75 employees laid off at Pixar, including the director of Lightyear

Perhaps this will pass. But I am old enough to remember when Schlitz was the second most popular beer in the U.S. They then had a disastrous add campaign that caused them to fall from 2nd to 4th. They never recovered and eventually were bought out by Stohs brewery. The public can be very fickled, and once you move from one beer to another (well heck, most just are a little hops and water) there is no turning back.
"You want to take away my gusto?"

Disney can go pretty wild and crazy as well, as I really have no other choice to get my Star Wars fan fix. However, for some people there is a point at which they no longer trust Disney to entertain them and their kids without feeling an left leaning political agenda is being crammed down their throats.
I still don’t understand why simply having diverse characters is considered a left leaning political agenda, nor why the mere act of watching said character is having it shoved down your throat. Because if we’re still talking about Pixar in this thread, the actual LBGTQ content of Lightyear was miniscule and didn’t even take up five minutes of the movie. How is having a pre-teen girl character in Turning Red considered left leaning? Wasn’t the girl in Inside Out the same age? I honestly, truly don’t get it.

Are you replying to the image you posted? If so, what is the "agenda" you're referring to in acknowledging in a movie the simple fact that there are people who don't use he/she pronouns? Why do you care how people refer to themselves?

Disney puts some of the worst LGBT rep in their movies ("blink and you miss it" characters) and people complain about it. I can't even imagine what would happen if there was actually good representation.
The best representation is on Disney Junior shows. Completely serious. One of the Firebuds has two moms. Several of their animal oriented shows have dogs in wheelchairs. The new PJ Masks has a character with crutches. There was an episode of Dino Ranch when the kids helped two male T-rexes adopt an egg. TOTS shows families with one parent, parents of the same gender, parents who are different species than the adopted kid. That’s not even mentioning race and gender diversity. And you know who has no problem with all of this diversity? My three-year old. He just wants to see cars go vroom.

I thought the voice actor had a very nice quote about this,

“It’s so hard for us to be treated in media as something non-political vs. just being people,” they wrote. “But to me getting to voice a nonbinary character — and one in such a big movie — it was an honor. I count that as a win in my book. Still more is needed and we’re working to get there!”

Yeah, you have to go to the TV shows if you want anything substantial. I know Disney Channel shows like Owl House have really great rep. At this point I don't expect anything from the movies and neither do any of my LGBT friends. If anything movies like Onward and Lightyear were made fun of by the LGBT community for their pathetic excuse for rep (at least what I saw online).

Because the whole pronoun this is ridiculous. This is where we are now, and the list is growing every day. Just absurd. I don't think people really even care. It's a control thing. They want to come up with some ridiculously stupid idea, and make you conform to it. And if you don't, they are a victim, and you are a terrible person full of "hate". Sorry. Not participating in that idiocy. Not supporting anything that pushes it.

Ridiculous. Nobody had to go out of their way to find that story. Social media posts aren't just seen by the people that follow them. Many are shared with people that don't follow them, and some go viral with discussion going far beyond social media. I've never been to any of these social media, and I've seen stories about it everywhere. Even here. And that was the purpose of the person that created the campaign.
You’ve seen stories about it everywhere because certain websites need to pay their bills and outrage is currency. I haven’t.

If it makes you feel any better I didn't even notice this. Also, it's a water person.
I just thought they were a lesbian couple. I mean as water people it's not like they had highly defined lines.

Either way, don't care. They were water people that were part of a close family, who enjoy hanging out together. Pretty sure any kid watching it felt the same way.

It was a paid social media ad campaign with a transgender individual by the most blue collar beer company in all of America. The bread and butter customer base for bud light was dive bars, bowling alleys, darts leagues, baseball games, football games, rodeos, country music shows, and millions of joe 6 packs buying cheap beer on the weekends.

Their partnership with Mulvaney sparked an outrage that has cost them $20 Billion dollars of their stock valuation and around 25% of the bud light market share. At least two marketing executives have been placed on '"involuntary leave". Their stock has been downgraded by several key people in the financial industry.

On top of that the alternative LGBT+ community is now really mad at Bud Light also. They have lowered their perfect score as being an inclusive place to work and several gay bars have stopped serving bud light also. They are seen as not being inclusive enough now because they didn't aggressively enough support Mulvaney when the backlash started. This may hurt In Bevs ESG score and make it more difficult for them to acquire cheap business loans.

Everyone on both sides of the culture war is mad at Bud Light, and their brand & company have been severely damaged by this massive event in the industry. Their direct competitors for cheap light beer are seeing massive sales increases Coors Lite is +23% and Miller Lite +19%.

This is an incredible example of how engaging in intersectional dynamics is a huge mistake for companies. Bud light would still be the #1 beer in America if they had not partnered with Mulvaney. Once again I have no problem with Mulvaney, but I can clearly see this was really stupid move for Bud Light to make if they want to maximize profits in America.
First - the LGBTQ+ community isn't alternative.

Second - I don't drink very much (and I especially don't drink Bud Light for reasons of taste) but I have a Bud Light tshirt that I won at a trivia contest back in like 2007 in Chicago. At a gay sports bar. Companies like Budweiser, etc have been advertising in magazines like Out/Advocate for decades now - not at the expense of the alternative straight community but as a way to shore up financials by appealing to different markets. It's surreal to see the safe space some people need right now ...

You're trying to make this more complicated than it is. Very few people are using anything other than the first three pronouns, and I'm pretty sure you've known how to use "they" as a plural your whole life, so surely you can learn to use it for one person. Except it seems to offend you to even consider doing so.

My mistake in using the dated word of alternative, in this discussion. I was making no attempt to be offensive to anyone in this discussion, my mistake and I will use more up to date verbiage going forward. I honestly had no idea that term had fallen out of favor, so now I know.
