7 month window for December 2006?

All this talk about the CP has made me yearn to see it. I can't go this year, but would like to next December. I wouldn't be able to make a reservation until April when I am able to borrow my 2007 points!

What are the chances of getting a studio onsite at the 7 month window (I own at VB)? I would need to go sometime between December 12 and December 22. I suspect it would be easier to get something closer to the 12th?

My other thought would be to rent some points at the 11 month window and let my own points build up (between you and me, that won't happen, I will just take another trip).

Any December ressie stories out there?

Actually I think the 14th to 22nd might be easier because the 1st to the 14th are the lowest point season. BWV, VWL and BCV might be hard to get but you should be able to get into OKW or SSR

In Sept. '04, we got a BWV studio for Dec. 19 - 22. We own at BWV but didn't plan to go earlier, we did fine. At first we were going to be moving, PV, BW V, PV, in the end, we were all PV. I think you'll be Ok!

Call day by day when the 7 month window opens and be prepared to waitlist. If you are willing to stay at SSR or OKW, you probably won't have to waitlist.

There is a good chance you won't have to waitlist for PV - Pool/Garden at the BWV either. SV or PV-Boardwalk view at the BWV will be very difficult - even if you waitlist.

VWL and BCV will be more difficult, but not impossible, especially if you are willing to waitlist for each day you need on an individual day basis.

P.S. Watch out! Once you go during early December, it will be very hard to stay away in the future. I know this because I have been comding every year since my first early December trip in 1998. It's so hard to imagin going any other time!

We got a studio at BVC at the 7 month mark this year with no waiting list.
There is hope! Oh yes, it was for Dec 14 thru 18, Wed thru Sun.

I'm assuming that by your post, you have an April Use year. You don't have to wait until April to borrow your points, you just can't use borrowed points from '07 until the beginning of your '06 UY. So if you own DVC points at a WDW resort (ie not VB or HH), then you can book your December '06 stay at your home resort in January using borrowed '07 points because you won't actually be using them until after the beginning of your '06 UY. Then in May (at the 7 month mark), you can try to change your reservation to another resort.

Muushka - We also got BCV at 7 months out from Dec 10-13, Sat-Tue w/o having to go on a waitlist either.

You never know! One year I forgot to call at exactly 11 months for a studio for 12/6-13. Fortunately, when I called at 10 1/2 months, they still had availability at BCV (which is what I wanted) and OKW. VWL and BWV had no availability for studios. At 7 months, I decided to add 1 night and try for BWV. Imagine my surprise when it was available at 7 months, when it hadn't been available at 10 1/2 months. And a standard view studio at that, which are even harder to come by! So it's just a matter of being lucky, I guess-you never know!
