7-Night Western Caribbean Cruise July 25 - August 1, 2009

I guess I let the end of school kick me in the hiney....I log back in and all kinds of new stuff is going on!!

Can we play fish extender with you? I wondered on the last cruise what those fishy things were for...now I know! How cool is that??

We are staying in cabin 7120, and we are:

Lisa (Mommy)
Mark (Daddy)
Bethie (12 year old daughter)

Bethie is an only child, and is looking forward to making new friends on the cruise. It will be her last year in the Oceanear's Lab...and she want's it to be awesome!

Is anyone else going to be on the same excursions as us?

Key West: Conch Republic Tour and Museum Package
Grand Cayman: Nautilus Undersea Tour and Reef Snorkel
Cozumel: Cozumel Highlighs and Mayan Ruins
Castaway Cay: 10:00 stingray feeding

Wow...I can't believe it's so close!!

I'm looking forward to meeting all of you!

Lisa

Of course you can "play" with us! The more the merrier right?
Welcome back!!:chat:

We just got back last week from our last minute Eastern. We had a fantastic :goodvibes time! We were one of the lucky ones who got the "kids sail free" promotion, and were able to take advantage of that.:thumbsup2

Now that we're done with that one, I can seriously start the planning of this upcoming cruise! :cool1:

We're currently booked in 5520 & 5522. Would any of you out there happen to have 5524, and would be willing to do a room swap for 5520? It would be so much convenient to have the connecting rooms? :confused3 Anyone? I'll try to make it worth your while if you do. ;)

We're actually traveling with some friends of ours from Jolly Old England. I'll have to drop them a note to see if they want to join in on the FE exchange or not, and will let you know. It's their 1st DCL cruise, so still learning the ropes.

Time is moving to quickly, just over a month to go! :cool1::scared1::woohoo:

Yeah!! School is finally out for summer! Now that I have some time, I will compile the list of FE participants....so get your cabin numbers in!

Well, this is our first cruise and we jumping in with both feet :yay: Count us in for the FE fun. I ordered one on ebay today:earsboy:. We'll be in cabin 8000, myself, my DH and our DDs ages 13 and 10. Am I gonna need an extra bag to carry all the give aways? :scared1: Not exactly sure what I've gotten myself into here...

It's been a while , I had issues with my logging and it took me this long to actually sit and reset the whole thing, but I am finally back and happy that the date is sooooo close, I will read all the postings since what I want is to get an idea of what all of you are doing, let me get up to date and will talk. Blessings

You can count us in on the FE deal. :thumbsup2

We are currently in Cabin #6556, but hoping for a little pixie dust upgrade pixiedust

We have me (DH-39), DW (turning 39 in a week :headache:), DS 11 (on June 25) and DD (8).

We are ready to cruise!!! :dance3:

Susan, do they have any DVC events (get togethers, etc.) on the cruise? If so, do you know what day or time is typical? (We just recently bought into DVC). Thanks!

Yes WideEyed...they do have DVC meets on board, and they leave little gifts in your room... Warning... my husband has a tendency to buy more points when we are on board...he swears it's the best deal... KEEPS ME HAPPY

Susan C[/QUOTE]

Another new DVC family here! looking forward to meet with you guys, I guess as soon as we board and after the departure party I'll check at the counter for special DVC member happenings, I'll be showing my new DVC beach bag!

Thank you for putting the roll together it will be me DH, DD 4 and DS 16 are we taking room numbers? because we got room 2106

ok i'm up on things now, I am not sure what we have to make to do the FE I also am a scrap booker and not a sewing person......help!! We have rooms 6551 and 6553 I wanted the large suite but they were all gone when we booked.:guilty::scared:
we are doing the glass bottom boat tour in key west, seven mile beach in grand cayman, our big kids are doing the wild side in castaway cay, two are doing bottom fishing and some of us are doing the eco tour in castaway cay. DH and I are having a couples massage/couples choice on day 6. I am hoping this is the one with the vista on the web site it is but in the booking it doesnt mention it?:rolleyes1 we booked our palo dinner that night also, Im just hoping that is a good night its at 9pm.

are any other teens going on the wild side in castaway cay?

Thank goodness after reserving exc. so late what we wanted was still in there!:worship::woohoo::yay:

My DS 16 is doing it, that is why I believe is crucial the meet on the first day of the cruise, him being a teen is kind of hesitant about the whole Disney thing, as a matter of fact he didn't go with us the first time, only my DD 4 years, I am glad your boys are doing the wildside too!

As of now, I am most looking forward to the first sight of the ship while driving up and the excitement of going aboard and the sail-away party. I'm also looking forward to pulling a chair into the ocean on Castaway Cay with a frosty beverage in my hand, the sun on my face and my feet in the water. Other than that, as a newbie, I'm excited for everything else that I really have no idea how awesome it's going to be!!!

"As of now, I am most looking forward to the first sight of the ship while driving up and the excitement of going aboard and the sail-away party." You had just brought tears to my eyes! bcause I remember so vividly the feeling of the first time!

Me (DW), DH, DS 16 and DD 4 cabin #2106 need to mention this is a Birthday Celebration DH turns 33 years old on July 26 and DD turns 5 years old on July 30, it was great that both birthdays fit during the cruise days, I do believe we need to put together a "formal FE list" with kid's ages, people traveling and room #s and special celebrations if any. I had never done this but I saw it last time and it's so coooool!!!

There are several DS age 11 on this cruise. Do any of them have email privileges and want to communicate before the cruise? Our DS11 :3dglassesenjoys getting to know some cruise friends ahead of time. :wave2: Makes it nice to have a buddy in Ocean Quest.

Not that I'm stressing or anything....I just like to fondle the envelope.

I'm thinking about renting a tux for the hubby for formal night. Has anyone ever used the tux service? They sound reasonable enough, but not if the clothes are worn out and icky.

Oh wow...I have 4 weeks to teach the hubby to dance. Wish me luck!

We have rented tuxes before. My guys looked very sharp in them. It was very easy to have an alteration made on one that was too big. It also saved room in the suitcase for the important stuff I wanted to shop for.;)

Now as seasoned cruisers, my DH and DD14 bring their own sport coats and all my guys wear ties. They still look sharp!:lovestruc

We won't see you at the Beach Club but..... we're staying at Kidani, our first DVC stay.:simba::stitch::tigger::earsgirl:

I did not rent tuxedos for the last cruise, I may do it this time, otherwise they are going to be in suits.
I have not started paperwork, but the last time did not take me an hour so I would not stress over this,
I'd never been at Beach Club but I heard is very pretty. Kidani Village is fantastic we just came back from Animal Kingdom Lodge, the pool area is great and the food at Boma is sooooo good that I will not waste time and money doing Jiko, you are going to love it! We are new DVC members too, haven't use the points the first time yet! don't forget to ask in the concierge desk for your "perks book" it has lots of discounts. What I have started already is a heavy duty diet, trying to drop 5 - 10 pounds and I had been running but the Miami heat it's been brutal:scared: even early in the morning.
I am getting stress out about the FE organization and the meet, and the list of Disers going! can we do this already???????

If anyone would like me to email it to them, just PM me. I have it at work, so I will have to send it tomorrow.
