7 day Western - May 7, 2005???

thanks for the encouraging comments about taking DS6 out of school early- :goodvibes his asthma has been a mess this spring and i just can't afford for him to get sick(asthma can turn simple colds into bronchitus or worse)

i'v got to make my 10th trip to walmart (in one week) today  and the dollar store- i have compiled a list of tolitries, misc., medical, important stuff & clothes (whew i'm exhausted just thinking about all the little things i still have to get)

DH says we have plenty of time to get things together:sad2: .......well, he's not the one packing, i am :earseek:

i guess the most important thing for me to remember is relax and have fun

Bratray,

Does your DH know my DW? :rotfl2:

While I've been shopping and making sure everything is getting done, she's been making fun of me and telling me to relax. We'll see who's laughing when they've forgotten to bring something. ;)

See ya in less than 2 weeks. :)

Harris

Hey all -

Can you believe NO documents here yet? But, SIL (Kaykels / Rachel) called DCL yesterday and was told they're being printed in the next couple of days and will be sent right out. No upgrades for any of us, so there goes THAT theory, but that's okay 'cuz we're just thrilled to be going. And, all three of our staterooms are on Deck 6 Aft.

I, too, stopped in at WalMart today... just for "a few things". Does anyone get out of there for less than $100? Can you only imagine how much money WalMart makes on DISers alone? LOL! We should demand a discount! ;)

Hope all the "boo-boos" are healing. I'm adding myself to the "impaired" list due to lots of nausea, compliments of my little Butterball. :crazy2: But the good news is that it doesn't really stop me from eating... I feel my best while I'm eating. No doubt the Palo Souffle is a cure! I see my doctor tomorrow so you can be sure I'll be begging for some relief.

We leave next Thursday, so only 9 days for us! I'M SO EXCITED! Can't wait to meet you all!

Donna,
I'm convinced that Walmart has some kind of subliminal message coming through there sound system saying, "Spend, spend, spend". In answer to your question, NO, you cannot get out without spending at least $100.

Harris,
A husband that packs...you are an endangered species! :rotfl2: God bless you!

We're arriving at Orlando airport Saturday morning, 10:30ish. Hope to meet some of you there.

:wave2: Linda

Linda,

It's not by choice. It's called being a Virgo!!!

My wife is lucky in more ways than one. :teeth: :earseek: :rolleyes1

See you soon!

Harris

PS When my wife reads this, I'm in HUGE trouble. :guilty:

Harris - Great buy on the luggage. I'm going to pick up some sand toys for the girls since we'll have awhole day at Cocoa Beach on Friday :sunny: I'm trying not to buy any of the new SW stuff. I'm convinced they take the old stuff and just repackage it  I'm actually selling some of my Episode I stuff at our upcoming garage sale in May :sad2: I know I know... I should be shot :guilty:

I very RARELY get out of Walmart under $100, but it has happened ;) I'm trying to get a list together so I'm not just roaming around there, which usually gets me in trouble.

You guys are kind of freakin' me out with all your aliments ;) Everyone stay healthy and be ready to party in 9 days (okay, 11 days till we're on board) :cool1: :cool1:

Still no packing here. I saw the new Doctor today and I have to get an MRI on my foot tomorrow. Then I see him again next week (Tuesday) for the results. He said if nothing major shows up on the MRI that I will just have to wait it out. I can't believe 8+ weeks have gone by and I am still dealing with this.

I'm trying to plan ahead as if we are still going on the trip unless the Doctor says otherwise for some reason. I called a company in FL today to check on wheelchair rentals for the cruise. I also let the airline know I might need a wheelchair to get to the gates, etc.

I figure a cruise is one of the best places to be while injured because there are tons of activities to keep you busy and lots of places to stop and rest. DH and I really need the rest and relaxation, even if this makes things a bit more difficult. Also, we wouldn't be able to reschedule until at least September, and that is hurricane season! It also wouldn't be our anniversary then.

Hope everyone else is feeling better!

