70 to Freezing in 7 hours. A Nov/Dec 2011 trip report. Updated 4/28

Look like y'all had a nice, full day @ SeaWorld! :thumbsup2
It was a great day. Even though we did so much as well there was never a point it felt rushed either.

OMG! I'm so excited for you getting to go to DLP! PLEASE tell me you're going to do a TR with LOTS of pictures.
Eh of course... I have to have something to get me through until I figure out how to book another disney trip :rotfl: and I have three cameras which will be red hot after the trip :rotfl:

I took 3 years of French in high school and never even felt like I was close to the point that I'd be fluent enough to travel to a French speaking country. Now, 12 years removed from high school, I might be able to interpret a sentence that I read written in French if there's no time limit. :rotfl2::lmao:

I've never had a problem with confusing French for Irish though. :confused3 :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:
I don't know why that happens. I understand words in french like I know fromage is cheese jambon is ham and and can say my name and that stuff but fluent naw! With Irish mingling in I don't understand that at all. We start Irish when we're 4 or 5 over here and have to do it because it's our "natice" language even though very few people actually speak it still. You'd think learning Irish from 4 to 18 you'd be fluent but nope and now the French and Irish just mingle together in my brain! Will be fun trying though :goodvibes

Angel has a special announcement...

He's going to France:
SAM_1822.jpg

Not the pavillon in Epcot the real France... More importantly he's going to Le Chateau de la Mickey... oh yeah and I'm going as well :cool1:
Booked flights yesterday and my TA booked the hotel today. I was going to use that booking.com site but my TA actually got the hotel for less so :cool1::cool1:

I'm going in November the week before my graduation so can't wait and will be going to Disneyland 3 days hopefully. Have to book the tickets for that. I'm not staying in a Disney hotel but in a Disney partner hotel so still close to the parks. It's going to be wet and cold but I can't wait to see my Mickey Mouse in 117 days and counting

WAHOO Angel and Petals on the road again with a ticker!

Congratulations on your upcoming trip! It sounds wonderful!!!!!

I am continuing to love your Seaworld Christmas show pictures. The ice skating show looks so cool!

We can't wait. I got Duffy last time in Disney and his French outfit. I feel Duffy should come but he's staying at home because Angel comes everywhere. I tried the French outfit on Angel and it's to big for him so I'll just take the french hat :rotfl:

Congratulations on your upcoming trip! It sounds wonderful!!!!!
I just can't believe I have a Disney trip coming up!

Thanks :) I have video clips of that as well I'll put them all up eventually. I'm on my discovery cove day on my dvd making thing.

I was coming on to give out about how my computer is a slow piece of junk and the video camera that worked two days ago when attached to the computer and now the computer wasn't picking up and how my swearing at it wasn't making it working when suddenly the computer woke up and started reading it. :rotfl: life of it's own much! :confused3
I'm up to Seaworld on the videos now and watching the first bit of Seaworld video it reminded me at the start of One Ocean how the people arriving late for the show annoyed me because I was trying to video and it was hopping all over the place to avoid heads in my shot! :rotfl:
Also at the Countdown to Christmas show Clyde was not feeling it! A couple of the tricks they had to get him to do them again or it took him a while to actually want to! :rotfl:

Day 10, part 7:
So when I left you we had just made the mistake of going to the early Shamu show which now meant there was no more shows to see until the fireworks show which were at 10:55 and it was now just after 8:30 so what will we do? Momma was freezing and tired but we enjoyed the Shamu show so much we decided let’s just get better seats and wait for the next Shamu show so that’s what we did. They didn't close the stadium between shows like the did earlier in the day and some of the Seaworld workers were wandering around asking each other were people allowed stay in the stadium between shows and none of them knew so nobody kicked us out. There was still guys wandering around selling Seaworld merchandise as well so Momma bought a blanket wrapped it around herself and had a snooze. While I was waiting I sang along to the Christmas Karaoke on the big screen:

Then some dude came out and played Christmas songs on Saxophone until the show was about to start. The second time round I concentrated more on pictures since I had taped the first show so this is what I got:

This one is my fave:

This is why you don’t sit in the splash zone because when the whale goes in the water they make a big splash:

When we left Shamu stadium there was a group called the Conductors singing in front of the Polar Express. They were a bit like the Dapper Dans except no cool instruments:
SAM_2133.jpg

I saw these green lights off in the distance so wandered over to see what they were…Christmas Seahorsies:
SAM_2137.jpg

After that we decided to do the Polar Express experience but we took the walking version because Momma was afraid the stimulator would make her sick. You still sit through the same movie but no moving chairs and that. Then once the movie journey is over you leave through another door and follow the signs to the North Pole:

I was sure that purple one was for me but he forgot to deliver it maybe this year:

Next up: The end of a long day in Seaworld!

