7 month window starts tomorrow. Do I have a chance?

So, my hubby and I decided today that we would take a trip just the two of us in October for a few nights. My mom said she's watch our kids. Our 7 month window would start tomorrow. Check in would be Oct 5th.

I would like to try BWV...do you think there is any chance I will get Standard View? We are doing Sun-Wed to try to save some points. Our second choice would be AK standard view, third choice, OKW. ( I don't want BC or VWL bc they are more points per night. What do you think?

I think your chances of BWV standard view are next to nothing. Those booked day by day when the eleven month window opened because you are in Food and Wine and I'm fairly sure waitlists have been in place for months already.

thanks...I thought so but I was hopeful. Anyway, I guess we'll try for Animal Kingdom. It shouldn't be as hard to get during F&W.

There is a thread up right now that says VAKL is pretty completely booked for 08 already - a night here and there.

oh well..We already stayed at AKV. I guess we will be trying OKW..Never been there. I don't really care too much where we stay.....it will be wonderful anyway.

That's what I was going to say. I booked my October ressie, day-by-day for a standard view studio at the 11 month window. This was the one reason why I bought points at BWV--for food and wine.


OP, good luck and let us know where you ended up! Maybe you'll get lucky. If you're doing a day-by-day, the CMs are pretty good at letting you know what your chances are by looking ahead for you.

you are sweet. thanks....I would take SSR as a last resort. It's not that I don't like it, we were hoping to stay somewhere new.

I would think OKW would be available - and who knows, you might get lucky with VAKL or your BWV Standard View - here's hoping!

(I need one night in October - we want VWL - and I have a feeling I'm going to end up with SSR - which I don't like - but its one night before we move to the Boardwalk - we decided to fly in a day early).

If you weren't trying for Sun-Wed, I'd say yes. I just called this week to add a F&W Festival trip for just DH and me, too. We own at BWV though. I originaly asked for Oct 10-13 and standard view studio was available for Fri and Sat but not Sun night. Then yesterday we switched days to Oct 17-21 and I was able get preferred view studio for all 4 nights. I believe I had a choice though between preferred and Standard view. Just not boardwalk view.

I wouldn't count anything out. When I called last week to book the opening weekend of F&W at BWV, I was given a choice as well (Standard, Preferred or Boardwalk-View). I booked for Sunday Sep 28 to Wed Oct 1. I chose Boardwalk View and got a HA room. I wasn't expecting it either. But they said there was plenty of availability for my dates.

I had also checked VWL and AKV. The only one they said had just a few units/days was AKV Value units.

I could be wrong, but I thought the beginning of F&W had more availability than Columbus weekend on. (Mid-October to Mid-November). At least it seemed a lot busier after the 12th.

FWIW....

Last year we were able to get BWV during F&W and Jersey week at 6 months out. The only thing was I didn't request a standard view.

the BWVs are great during F&WF (especially if there's any chance you might decide to "drink around the world" ). of course, your chances are much better if you will take any view (in all likelihood, preferred water/garden).
imho, the few extra points are sooooo worth walking "home" from IG

I just added a day (Monday of Veteran's week) to our reservation at AKV and had no trouble getting our value studio for another day.

I was actually shocked that I called at the 7-month window this week (Monday) for a studio at BCV and got it, no waitlist, nothing. So we are booked for Sept. 30th thru October 4th at BCV in a studio, our first stay there and I can't wait!
