Well the first of the two Auctions just closed on Ebay. It was the one for 190 points at BW. It sold for $13,975 ($73.55 per point).

I am in the process of closing for $65 a point at BW. I feel better know knowing that I have a good deal

I followed this property as well as I am looking for additional points. I find it hard to believe that anyone would toss out that kind of money without looking at buying new first, which would have been cheaper. Just bidding on E Bay does not mean that a sale has occured, it simply means that, "I'm interested" in the property. I am looking for points, but there is no way in the world I would pay that much money.

I also think that it is silly because of the resale market, but I would definitely buy OKW at $75 before I would buy VWL for $72....to me, the peace of mind with the eleven month window is wort something....I think it is to most people.

I fully agree with the idea that the 11 month window makes things nice and easy, but at that price, I will buy vero in the mid 50's and roll the dice at the 7 month mark. One of the on site properties will be there...I hope I still have not decided if it was a good idea yet, but I currently own at 3 different properties. I still need more BW points though.

I just dont understand why someone would pay $73.55for BW on Ebay when you can find cheaper at timeshare places. Even with closing costs my buy at $65 per point is much cheaper. Maybe this person did look around B4 buying

There is no guarantee this sale will go through. I have not had good luck on Ebay with anything getting completed as seller or buyer. I haven't tried to sell anything of this price, but I wouldn't trust it.

I keep hearing people talk about problems on EBAY. My wife buys and sells old garbage Barbie dolls, I hope she doesn't read this. Those stupid dolls are often priced at several hundred to several thousand dollars. She has also bought and sold high end ice skates and horse stuff. I would have to say that she has been a buyer or a seller, more often a buyer, in probably 100-150 , maybe more, actually, transactions. She has never had any sort of problem at all.

She has spent several thousand and recieved that much several time. Never even a hint of a problem.

I think that in general, you are dealing with people just like yourself, would you rip someone off?

Personally, I love BW & we own there. Resales that are coming up lately are selling for the mid sixty range or higher... they are also gone very quickly... The difference between paying 65 a point & 73 per point for this package, is about 1600 dollars - a lot, but really in the overall scheme of things not a large price difference... The buyer found a package with points available, and wanted to get the package at whatever price... I would definitely buy a package for BWV's at 73.00 if it was a good package... BW is sold out, so you must pay what the market will support....

Hey guys, how do we know the auction is real. Ebay is notorious for people having fake actions to drive up prices. It works like I put up an item for sale. Then I have all my friends bid on the item making sure that I have a fake member id where I out bid everyone at the last minute no harm no foul. Personally I don't believe the auction price. It's too out of wack. If the auction is real, then the buyer did not do his/her homework and they deserve what ever they get.

Rich, I agree that there are plenty of legitimate transactions on E-Bay. A co-worker spends a great deal of his time in the Barbie trade as well! But, I think the collectors are much more likely to be above board than people selling other types of items.

I agree the collectors market on ebay is better than others. I have not had trouble with collectibles there either.

Consider yourself lucky. If there is a problem, ebay does not stand behind it. I have had two bad experiences, and have sworn off ebay for good now.

In November, a friend of mine sent me a copy of an e-bay auction on a pin - it was the castle with a Mickey silouette behind it. The bidding was in the $60 - $70 range, it was supposed to be a limited edition. She was thrilled because she got it earlier that month when she was at WDW for $6. When I was there in early December, I saw this pin everywhere. I asked a CM if it was a limited edition and she told me no. When the same friend & I were at WDW 3 weeks ago, we laughed everytime we saw that pin, it was still everywhere! Someone really got ripped off!

Problems are rare on EBAY. If you know what you are buying and looking for and check a seller's or buyer's feedback, you decrease your chances of a problem even more.

I also know a person that deals computer equipment on EBAY, he buys and sells, He does very well and considers EBAY as safe as your local CompUSA.

You would be surprised at what people will pay for items on EBAY. I have sold a few beanie babies on EBAY and received up to $75 for a beanie baby that cost me $7. I felt bad about taking the money and even emailed the person asking if they really wanted to pay that much and they told me they would buy more at the same price if I could get them. In over 100 auctions I had one problem where they never sent the money.
I think $73/ point is reasonable for BWV, IF, This is where you rally want to own. I stayed at BWV for the first time last week and absolutely fell in love with everything about the resort. If I didn't know about BWV, I would buy WLV or OKW or BCV or whatever resort on property was being sold but I feel very fortunate that we fell into BWV. If someone has experienced BW and fell in love, they would pay the premium price for the location.

I too have purchased many items on Ebay and sold a few without any problems.

But I doubt that the seller of that contract would dummy up the price. Not that it is not done but the seller pays Ebay a % of the actual selling price. If you bid it up high and that is the final bid - you lose.

Sometimes items sell for more than they should because bidders get caught up in the heat of the moment.

I have corresponded with the seller and am certain this is a legit sale of two DVC contracts. You could use an excrow service if you wanted and it would reduce the risk immensely. I think it's funny that I recently commented on this board that I wouldn't be surprised if a certain sale did not go through because it was too much and was accused of possibly afffecting the sale and that I'd be liable if something happened. Of course being the quiet, shy type I just apologized and agree, NOT.

I'm happy for the seller though and I guess for myself in case I finally decide to sell my second contract.

Update, the second half of this membership at OKW sold for $65.52 a point. I sure hope that this member is happy with the amount she has recieved.

I know of no other timeshare that a person can own for ten years or even two years and sell it for at least what it was purchased for, let alone more.

I sure am happy I purchased DVC.

I have purchased many items on ebay, I have never had a problem. It is great to find what you what or need.
