Please, please, please do not turn this into a debate thread. Please!! I am asking a legitimate question here.

When you are in this queue and you get to the section where it becomes interactive with the little jewel game (drop 3 in a cart or something like that) and the colored water game (if it is a game) and people stop to play leaving a long space between a moving line and where you are stopped for the games, do you walk around them and stay with line or do you stop until they are finished playing the game? I never want to cut in front of anybody, but the reason I ask is because we were literally stopped for 6 minutes down the line because families stopped to play games and we could hear them telling people not to cut in front of them. A cast member came out and directed people to keep the line moving and if people wanted to play they could move on when ready.

Personally, I think a small gap is okay to just leave and wait it out because its not like staying on the heels of the person in front of you gets you on the ride any faster. But more than a small gap should just get filled in and then people playing should just rejoin.

I would not mind waiting a bit while someone finishes up, but I agree with the cm, that if you want to stay for a while, folks should move around. But, I would probably wait for the cm to direct me around. I think they like to keep the lines moving, even though it wont get you on the ride quicker, but it is better than being at a stand still.

:wave2:

I agree with above. If a short time, best to wait a bit, if a long wait, pass them up. If I was in either situation, waiting or playing, don;t think I would mind.

Solo? Enjoy!!

I'm fine with a brief wait (similar to what it would have taken to snap a photo with Mr. Potatohead at TSMM) I have to think 6 minutes would have left a crazy huge "gap" though. What they did was incredibly rude. Did they expect every group to stop the line like they did?

6 minutes, I would've laughed and walked around them.

A brief wait to experience the game is fine. Take 30 seconds to a minute and enjoy it, then move on. Any longer and it's clear the line is being held up, then everyone should walk around and fill in the line. Most adults I see don't play the game though. They'll let their kids stay and play the game and the adults will keep moving with the line, then the kid will catch up.

CM's always tell you to keep the line moving and on lines where it's not single file to fill in all available space. That if those in front of you don't want to fill in the space to pass them and fill it yourself. I've passed by plenty of people on pirates of the Caribbean and the Kilimanjaro Safari because they want to make it single file.

I do wish they had spread the games out a bit, instead if just the two areas, so people wouldn't feel the need to rush through playing or others feel the need to pass so quickly. It's really not (at most times of day) affecting the time to actually board the ride. But I'm really loving all the interactive queue stuff across the board--it really does make wait time pass so much faster!

we had same issue at soaring. A lot of people would just cling to the right side wall and watch people leaving the ride. This left the whole center and left side open. this walkway is 6 plus ft wide . We just walk by them all and fill in on the left. We got looks but if everyone stayed on one side and not fill in the line would go out and up the escalators and out the entrance.

They choose to stay with the game. I'd walk around and move on. I'd hesitate first to see if they would move with the line, but if they don't they shouldn't hold up the line. And it seems the cast member agrees.

We had a similar issue in the Peter Pan queue. We hit it at rope drop so it was a walk on. The group in front of us stopped to play with the shadow thing for several minutes and we couldn't get around them. There started to be quite a build up behind us too so when they finally did move on, I felt like we couldn't spend anytime playing. At least with the Dumbo area, you aren't holding anyone else up if you decide to play longer.

If the cast members can be consistent with telling the line to keep moving, nobody would look like the bad guy for trying to pass game players. The first time I had to stand in a long line behind the jewel players for this ride, there wasn't a cast member in sight.

People have no business blocking the line while playing the games. Go past them. If the line blockers are too insistent, I would immediately complain about this at Guest Relations.

I expect we'll be moving slow through PP flight as well as SDMT this next trip. We'll be sure and allow anyone who wants to pass us by, to do so. If it happens that someone is holding us up, I would hope they'd do the same but until I see that holding the line is actually delaying getting on the ride, I'm not going to complain. I expect this is an issue for the CM to handle and if they didn't I'd complain at guest services. I'm quite sure they're supposed to. I wouldn't take it upon myself to pass someone in line- unless it was just insanely backed up.

We went around. We probably waited a minute or two, but went in to fill the gaps after they didn't move.

We went around at the Safari when a family in front of us tried to block the entire line at stroller drop off while they picked up kid out of stroller, rearranged things, got the right bags, etc, etc, instead of moving all the way into the stroller corral to get situated. They made nasty comments about rude line cutters but they were holding up everything getting themselves together. :confused3 Lots of us just continued around them and let them fuss. I would have done the same thing at the interactive games.

We let DS stay and play, while one of us stayed with the line. DH encouraged people to continue around them if they seemed to be waiting. They met back up with me way before we left the outer queue area with the games. Just go by after a bit. Be polite and say excuse me or ask if you can proceed by, if you feel bad.