Hello everyone :cool1:
Glad to hear everyone is healing up..I on the other hand will NOT be able to go swimming and will have to carry the cane in case of complications.. It just so happens that back in 2002 on the eastern cruise I also had an infection on the same foot.hummmm.. :earseek: I will have to cancel the excursions but, that's ok as there is plenty to do otherwise.. I found today that all the door magnet signs I did months ago have faded on the fridge.. I have made 2 felt pads with magnets on the back and will print new ones on photo paper and then insert them in sleeve protectors mounted on the foam..I went to the foot doc today and can now wear tennis shoes with paddeing in them but, I am still staying in bed(gained 20 pounds)(Tera I found the weight you lost...)What really kills me is not being able to ride Lucille with the new rims and light installed 3 weeks ago.. O well it is FL and it is time to ride :moped: Does anyone want to do brunch at Palo's during a day at sea--Monday or Thursday? I think that getting on the ship early enough and going to Rocking D one of us could make arrangements for a group get together...To me and DW brunch is better than dinner... Well got to go and work on the buttons again.. James and D.Anne pirate: aaaarrrrrhhhhh

You're all right about the $100 at Wal-mart. I can't go in there without spending at least that much. Lately it's more than once a week. MY family was laughing at me today because I have a binder with all the info I've gotten from the DIS. Excuse me I'm organized at something.( there's nothing else I'm organized at) :rotfl:

There's just so much to do!!!!!!!!! 9 MORE DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :cool1:

I agree it is better to keep the kids home if you can. DGD is in 2nd grade so we can't keep her home. She'll be missing a week as it is. When we come home, she goes to school for a week before summer starts. :cheer2:

Harris,
Can you give my husband some pointers on packing? He says it's way too soon.

debbie :wave2:

Jott3,
I sure hope your foot feels better in the next week. I'll keep my fingers crossed while your waiting for the MRI results. We wouldn't want you to miss the cruise. I looking forward to seeing everyone on board.

James,
Sorry to hear you can't go in the water but you'll have lots of fun anyway. There's plenty to do. Sorry we won't be able to dance. :dancer: :dancer: We'll just get you to sing instead. Doing Brunch at Palo's sounds great. That would be fun if we could all get together. Just let me know when.

Debbie

Hey Cruise Buddies

I haven't posted in awhile, but I have been reading everyday. I am doing the exact opposite of you guys, UNPACKING! Last Wednesday was my 30th birthday and my husband surprised me with a trip to my favorite place in the world...DISNEYWORLD!!! We drove down on Wednesday night and came back Sunday night. We also stayed at the Grand Floridian!! :earseek: (Don't know where all the moo-lah is coming from, but we have big celebrations this year with our birthdays and 10th anniversary). We had a blast, but I also got sick on Sunday with either a cold or sinus infection. Feeling somewhat better now, better be back to 100% soon. I would hate to not be able to taste that wonderful cruise food next week!!

Well, have to now unpack so I can pack this weekend! At least we found out what we needed for the big trip next week. Only 9 more days!!! :Pinkbounc

We are driving down (6 1/2 hours) on Friday and staying at Ron Jon's.

James -- we have brunch ressies (due to REAS) for Thursday at 11:30. It would be neat if everyone else could meet at that time? But, Debbie did say she was booked for Thursday with Brunch Ressies. She said our cruise had LOTS of big groups/parties.

Can't wait to meet you next Saturday in the sun :sunny:

Jott 3 and James -
Sending lots of pixie dust for those feet! :wizard:

Auercat-
Sure hope you'll still be cruising with us - after your wife gets hold of you! May the Force be with you! :rotfl2:

Bratray -
Would you add my neighbor and her family to our DIS list? She posted here once but is having serious computer trouble. She's been reading as she can to keep up on all the news. Thanks so much!

Are the Cruise Meet plans still for Deck 10 at 3:00pm?

