Happy New Year Robin, Betsy, Kelly and to you families too

The girls had a friend over last night, so Paul and I saw the New Year in at a local restaurant

I hope you all had a great night - and that you're not suffering with a hangover this morning :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Have a lovely day :)

Morning Mandy, at least it's still morning here.

I stayed home last night.

I don't like the taste of alcohol so I have no hangover problems to deal with :thumbsup2

Just lack of sleep from staying up too late.

I've really got to start adjusting my schedule a bit so that I'm ready for vacation.

It's not a nice day here at all today. Snowy and blowy and just plain ole yucky stuff.

Hope it's nicer where everyone else is.

Enjoy the first day of the new year. May it be a happy, healthy and prosperous one.

Hey Girls

It's a very dull day over here, and we've got some snow due tomorrow (brrrrr), so the only way to cheer myself up is to think of my next holiday :rotfl2: :rotfl2: We've got the Free Disney Dining Plan in August, so I'm looking at menus, as we'd like to try a couple of different restaurants. I can't believe I'll be able to make my ADR's next month

Robin, you must be so excited about your Cruise, will you be staying in WDW as well ?

Betsy, is it June or July that you're going to WDW with your granddaughters ? Have you started making any ADR's yet or made an itinerary yet ? and where will you be staying ?

Kelly, your Cruise is getting nearer too, where will you be cruising to ? and for how long ?

Has anyone got any plans for the rest of the year ? Have you got any other holidays (I mean vacations) booked yet ?

Well have a lovely day girls, and I hope it's not too cold where you are

Hi Mandy,
We are going to the world in June(the 18-27th)...We have to get 2 rooms as there will be 7 of us, so its Pop C. for us this year....
It will be Brittanys birthday on the 26th (our last day)...and I think she said she wanted to go to 50s...So that needs to be reserved, but Im making sure with her befor I do ....
I have made a res. for Norways/storybook buff. for the twins for our sec. day there(the 19th)..but thats it so far...

We may be going to Assatique(sp?)Island, in Maryland with our camper later in the summer season(late Aug/early Sept)..But it all depends on time off for Mike and money we spent at the world....:confused3 :confused3

We are also trying to keep Hawaii in mind for 09, so we want to be extra careful saving...if we want to make it there .....:confused3

Good luck with your planning, and stay warm....pixiedust:

I posted this on the TKer thread, but thought you all might be interested in my woes too!LOL

Well It has been a busy end of the year...but I lived through it....

A few days ago I was getting wood from my barn with my wheelbarrow and coming back from the barn with it full of logs..I was trying to stay in the snow, and NOT the ice on my driveway......
WELllllllll, I had to pull it out of a frozen hole in the snow and when I finally got it out,.... the weelbarrow, skipped over the snow and ended up on the ice...as I put my foot out to stop it from tipping over and sending logs shooting down my driveway on the ice, it too slipped out from under me...and I ended up with the weelbarrow handle bashed into the side of my....(lets see how I can put this:blush:) ummm ,,,well .. below my armpit
now the side of my B**** is black and blue...( well it was...its better now...Just kind of dark pink/yellow)..
But I have to tell you, as I was sitting there in the snow and ice...I was thinking as soon as I feel like Im gonna live, I have to get up and collect all those logs that are sliding away... and finish this job, as Mike wasnt coming home til way after dark...I did say a few choice four letter words....:upsidedow I would have made a pirate proud...pirate: :snooty:

THEN NYEs... I was getting into the shower(there is a step up)...and bashed my middle toe so badly that I tore the skin back from my nail...and I heard a pop...another stream of words normally not heard from me.:teeth:..and My toe is the biggest I have ever seen it..and its a very nice shade of purple...
No dancing for me that night...( not that I would have danced anyway)...Im still limping and it was hell putting on my shoes to go out ...
I really love my crocs now....:goodvibes

Inspite of it all, Mike and I had a great time... the band was very good ... and we were treated very special , by the owners, who over the years have become our friends....;) ( we have been going there every Thurs. for the last almost 20 years now)
I had shrimp, lobster and choc. moose(sp?), Mike had shrimp, haddock(sp?), and a big piece of choc. cake...and of course the champain that everone gets...But we didnt drink much more then that as we had to drive home... we arent really drinkers anyway:)
Yesterday we took all the christmas stuff down...Boy the house looks so empty now.... ....

Its back to normal here.... I will be home all day....I have to start planning our June trip and make my dinning res.s...
I have already made one for norway/storybook buff. for the twins...THe castle is now just too darned expensive to me ....:sad2:

WOW..:scared1: ..LONG post.. ..SORRY!
Have a good day ladies pixiedust:

OK....:thumbsup2 But are you sure you can carry that BIG tank on your back the whole time....(ya know they laugh at "Off", sometimes even at "deet")
It may be lighter to take the blowtorch...LOL..

