7/24/2011 5 Night Disney Dream cruise

I really need to get packing! I only barely started, hope to accomplish a lot tomorrow and over the weekend!

I put everything into the suitcase and now just need to add a few more items but probably will do it on Sunday. I have to keep DDs out of their some of their shoes so they can be packed but it's not a likely scenario!

DH has now decided to take over the file and be the cruise POINT PERSON! He says he is in charge of LOGISTICS!! I will let him have this one (even though everything has been done for months)

ONLY ONE MORE WEEK BEFORE WE REVEAL TO DDs THE REAL VACATION DESTINATION!!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!

pretty sure i'll be the last one packing, next friday probably around midnight.

I got a tangerine color and a light blue...they looked tropical and fun to me!!

I'll be packing next Friday night and/or Saturday morning...so I'll be right there with you!!

Hi everyone.

Lauri, glad to hear your dad is doing better.

Michelle, glad your elbow is getting better too.

Things have winded down here for baseball. DS14's team finished Thursday evening and DS10's team's next tournament starts Monday night so he'll miss his last 2 of the season. It feels good to have that out of the way! We've been at fields 6-7 days a weeks since mid March and it's great to have 2 whole days before we leave to relax a bit! I'm almost done with work and may have to finish payroll when we get to Disney but at least that will be it. My DH finished work today and won't go back until August 3rd. We are beyond excited about the trip. We'll be staying at BWI on Sunday and flying out Monday morning. I think we'll probably pack some tomorrow or Sunday. We've cruised and gone to WDW enough to know what we will use and can pack pretty quick.

My parents, aunt and uncle flew to Tampa today. My aunt and uncle are visiting from Australia and they are all going to Disney Monday. They don't know we are going to be there too so it will be a nice surprise. I booked the illuminations cruise for Monday night too which should be awesome. The boys don't know about that yet. My aunt and uncle think we are going Thursday, which was our original day to fly down.

We managed to snag a good car rental deal from Budget $100 cheaper than Alamo for the 15 days last night.

Have I mentioned we are excited?? The boys still don't know we are doing the water park at Atlantis so I'm excited to surprise them with that too. We'll be doing the WDW parks, Sea World, Universal and water parks over the next week.

I'm not sure if I'll get to check back in so everyone have a safe trip and great cruise!! Please say hi if you see us. I'll try and find a recent picture to post on what we look like.

how cool to work @ WDW! Was told we could book SOG for Sept dates & one other time during the year (which i forget think it was January?), nice they do it for those who haven't retired. A friend told me a few years ago that every time she tried to book SOG it wasn't available, but she then received heavily discounted rates @ other onsite hotels = CR among them.

I got my toes done yesterday in an aqua blue. They've been some shade or pink or red my whole adult life so I went with something I thought looked cute. I just hope they don't chip too bad because I used the polish there and need to buy some for touch ups.

Ohhh, I'm so jealous you are doing an Illuminations Cruise! Hope you have a safe trip and a GREAT time with your family pre-cruise!


Now that this week is finally over, I am doing laundry and told DH he has to pick his dinner clothes out when the laundry is done so he does not wear any of it to work this week.

Saturday is my busy "get-ready-for-the-cruise" day. We won't be driving down until next Saturday the 23rd, but I don't want to be stressing about it all next week, so I'll finish up laundry, pack, empty out and clean the car, catch up on yardwork (DH), oil change (DH), and then read more DisBoards!

Is anyone still interested in doing a meet still? A friend of mine said that they met in the District Lounge (I think) at 2:30ish on embarkation day. Or maybe on the at sea day?

I think a meet would be great the first day of the cruise. That way, we recognize each other the rest of the cruise. I'm still weraing my beads to the port, and plan to arrive early, so you'll see me there.

Is anyone else NOT READY????? packing for 5 for what is really 3 separate vacations. Still so much to do...my Sports Twin went straight to out of town tournament from Scout camp this week (= laundry overload tonight!!!), leave Wed for Myrtle Beach tournie (you know, the one I said we would NOT participate in, lol), leave that early to head to Florida (cruise then inlaws then Universal) = Crazy!!!

And I still need everyone to "try things on" - that's like pulling teeth in our house!

I skipped this weekend's tournament (I NEVER do that!) to try to get ready; see, I'm not totally insane! Although this week just may push me over the edge!

Did I mention my inlaws are stopping by for the night on their way home to FL?

Even without this crazy week, I don't think I ever feel ready when it's finally CRUISE TIME!!! Even though we booked this two years ago! Anyone else ever feel this way?

I am convinced I will forget our passports and Universal Studio passes. Yikes! And there's still all those door signs to finish...

This is a crazy week for everyone but we are so excited!! I am working up to the day we leave (not the original plan) so I will be coveting the evenings running errands and packing for ME!! DDs are already done, thank goodness.

We are going to do our best to meet everyone at 2:30! I will try to find a pic of the four of us to post...gimme a bit because it's going to take some digging!

For anyone that's leaving early and won't be able to check in, have a safe, happy, and magical cruise!

I just got home from the grocery store (teenage son, must shop everyday ), and DD was sitting at the computer making our door magnets! I'm so excited because I'm the one who does all of the planning, researching, getting excited from the day of booking (yes, the day ressies opened.) And now the members of my family are finally starting to get into it too.

Of course, other that typing on these boards, I'm computer illiterate. DD found a whole bunch of blank magnets and is working on doctoring them up. And we get two do twice as many this year, as we have two rooms.

I'm just so excited.