The Brunch idea sounds great.... just wonder if we'd all be able to get in at one time. Sounds like Debbie (REAS) has got lots going on. And to think this isn't even a full ship!

Well we just got home from our trip to Walmart and did well, spending LESS than $100. Of course, it was $96.84... but still under $100 ;) I think I have everything we need (still need a extra video camera battery, but I'll get that at Best Buy) and will finish up packing this weekend.

James - Sorry to hear about your foot, but I'm sure you'll suffer through all the fun ;)

Jott3- Just think.. you'll get bumped to the front of the line :goodvibes I hope the news from the doctor is good.

8 More Days :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Can you believe we have been planning for so long!!!!

James so sorry to hear about your foot :guilty:

Harris My hubby is also the packer in the family.
I gather and he packs we will be sure we have everything checked twice this weekend.....

I am staying AWAY from Walmart that place is dangerous :p

Maria Tia I am glad you had fun at WDW

James we agree Brunch is just as good if not better that dinner

we already have brunch ressies for Mothers day on Key west day thanks to
REAS. I hope you can get others to go

To all others that have Boo Boo's here is some pixie dust :wizard:

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

harris...you are tooo funny :rotfl: - i am a virgo too- so i guess that explains the obsessive compulsive, organized behavior...i would pass out if my DH packed something :faint:

walmart is bad, bad, bad- i think instead of having my check automatically deposited into my bank account it should just go to walmart! (they end up getting it anyway)

Jott3- i really hope your foot is okay for you to go on the cruise- thinking lots of positive thoughts for you!! :goodvibes

james... no swimming??.. well i have a remedy for that... we can all still sit by the pool and sip some tropical :drinking1 drinks.. my DH has diabetes too so i know that sometimes it can be a struggle

tiggerzfan- i will add your friends to the list :flower:

posting the list on this page just so everyone can get a look at it again and let me know if any revisions need to be made

8 days and i will be away from this cold weather!!

PLEASE welcome MOMMYMOUSE a new dismeet member- i am adding her information to our list :wave2:

walmart is bad, bad, bad- i think instead of having my check automatically deposited into my bank account it should just go to walmart! (they end up getting it anyway)

Lisa-I'm so damned organized it's scary. Today my luggage tags ordered through Staples came in, but did not include the little straps to attach them to the luggage. I spent all morning tracking down ten little straps. :earseek:

Also, thanks for compiling the poster on cruise list. We are on Deck 8 with Mom, Mother-in-law, bro and brother-in-law on Deck 6. I think that my wife, kids and I got sent far way from the rest of the family. :rotfl:

goofytoo- Good thing avoiding Wal-Mart. But today I made the mistake of going to Costco and found some cool OP and Tommy stuff on sale. Just had to buy it...$150.00 later. :guilty:

tiggerz- I'm still posting, so that is definitely a good sign. But look out, Mrs. Auercat has been browsing here! :rolleyes1

Debbie- Sorry, can't help you with the hubby. Either your born an overorganized, obsessive-compulsive Virgo or you're not. It looks like HE won the genetic lottery, :rotfl2:

Tera- You win The Price is Right for not going over. Happy Bob Barker

9 Days Left. See you all next week!

MRI went ok today, now I just have to wait, wait, wait for the results. Thanks for all the get well wishes!

James, have you seen these XeroSox waterproof cast covers at http://www.waterproof-cast-cover.com/? I had one when I had my casts (for the shower), and it worked really well. Not sure if it would work for you or not.

Thanks for adding us to the list....late comers that we are!

We live in Ormond Beach FL, and just booked this trip in Feb. Actually had another cruise booked for July and found out we could get a Fl resident rate for this sailing for a lot less :cool1: This is our first Disney cruise but have sailed before on other lines. We are VERY excited! Thanks so much to all of you for so much info :flower: How I wish I had started reading these threads a couple months ago. Time is closing in VERY quickly and I am beginning to stress a little. No I'm lying.... a lot : Looking forward to meeting all of you!
Susie :) :cool1: :hourglass
