7 Month Booking?

We are purchasing OKW resale and will close in late November or early December. This was a solution to a large familly trip for this summer Rather than renting a large amount of points. My question is: How difficult will it be to get BWV standard studio or AKV value or standard studio at the 7 month window. These are the kids first and second choices. What should we expect for this timeframe?

BWV standard can be difficult to get at 7 months out any time of year. Some have succeeded but many have not. It is only 20% of the rooms at BWV and BWV owners tend to fill them in the 11 month window.

AKV value has not had enough time to develop into a pattern yet but likely you will have the same problem there -- low number points resulting in high AKV owner demand for very low number of rooms in the category resulting in little or nothing available at 7 months.

AKV standard will likely be different once all rooms are done and you may find availability at 7 months many times of year. There are not that many standards at Jambo but there will be a significant number at Kidani and having savanna rather than standard view is a reason majority are likely buying at AKV.

If you are more open to ANY view room at BWV, then the 7 month window should not be an issue. If you do not have points for anything other than standard view, then you may have an issue.

I can not speak for AKV, too new and we have never stayed there.

We're in the 7 month window for Kidani in May and I couldn't get a savannah view studio there for my DS, but there was standard view there. Jambo still did have savannah view, but we want to be in the same building.

We went to BWV this past July with a group of family & our 2 eldest kids with friends along. In our experience we were able to get 3 standard view rooms at BWV for this past July calling at exactly 7 month booking window & just under 5 months out, however, I don't want to make it sound like this is ~typical~ because in most cases it is not ... I do think we just got VERY lucky all around with reservations for this trip. (fyi, even though we did want BWV all in our group were willing to stay at another DVC if it wasn't available so we weren't particular about where we had to stay). Since all our points are at OKW we had to wait until 7 month window so on date window opened booked 2 standard view studios July 6 check-in for 5 nights S-Th.

The group grew in size so we then needed to also add a 1 bedroom standard view in mid-February (called I think on Feb 19) but the first night (July 6) wasn't available so we booked M-Th at BWV and booked a studio at SSR for July 6 so at the very least we'd have that for July 6 and we waitlisted for that night for 1 br standard at BWV.

The waitlist did not come through for that night before the list expired (that is 1 week before the date wanted) so then I had to call daily from June 29 and as luck would have it on July 2 I was able to get 1 bedroom standard at BWV for our first night .
