7 month window starts tomorrow. Do I have a chance?

I was put on a waitlist so I can tell things are definitely changing!

My trip is for Oct 4 - Oct 10 and I was able to get the 4th no problem but I called today for the 5th and was put on a waitlist for a 2BR at BCV.

So anyone else on the same boat???

It's not F&W time, but I was able to get a BWV Preferred view studio at 7 months out for 09/20/08 - 09/27/08- way excited!!!

thanks for all of the pixie dust....so we called today and got.....BWV preferred view...so I decided I really wanted to stay there so we ate up the extra points. She also said she would put a "hold" on the next 2 nights that we needed but we still need to call tomorrow. I don't know what that means...oh well I am very HAPPY!!!

oh well..We already stayed at AKV. I guess we will be trying OKW..Never been there. I don't really care too much where we stay.....it will be wonderful anyway.

I would at least try BWV, DW and I have done it at 7 months for F+W, although not a standard or boardwalk view. Can't hurt to ask, just tell ms what you want in the order you would prefer and let them do the work.

I think you'll enjoy the location. The standard view rooms are a bargain, but the preferred view rooms are still a good value - particularly over Food and Wine when October points are low and Epcot calls.

A hold does indeed mean there's availability for your remaining nights. It also means they've temporarily blocked it for you. The catch is that you need to make sure you call the next days to add your room. I'm not sure how long that hold lasts.

When I booked my HA boardwalk view studio last week, I made sure I called promptly at 9am each day. I was lucky in that I was booking Sep 28 - Oct first and my 7 mos window opened Feb 29. So when I called back Mar 1 to add the next day I actually booked 2 days at once.

I'm in a similar boat as to the OP. I started calling on the 2nd to book day-by-day reservations at BWV in a Boardwalk view. I got the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in the 2 BR Boardwalk view for October. Today I called and had to wait list for the 5th, and she said that, as of today, I'll need to wait list for the 6th as well (our last night). I'd rather do that than have to wait list for nights in the middle of the trip, but I was bummed. I was thrilled to get those first 4 nights with no problem (Wed-Sat night), so I'm VERY hopeful that someone will win an all-expense paid trip to Fiji or somewhere so they have to cancel their 2 BR Boardwalk view. (I don't want to wish someone bad on another DVC member! ) We booked a 2 BR preferred view for the 5th and will do the same for our last night.

The CM at MS was really nice - she said that since I was wait listing on the first day possible for that date, my chances are great that I'll get it as long as someone cancels. QUESTION regarding the wait list: I thought I remembered someone saying that the wait list shows up on the member website - I checked and saw nothing. The actual on a "waitlist" does not show on the DVC website. When your waitlist comes thru and MS books your waitlist, it will appear on the DVC website under your planned vacations. Then you will get a conf. letter in the mail to comfirm that your dates were booked.

I had a waitlist for a few days before Easter and i was just checking out my planned vacations and there it was, my waitlist was booked. Then about 10 days later i finally got my conf. letter. When i got my conf. letter in hand then i canceled my cash ressies for those dates. ( i wanted to make sure it was not a computer error before i canceled my cash ressies).

Got my next day talked to Catherine (who also booked for my hubby yesterday) too funny.

OMG....I am going to have so much fun planning this one. I am not going to know what to do with myself without chasing around kids.

Since its F&W festival would it be silly to do the dining plan/? My husband mentioned doing deluxe but I just don't know if I want all of those sit down meals....what do you guys think?

Before I would consider the dining plans, I would see what the schedule is. There may be a special meal, presentation that DH and I would want to attend. Since these wouldn't be included on the dining plan that would enter into my decision.

I was just wondering if anyone has ever done the deluxe too, to see if they felt it was worth it.

I guess if we are going for 3 nights and you get 3 sit down credits/night, that would be 9 each. Which would also allow us to eat fully on the first and last day. I don't know.
