7 day Western - May 7, 2005???

My MIL has a broken ankle and she just got her cast off yesterday.
She broke it in Mexico in February she has a splint sort of thing with Gel in it.
All the Disers will be at the front of the line with their Boo Boo's

For all of you doing the Fury Catamaran excursion
Are you all booked?
We are and when I called special services even though it says 12:30 on all the paperwork they said meeting time was 9:45 so I don't know if they have changed the time we booked it at the 90 day mark
I don't imagine they would have us meet at 9:45 if it starts at 12:30
Maybe because this is popular they are doing 2 different ones?

I am all packed!!!!!!!!

16 days til our Magical excursion :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Thanks for the welcome Momeska and Tiggerz. I can see that this group is almost as warped as I am! :rotfl2:

This should be a real adventure as it will not only be the first cruise for the kids, but also their first plane ride too (and a cross country one at that). I'll either have the two most excited little ones on the ship, or the two clingiest ones. Any advice from any parents with more child travel experience?

Anyways, May 6 (Our flight day) cannot come soon enough. Until then...

Auercat :hourglass

Auercat...keep them busy. When my guys were little, I always made them up a little backpack full of goodies...coloring book, crayons, little travel games, etc. I stocked up for vacations and they didn't get them until we got on the plane. They got so excited with all the new things. Also, snacks. And don't forget their favorite lovey. Who knows, maybe you'll luck out and they'll snooze. Don't forget to bring (or buy on the ship) an autograph book for them. Though I've got to say, when my DS13 was 4, he was scared to death of the characters. We went to a character breakfast at the Grand Floridian and he spent the entire time under the table. They are little and you have to respect their fears. Some of the characters are quite large and intimidating. Basically, just roll with it. :rotfl: Good luck!
:wave2: Linda

welcome Auercat :flower:

i will add you and family to the Dismeet list on page 28 of this thread
if you feel comfortable you may PM me or post on this thread your names, ages, home location and deck or cabin number- check out the list!
we have a great group!

momeska hope everyone is okay for the cruise- its funny how things don't happen until we get ready to travel- my DS6 hasn't been sick all winter and now his asthma is really acting up! :(

:wave2:

Auercat -

My DD3 has flown twice to Florida - at 22 months and 32 months - but this time we're driving! :scared: No doubt I'll regret this but our Labrador is coming with us - no, not on the cruise - he'll stay with "Grandma" in St. Augustine Beach, FL.

Anyway, one big piece of advice for the plane ride..... DVD PLAYER! It was a life saver with our little Princess. We didn't use it until necessary, but it sure made life easier. The flight was only 2 hours long, but add to that runway delays, etc, and it makes for an antsy kid.

Good Luck!

I'm re-posting my paperwork questions here, please help if you can. I'm living up to my name again: :goodvibes
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a couple of questions on the paperwork for you experts...

We are arriving by Discovery Cruises/Ferry/Other Ship (correct?)

Date of arrival would be 5/13 (for Castaway Cay, right?)

City boarded would be Port Canaveral?

Intended stay (nights)?

Type of Accommodation? Other?

Hotel Name or Intended Address? Disney Magic or ?

Just trying to get this all figured out. TIA!!!

Welcome Auercat! My girls are 3 and 7, and the more kids I can introduce them to, the better chance they'll like the clubs! ;) But I actually think I'll be disappointed if they want to spend TOO much time in there - I was planning on this being a family vacation! :)

hi lostgirls

i think the intended stay is one day
i am putting down disney magic for intended address
port canaveral for city of boarding
5/13 for date of arrival

i am kind of lost too, i hope someone can help us "lostgirls" out :)

Wow, I'm really falling behind here:

Welcome Auercat - You'll definitely enjoy this crowd :goodvibes From your tag line, I'm thinking Star Wars fan?? :teeth:

Linda - I definitely say tan flab is better than white flab :sunny:

Goofytoo - I doubt they would have us meet that early, maybe the excursion is earlier (can only hope). I'm going to post my earlier question regarding making sure we're back in time for early dinner.

We're pretty much all packed too :cool1: :cool1:

Rachael AWWWWWWWWWW Poor Baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :grouphug:

I feel like I haven't been here in days!!! So much has Happened. I'm not letting my family out with all the injury"s you all have gotten.

Rachael & Donna,
I feel SOO Sorry for you all. I hate that drive more than anything. My DH doesn't like to fly, so we usually drive. This year I told him, when we go in July it's fly or not go. By the way love the Butterball name.

Welcome, Auercat!!!!!!!!! :love2:
I agree get a DVD player. It will be a life saver. And yes we are Warped. That's what makes us the fun group.  I hope you read to put your room # on your shirt. Donna is the Designated walker.

Linda,
The tanned flab is better. And I am Far from a Super Model. I have a nephew. Who got OC from 9/11. He's going to try to fly down in July to stay with us.
I'm going to call Disney to ask about the forms I'll let you all know.
Debbie

Ok! Called Disney, they said:
Intended stay -7
Hotel - Disney Magic
type of accomadions- cruise ship
They also said that part is not really important and that the ship is registered there, That's why it's 7 nights. I hope this helps.