Sometimes I think that I may have become anemic when I get back from there LOL...

Once when we brought our DGS(he was about 4 at the time)...He said to me ..Its really fun here nana, but all the skeeters ,scare me...He was covered with them...everytime he ran from the tent to the screenhouse...LOL...
That was the worse I have ever seen them there....:scared1: But that was early Aug.

Mandy we are staying off site again this time, Comfort Inn, Lake Buena Vista.

Got a really great deal on the room $39.95 a night:thumbsup2

We are planning on doing Universal Studios this time. We got those $89 good for 7 consecutive day passes.

So we are going on the Friday afternoon that we arrive, the next day Saturday and the Thursday that we get off of the ship.

Our next vacation semi-planned is to the Miami, Florida area leaving on Feb 15 or 16. Rick is wanting to take his airplane down there and fly in a competition. So we will be driving there.

 Betsy. Stop beating yourself up so much. You really need to be nicer to yourself;)

Kelly, which ship are your sailing on again? We sailed out of Puerto Rico when we went on the Adventure of the Seas.

The airport there was very hard to navigate. We we flying Northwest and couldn't find their check in desk. We asked a couple of times and both times we were sent in the totally opposite direction:sad2: We did eventually find it, very small checkin counter. But we sure were glad that we had lots of time to work with or we would never have made it.

Your poor little grandson.... they are a nuisance!!

Wow Robin... what a great rate!!:thumbsup2 We are sailing on Serenade of the Seas. As for the airport... yuck!! Are there alot of people in the airport that speak english?

Hey Girls

It's great to hear from you all, I assume that you're all getting back to your normal routine now

Betsy - OMG, what have you done to yourself ? It sounds like you've been in the wars :rotfl2: I hope your foot and bruising are better now

Your plans for WDW sound great, we went to the Princess Storybook on Christmas Day and it was lovely, with great food too, so I'm sure your little princesses should enjoy it too princess:

Kelly - Your ports of call sound wonderful, I will be jealous when you're in the Caribbean enjoying yourself. Are you looking forward to it ? or will you miss the kids too much ?

How are Chad and Carolin ? Did they have a lovely Christmas and New Year ?

Robin - Wow, fancy going to Florida twice in a month - you lucky girl. How will it be, driving down during the Winter ? I guess the weather will get better as you drive south

Have a great day :thumbsup2

Hi Mandy!!

We are looking forward to this like you wouldn't believe!!:goodvibes

I will miss the kids, but I survived Seattle without them so I now know I can manage this:rotfl2:

Chad & Carolin are doing great! They had a great Christmas and wonderful New Year. It went by too fast though as Chad woke up New Year's morning at 6 a.m., took a shower then try to wake me up to send him off to school!:rotfl: He thought it was Wednesday:goodvibes

How was Kerry and Becky's holidays?

How was Kerry and Becky's holidays?

They've had a great Christmas/New Year thanks Kelly. Kerry is back at college on Monday and Becky is back to school on Tuesday. I don't think they're looking forward to going back :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Would you like to see a fun piccie girls ?

I love the picture Mandy.

In fact I've taken a few myself just like that one.

Driving down to Florida is not so bad in the winter.

The northern parts of it can be bad at times but as you say, the further south you go, generally the warmer it gets.

We are quite used to snow though, so it takes a lot to even slow us down let alone totally bring us to a stop.

I just realized today that those trips are only 2 weeks apart:scared1: :scared1:

That sounds really crazy to me now but it won't stop me from going :rotfl2:

Kelly, yes we got a really good deal at the motel and we've stayed there many times in the past so we know what we are getting.

There are people at the airport in San Juan that speak English of course but I think a lot of them like to pretend that they do not. :headache:

I finally went up to one of the other airline counters and asked them for directions to the Northwest check in. That seemed to work the best. So keep it in mind if you find yourself confused.

What airline are you flying with??

Maybe you can find the airport on the net and have a look at the terminal plans before you go.

Cute pic with the tootsies Mandy!!:rotfl: The girls got a nice holiday break!! Chad and Carolin got seven school days off. Yesterday was the first day back:crazy2:

Robin, thanks for the heads up on the PR airport. We aren't sure yet which airline we are flying out on, hopefully I'll know more towards the end of this month. Was the $89 passes for you and Rick or per person? Either way... you got a great deal!:thumbsup2

Kelly, the $89 was per person, which is still a pretty good deal if you want to spend any amount of time at Universal Studios.

You can even hop back and forth between the parks if you want to do that.

I purchased mine from the local CAA/AAA office but you can get them also online from the Universal Studios website.
