Can't answer the medication questions but regarding the funeral arrangements, the only thing we did in advance of my Mom passing on was picking out the cemetery location. She wanted to do that (as it turned out, we did that exactly 1 month to the day before she passed on), as she wanted to pick out her final resting place. Regarding the funeral home, she wanted too but I could not. So I had to deal with it afterward & I had my DH with me along with 2 cousins who helped me through it. There is a lot to cover though....we had to hit the funeral home, the florist, the Priest at the Church & then we also had to make restaurant choices/reservations for the luncheon afterward. I was so relieved that we did end up taking care of the cemetery before Mom passed on, as it made my life a tad easier. IF you have the courage & will, I would do as much as I could beforehand. Afterward, you have to deal with making decisions that you just can't even comprehend! I remember being a zombie walking around to choose a casket, etc...not easy.

Gosh, I wish I could just give you a great big hug right now.

Truthfully, it will be difficult whether it's all done before or after, so just do whatever you're able too now & if you need to wait, then just wait.

I've just gotten off the phone with C.Ann. She's on her way back up to the hospital. Her daughter (who now has the flu) is taking her. The nurse felt it would be any time, as he has been unresponsive most of the day. Unfortunately, Bill is hallucinating terribly, and he seems to be fearful that something is going to happen to C.Ann, so she hopes being there won't agitate him further. He is on the morphine now for break through pain, but the nurse doesn't think it's enough and says there is nothing further she can give him. He's having great difficulty breathing. I'm off in 10 hours, so I won't be able to give updates after that time.

This is terrible. I just wish there was something I could do, besides pray. I feel so sorry for all of them. Thanks for being such a good friend to C. Ann. She needs all the support she can get.