I also asked about the excursion, They told me it's 12:30. I even called twice. They said to ask again, when we get on the ship. They also said there is nothing at dinner but I think she was wrong. I read some where that there is. :confused3
I think I'm more confused now!!!!!!!!! I want to have some time to shop also. I'm thinking about sending DH & DGD while I shop.

Debbie

Debbie - Thanks for doing that. It helps not having to guess on some of that stuff. Weird about nothing being planned for the night we're in Cozumel, but I'm not going to worry about it. Sounds like we'll have plenty of time with the excursion and getting back in time for early seating.

Everyone is so friendly here!!! It's so unlike the Rivals site that I moderate at, so a big thank you to everyone for making a "newbie" feel welcome. :flower:

Bratray, Tera, Mommommouse and Lostgirls- Thanks for the welcome and like I said to the rest of the welcome wagon above, I look forward to meeting you all in a few weeks.

Lost girls, I'm very skeptical that my girls will spend any time at all in the clubs. I see the two of them clinging to mommy and daddy for dear life most of the cruise. Thank the lord that both my mother and mother-in-law will be on board to help.

Mommomouse and Tiggerz- Bought a DVD player today at Best Buy for the plane ride. We have one in our minivan and it works wonders on the long road trips to Vegas and San Francisco. Hopefully, it will do the trick too on the plane. Thanks for the suggestion.

Momeska- Snacks will be packed and the characters are no problem for my little ones. They loved them at Disneyland in December and my little one still even calls Chuck-E-Cheese "Mickey" :earsboy:

Tera- "The dark side of the force is a pathway to many things. Some considered unnatural"- Palpatine-Darth Sidious, From Revenge of The Sith. If you like Star Wars spoilers, let me know. I'll tell you what a can my young padawan learner!

Bratray- I'm definitely going to check your list. Thanks for the heads up.

Talk to you all soon and see you in just a couple of weeks!

Harris aka Auercat

PS Tiggerz, My 1 year old yellow labrador is NOT coming with us. Sonny, aka Darth Idiot, will be staying at Rancho Pet Kennels this week giving his daddy a much deserved rest from chasing after him. ;)

LOL, Auercat! Well "Bailey" usually vacations at Holiday House Resort but since Grandma lives just 2 hours north of the Port, on the beach, she insisted he come visit her. He's never been on a beach so no doubt he'll enjoy his digs. And, since we'll be gone for a total of 18 days, it means we save almost $700 on a kennel! Now THAT'S Magical! :earboy2:

If any of you are AAA members, they have a good map of Key West that shows all the attractions.

Hi Tera! I am soooo excited! Only 15 days left! I see this is your first cruise and I wanted to just prepare you for the heaven you are about to enter!!! This is my and my twin girls 4th year in a row and we are more excited with each year! Do EVERYTHING the cruise offers, every moment on that boat is worth gold! Enjoy and SEE YOU AT THE MICKEY POOL!!!!! YAAAAAY!

Harris - I've been a huge fan for years... I even have a Star Wars "room" I know I know... I'm a geek

Berryhappy - We're all very excited, but I think I'm definitely alittle more than the rest of my family :goodvibes We plan to do as much as possible, but definitely want down time to hang out in one of those lounge chairs I hear so much about :sunny:

welcome berryhappy

we have a cruise list going for our dismeet on page 28 of this thread- check it out and let me know if you would like me to add your information to it

:flower:

Hi all :cool1:
First I would like to say welcome to all the new members coming on line for this auspicious occasion of THE extraordinary Magical Western Mouse adventure ::MickeyMo Sorry about not being on line lately as I have not been into the computer too much lately.. :badpc: Went to the foot doc today and my foot is so-so but I have to stay off of it to let it heal.. The doc also said I severly bruised it too. Hopefully by cruise time it will be ok.. The only thin is I am missing a big bike fesst this weekend with all the bro's in another part fo the state.. The things we do to get well.. Maybe we all can get mopeds for onboard the ship-- :moped: If I could ask the member from California to procure me a new state quarter for me I would be your undying fan --for my collection of state quarters  I will be bringing the computer with us unless I drop it again and break something else on it,so if someone gets in a bind with thier memory for thier camera I could make a cd for you as I have a 12 in 1 reader..Recieved our docs around 2 weeks ago and just need to fill them out. Looking forward to seeing everyone soon..James pirate: aaaaaarrrrrhhhhhh

Wecome Berryhappy!!!!!!! :cool1:

I can't believe it's still 15 days. I was thinking this was our last weekend but we have 2 weekends,
Donna & Rachael,
When are you all leaving Bucks?
My DH wants to know what there is to do to get ready. He says "all you need to do is get on the ship" Ok in the mean time I need to pack, Get the house cleaned, the rugs shampooed, and work (we're having Kennedy's birthday party on the 21st of May). But Ya!! I don't have anything to do. I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about. :confused3 :charac2:

Well in 15 more days we'll be relaxing. :boat: :dancer:
Debbie
