

I'm not much of a roller coaster fan but I've taken the kids there tons of times.

I've riden The Italian Job.......... cool ride :car:

Have fun. I've gone lots of times with just a car full of teenagers and me :teeth:

kelly,
i hope that you can convince your sister to chat w/us. my sisters stayed on me for about a yr before i finally joined up. i figured if i am going to cruise w/y'all, it'd be nice getting to know you a bit 1st. i am glad that i did and enjoy chatting w/everyone. in fact, my signature SWHNN is from my sisters talking about me on the disbrd for so long w/me hanging in the background. who knows, maybe your DS will change her mind too. persistance is the key :thumbsup2

dave, hi, i'm mary and i'm (obviously) new. get-together at your place or gathering wherever sounds good. i expect me and my sisters (tinknutt & hollyann, plus hollyann's hubby) will plan to stop by. how exactly do you "ship out" beer, etc to your room? are these beverages purchased on board or allowed to be brought on, or *gasp* smuggled? :lmao: sorry, i really am new. not only new to disbrd, but never been on a cruise - OMG! mary

Thanks David, but like everyone says, please don't go to any trouble, it'll be great to meet you both, have a chat and to meet in a great location, but lets face it we'll be surrounded by drink and food all day, we want you to enjoy your vacation, not worry about us :)

Sorry to hear that your friends aren't able to make it

I hope everyone has a great day :)

Hey gang! Sorry I'm not on here as much, trying to clear my desk before the new girl comes in on Monday to be trained! I feel bad for her, she has to put up with me for a while! :rotfl2:

Robin... The Italian Job is exactly what the kids are hoping to ride, I love roller coasters, but I didn't like the Drop Zone at Kings Dominion! :sad2: Do you have that at the one by you? :confused3 If so, you may see what I mean!

Mary... Thanks, I'm still trying to convince her! Maybe we will see her pop up soon! Don't worry about this being your 1st cruise, this is only my 2nd! We all have to start somewhere, right? :p I love my sissy soo much! She is alot like me! Hope that's good!

Mandy... I appreciate you thinking of me! DS is my biggest worry, he is already scared I'll cramp his style :rolleyes1 Hmmm, maybe I should breakdance in the middle of the park for him and his buddies :lmao:

Susan... Like you, I'm getting more excited! Isn't it time to go already! :hyper: Having my family and you guys on board, plus an extra nite this time... I'm ready! :woohoo:

Besty... I think we messed up by not trying the land/sea pkg! It's prob too late to change everything though! We are doing the WDW as well, with my luck it would have been way cheaper! :sad2: Have a good lunch! :smooth:

Hi!! I have been a long-time lurker on the DIS and when I saw this thread I just had to officially join!

My family and I will be on the 4 night Wonder on January 7th! It will be myself, my parents, and my 3 sisters. I am 20 now, but I will be 21 come cruise time. My sisters will be 23, 15, and 15 (twins). We are in cabins 6028 and 6030. This will only be our second Disney cruise, the last time we cruised DCL was in 2000. Can't wait to cruise!!

:welcome: Welcome aboard Princess Jasmine :welcome:

Hi, I'm Mandy (from the UK), I'm travelling with hubby and my two daughters who are 15 & 13. It's great to meet you, and welcome to our party party:

It's nice to see that a lot of us will be on Deck 6 :sail:

Yes there is a Drop Zone at Paramount Canada's Wonderland too. I have done it before and I don't mind it too much. I think Tower of Terror has gotten me used to those kinds of rides ;)

I have never done a land/sea package deal but I'm under the impression that you can do it much cheaper by booking it all yourself. Of course it is easier if someone else does it all for you but you have to pay that person to do it too :confused3

Thanks for the welcomes everyone!

Mandymouse, how did your daughters like the teen club if they went last time? My 15 year old sisters are rather skeptical about the club since it is Dinsey. They are convinced this is going to be a cruise full of little kids. They're kind of at that age where they are "too cool" for anything, including Disney! :sad2: I didn't know there was an age where that happened...I haven't reached it yet!

Without reading all the pages in this thread, is anyone else going to Disney before or after the cruise? My parents are Disney Vacation Club members so we are going to be at the Beach Club Villas on December 31st (my 21st birthday :) ) for 7 nights, then on to the Wonder, then 2 more nights at the Beach Club villas.

Also, I have a random question, did everyone purchase the insurance offered by DCL? We didn't, and I am wondering if that was a mistake.

Princess Jasmine, we once went on a Disney Cruise that had over 800 teenagers on it. Definitely NOT a ship filled with little kids. :p There will likely be lots of teenagers onboard.

Morning all

Princess Jasmine, my eldest (Kerry) was 14 on our last cruise and she LOVED the Teen Club, she was always doing something and was usually the last one to bed after joining in with an activity or going to the cinema. She is really looking forward to going back

We will be staying at the Pop Century before the cruise (and a couple of nights after)

And finally, yes we did buy the insurance (though in the past we haven't always) just for the peace of mind

Have a great day everyone

Mandy :)

We didn't as well! I think they offer it up to 90 days before cruise if I understand the CM right! We are thinking of adding it possibly :confused3 I haven't heard much on it!