Nice Shamu pictures! :thumbsup2

And that's fun that they do something with Polar Express. My son loves that movie soooo much! We watch it year round. :sad2:

Thanks. I love that show. I was putting the video onto the computer tonight to make my dvd bits and cried watching the Christmas show again :rotfl:

Yeah that's normally wild artic they just add the North Pole bits and the Polar Express which are pretty cool. That place confuses me though because it always takes me a while to figure out how to get out :rotfl:

Day 10, part 8:
So we were travelling towards the North Pole and finally we round the corner to this site:
SAM_2143.jpg

And the big C himself standing greeting guests:
SAM_2145.jpg

We wandered around looking at the different animals. Mr. Polar Bear was having a snooze:
SAM_2147.jpg

Mr. Walrus was nowhere to be found but the Beluga’s were out and one of them was being naughty! He kept “bumping” the others. I think he has a problem because in 2010 he was doing the same… Seaworld should really look into that because smaller guests then ask Mammies and Daddies awkward questions lol:
SAM_2150.jpg

We eventually left the North Pole:
SAM_2154.jpg

Took a pic of this dude once two other kids stopped climbing all over it:
SAM_2155.jpg

Then we headed back towards the Bayside Stadium for the fireworks and caught the end of the Ice Skating show:
SAM_2158.jpg

We sat downstairs in the stadium so the view of the fireworks ended up being a little restricted but it was still a good show:

After the fireworks we headed back along the waterfront towards the exit and of course I took pics along the way:

We got a taxi back to the hotel because the iride was finished running and got a little surprise when we got back to the hotel because they had decorated the place with some Christmas trees:

We went to bed and fell asleep almost instantly after what I thought was a fun filled day in Seaworld. I don’t think Momma felt the same way though I think she thought it was to long a day or something. Then as I wrote this diary update I ran out of space in my trip diary. :scared1:

And just for fun one extra little pic of OP Otter from the Sea lion Christmas show. He was so cute:
sw5013_0001.jpg

I’d forgotten as well but looking through the pics again while we were waiting around the penguin encounter area to decide whether it was to early to queue for the Sea Lion’s Christmas show there was carnival games like the pick a duck type games and what not and Momma had a go and won two small penguins she was going to give to my doggies however they only got one and the other one may have hid out in my plushies collection :rolleyes1

Next up: Universal Fun

That is an Otter? Pulling a sleigh? :faint: Now I really have seen everything. :rotfl:

I continued to be impressed with how well Seaworld does Christmas. That's all included in admission, right? I have GOT to go there during Christmas. OK - I know I said that about 5 times already, but it looks so fun. Even the Christmas Karaoke! :thumbsup2

Yes it is.. I couldn't find the other clips of him when I pulled that off the video but he is alot more involved in the Christmas show than the daytime show.

Seaworld's Christmas was brilliant. I wasn't expecting it to have that much on. The Christmas stuff we missed were Sesame Street Christmas, show called O wondrous night which i think is about the nativity. We also missed Alure earlier in the day and we didn't do any of the rides but we were ok with that :) If you are going at Christmas time though you need to plan your Seaworld day for Friday, Saturday or Sunday because the Christmas stuff is only on at the weekends but if you look at the park hours you'll be able to figure out easy enough because park is open to 11 when Christmas stuff on and something like 6 or 7 when it's not!

You are really making me want to go back to Sea World. I really missed som much there on our short trip there last year.

And yay for DLP!!!! :cool1:

I was really glad to read about SeaWorld in your trip report. I think it's the 1st time I've seen a TR entry about it. I never would have guessed what a full day you could make there! :thumbsup2 for a fun-filled day!

Yeah there's loads in Seaworld. We always go early and then it's easier to plan the day and not miss any shows

Yeah i can't wait for that. It's been a while since I've been in Paris plus it's the 20th anniversary this year so will be good :)

We always go to all the parks. I suppose because we travel so far we just want to make the most of it and see everything we can.

Seaworld someone asked before about what time we arrived and stayed until I found the times after and the first show was at 10am so I think we got there about 9 then and stayed until park closed which was after 11pm but it was worth the long day imo

Thanks. that's such good information. There is a strong possibility I will be in Orlando November 2013 and I would love to check this out!

That's kind of neat that you could just hang out in the theater until the next Shamu show. I guess that's as good a way as any to kill some time. :rotfl2:

The Polar Express thing looks really cool. I guess Sea World does a pretty good job with the Christmas stuff too. :thumbsup2

I think the Seaworld stuff started Thanksgiving weekend so if you're going in November maybe aim for after then as well. I'm pretty sure that was one of the reasons we held off to then because Universal and Seaworld Christmas stuff started later than Disney.

The whales were swimming around and there wasn't much else to do at that stage except wait so we just got better seats :confused3 :goodvibes

It was fun. I wanted to go on the stimulator part but Momma was afraid she'd get motion sickness.
Seaworlds Christmas stuff was really good. Esp the Sea Lions show and Shamu's show

I have a question.. I've just been looking at a trip report where they had a picture of somewhere with DVC families pictures all over the walls. This sparked a memory of when we were there with the dancing school in 2005 and we danced at the Galactic Theatre or whatever it was called in Tomorrowland. They told us our photo would be going in the Disney Hall of Fame because it was the first time since the park opened that that outside theatre was full for the entire duration of a performance. They said normally for those performances people would wander in and out of the theatre because it's outdoors but for ours people stayed for the entire show. I'm wondering is it true that they have a Disney hall of fame and how can I see it to find if our picture really is there.

You sure make me regret not squeezing in Sea World on our trip!
