Sorry for the delay...we spent the last week in North Conway, NH with our sons. Very fun! And, if you're ever in the area we highly recommend El Reparo in Glen, NH for excellent Mexican food...Now back to our trip...
5/4 A Half Day at Epcot Before Visiting Port Orleans
Originally our plan was to spend the entire day at Epcot with a dinner reservation at Le Creperie. The night before though we were both thinking we’d like to go to Boatwrights for dinner. So, I switched our Le Creperie reservation to lunch and booked a dinner reservation for Boatwrights.
We took our time in the morning and arrived at Epcot a little after opening. We followed our usual plan and headed to the Land. I rode Soarin’ with a posted wait of 10 minutes. It took 21 minutes. We then rode Living with the Land, posted 15 minutes and it took 11 minutes. I really like when they add special touches to the Living with the Land ride. The best version of course is the holiday overlay during the Festival of the Holidays. This time there were subtle nods to the princesses throughout the gardens.

As we were riding it started to pour outside. It was actually raining in the gardens.
Now we know why there’s a roof on the boats!
Since it was still heavily raining out, of course we needed to get a cookie from Sunshine Seasons and wait out the storm. I originally intended to purchase the cherry cheesecake cookie but then my eye spotted this, the Chocolate Hazelnut cookie.
This was a brownie-like chocolate cookie with a thick layer of chocolate hazelnut frosting, a chocolate-lover’s dream. We gave it an A-.
It was still raining after our treat but the Awesome Planet movie had a 0 minute wait so we headed into the theater. We took our seats and the movie started. We’ve watched this movie before but it’s definitely not on the must do list. The first half of the movie is charming and beautiful with a nice narration by “Phil” from Modern Family and then it turns very dark and scary with a pretty heavy handed environmental message. While I certainly appreciate the importance of the message, it seems a little out of place in an entertainment venue and probably a little scary for kids.
After the movie, the rain subsided and we headed to ride Journey into Imagination. There was a posted 15 minute wait which is longer than usual and it did actually take us 12 minutes to ride. After our ride Figment was out greeting guests and there were Photopass Photographers there this time, so the other day must have just been a staffing issue.
We made our way next to France for our noon ADR at Le Creperie. We first dined here on our “healthy trip” and were very surprised at how much we enjoyed our meal. Here’s a look at their menu:
We once again shared the Prix Fixe Menu and added an extra salad. I had Diet Coke included with the meal and DH just had water.
Salade Maison:
This salad is very fresh and the vinaigrette is delicious. It is also huge! We actually could share this too but each wanted our own.
We selected a different galette to try this time, opting for the Savoyarde: Raclette Cheese, Caramelized Onion, Bacon, Imported Prosciutto Ham
We both really enjoyed this galette as much as, if not even more than, the Ratatouille one we had last time. The buckwheat flavor in this is very dominant as are the caramelized onions so if you don’t like those flavors, you may not like this but we loved it! It is huge and more than enough to share.
For our dessert crepe, again we tried something different, the Pomme: caramelized apples, caramel sauce.
Oh! Was this good! We liked this one even better than the Melba that we got last time. The apples are perfectly cooked and the caramel sauce is plentiful. You can add enhancements like ice cream or whipped cream (or a shot) to any crepe but it was sweet enough without it.
Once again we loved our meal at Le Creperie and gave it an A. The only thing this time was our server wasn’t that great. He was very stone faced and just going through the motions. It was as if he was annoyed he had to serve people. It was strange and he was like that with every table. It didn’t dampen our meal but it certainly didn’t enhance it either. The other servers though were excellent and engaging well with their tables.
Since we were in France, I decided to ride Remy again in the single rider line. The standby wait was 50 minutes. By using Single Rider I was on in 15. While I rode Remy, DH went to Les Halles to purchase another cookie for our cookie stroll, the Chocolate Chunk Cookie.
This had great potential but wasn’t very fresh. It was a nice chocolate cookie with chocolate chunks and probably would’ve received an A if it didn’t seem like it had been sitting a while. We gave it an A-.
We walked around World Showcase and made our way to Mexico, where we rode the Gran Fiesta Tour. The wait was posted at 15 minutes and we were on in 10.
We stopped by Club Cool once again for some refreshment. DH just has to get a sample of Sprite Cucumber every time we’re in Epcot.
Up next..trying another snack, one more ride and then heading to Port Orleans.
