7 Months, Changing Resort and Borrowing

Hi.
I currently have a reservation booked at BLT for a pre cruise stay in a one bedroom for December 27-29, 2014. I was able to book this trip since I had points transferred into my account and booked on my own (I didn't have enough points left to do on my own).
I decided yesterday to begin my pre cruise stay on December 26 so booked at SSR for one night, which is my home resort, using up my last 25 points and borrowing 2.
At 7 months, I would like to try to extend my stay at BLT and get December 26 in the one bedroom so I won't have to move. By booking the one bedroom at BLT, I will also have to borrow more points but that is ok.
Knowing this may be short of a miracle, what though do I need to do.
I cannot book this online at 7 months, is that correct?
Is it correct I have to call MS at whatever time they open (8 am?) and ask them to please see if BLT is available for December 26 for a one bedroom?
If not, can I put on a waitlist even though I will need to borrow points from my next U/Y (which I can since I was able to borrow 2 points for my SSR stay). Can I waitlist a studio and/or one bedroom? I would much prefer a one bedroom since that would mean I would not have to move.
I would appreciate any and all information I can get.

On May 26, you can go on-line at 8 a.m. eastern and if you see it open for Dec 26, you can book it. If you need the points in the existing SSR reservation to do so, cancel it first (SSR is usually open at 7 months particularly a 1BR so you can likely get that back if need be). You can borrow points when doing the on-line reservation.

If you are able to reserve it just do so as a separate reservation and then call MS later (or email it) and request it to link your two BLT reservations as one.

If it is not avaialble, keep the SSR reservation and get on a waitlist for that night, both 1BR and studio (if you also want that studio option) under which the SSR reservation would be cancelled first and points borrowed as needed to do the BLT reservation.

In other words, you can do this on-line, and you can borrow points while doing it on-line.

Verify availability at BLT before you cancel SSR. If you waitlist, keep the SSR reservation and instruct MS to cancel it and use the points for the BLT booking if inventory becomes available.

I agree.. ALWAYS (if at all possible) book the new room before cancelling the old one.

It is not open May 26 but the on-line system will be open. Note, I am assuming you want to use the points in the SSR reservation for BLT if you can get it. To do that you will need to cancel SSR first if you see BLT is open but you should not cancel SSR unless you see BLT is open. In fact what you should do before 8 a.m. eastern on May 26 is chack to make sure SSR is still open (so you know you can get it back if you lose out on BLT), and also check to see if BLT is open on Dec 26th by searching a request for Dec 25 arrival to 27 departure. Thus, you can learn just before 8 whether you have a chance.
