7/24/2011 5 Night Disney Dream cruise

Hi!
Can you elaborate? I usually arrive at 9:30 for the usual (well, in past years anyway) 10am opening. I was actually thinking of being there at 9 this year. What time does the terminal open? Do you know what time they let you into the parking and/or drop off area?

I am told the terminal currently opens at 10am, but not sure about the parking lot.

Hi fellow July 24th cruisers! Thought I'd pop in and say "hi". I'll be on the cruise with my adult DD, Mathgeek, our first mother/daughter cruise. She checked in earlier on this thread. We have reservations for both Remy and Palo that we're really excited about. After the cruise, we'll be staying at Bay Lake Towers - my first time there. My DH, DD, DS and I just returned from Disney's Vero Beach Resort and WDW about 2 1/2 weeks ago so this will really be a Disney summer! You all sound much more organized than I am. I really do have to think about my packing list soon!

I don't know that you have to worry about getting there too early if you are concierge. Last year concierge had its own waiting area and boarded first. So I wouldn't arrive 'til 11 if I were you, knowing I would be boarding in Group 1 as concierge.:thumbsup2

Have safe travels - you'll be stateside before you know it!:woohoo:

When you did the online check-in, you were issued a port arrival time. We got 10:30-11:00am. If you go to look at your signature page that you have to print and bring with you to the port, your port arrival time is on that.

I can't believe that the time is finally getting close!!!

IDK, but I'm sure we can find it and have a party lol!!

I think it would be crazy fun to have an actual meet! With rum :rotfl:

what, no Iron City Beer:lmao:? I'm more of a vodka gal but can throw back a shot & a beer with the best of them.

maybe we can convince the gang for a quick meet @ one of the bars to toast the disboards.;)

Yep, I got 10am. But trust me, people come regardless of what time the arrival time says. So even though I got the earliest time, I know that the line forms before then. I don't mind coming earlier and waiting on line then, rather than later and waiting on line inside.:goodvibes

RUM, VODKA, TEQUILA, SIGN ME UP!! Make it fruity and I'm all in!

I talk such a good game when the reality is I am such a lightweight-flyweight that I get buzzed super duper quick! It's never a good sign when your speech begins to slur with half a glass of wine! :lmao:

Grandma just left yesterday and the DDs are all packed up except for shoes and pajamas!!! Suitcases are hidden and they have enough clothes to RE-RUN for two weeks until we leave. :thumbsup2 I picked up cheapy cheap pirate costumes yesterday from Party City (Halloween Clearance!) so they should be all set!

Now it's time to watch the clock. :hourglass :bored:

You have to bring it-I'm living in NC now and can't get some Iron City or IC light lol.

now i want a foo foo drink, it could be considered 'training' as i've become a bit of a cheap drunk...2 & i'm good to go...oh the shame, my tolerance went poof:lmao:

im seriously jealous re the suitcase being packed.

I'm running around like a fool trying to self-cater most of the food for my DS's grad party next Saturday. Expecting 100 or so (not more i hope ha ha) Picked up the sterno sets for the food today, have most of the groceries. still, what was i thinking to schedule it a week before the cruise:upsidedowand to concede & allow my DS to invite my 'ex's' extended family to the event? Blended families aren't all they are cracked up to be:rolleyes1

It isn't just me! :rotfl: Then again, I've *never* had much of a tolerance... I'm an inexpensive date for my hubby!

14 days from now, we'll be sitting on a plane waiting for the second leg of our trip to Orlando! Whoo!

For now, I have to survive a picnic at our martial arts school tonight. 88 outside with 63% humidity - I keep telling myself that this is conditioning for Florida and the Bahamas in 2 weeks...

We'll be getting to port at around 11:15 on the 24th. We won't have the green beads - but my DS did just pick out a set of bright lime green Ear Gear for his hearing aid (it's a cover that protects it from moisture - a must-have when we're heading for Florida). Does that count? :lmao:

Off to get ready for the picnic... tomorrow I'm going to start putting clothes in suitcases! Woot!

:laundy: Washed the new clothes and packed those I don't want DD to wear before the trip. Also packed DD princess dresses princess: and pirate costumepirate:, and even the hanging shoe thingamabob;).

popcorn:: Sad to hear that Cars 2 isn't getting great reviews and is a bit violent for a 4 yr. old. Was hoping to take DD to see it on the ship. Anyone take your kids to see it yet? Also just realized the Winnie the Pooh movie will be released in about a week, so maybe we'll see that. :cutie:

I have a ressie for Palo Tea on the sea day that I think I'm going to cancel. Was going to treat Mom & Dad but we have early dining and none of us wants to be stuffed with sweets before dinner.

I had to do the same thing and keep out enough clothes so DDs won't wear the vacation stuff. We decorated flip flops today so they can have "bedazzled" sandals. All I need is to pick up a couple of knick-knacks! DH is packing his stuff on his own.

We saw Cars 2 last week and enjoyed it. Of course Mater was the best part. There are a lot of explosions so it might be a little tough but my DDs are a little older and they were okay. Pooh would definitely be the way to go for your four year old.

I'm checking every day for Palo ressies for brunch. I hadn't thought about tea, but maybe I should check it out. We had dinner ressies and I gave them up because I didn't want to miss anything with this being the first cruise. I'll keep checking for availablility until we sail!

2 weeks exactly until our Sail Away party!:banana::banana:

i'm pretty sure years ago DCL had Harry Potter playing onboard, don't want to see precruise if it may be playing. I don't think buena vista is owned by disney or distributes the movies? anybody know the current movies?

Hi Keishashadow,

The only Harry Potter I ever remember seeing onboard is on the stateroom tvs, never in the theater in 5 cruises. The only movies I ever recall being in the theaters were Disney owned/affiliated.

DS18 has had his tix for the midnite show on Thursday for weeks; he's going with a group of friends. DS twins just left for Boy Scout camp in North Carolina, and won't be here for the premiere.:scared1: We NEVER miss a Potter premiere...this just won't be the same. :sad2:;)

Friends are going Thursday night, but I think I'll go Saturday with cuddly twin when he gets back (DH is picking up baseball twin for a tourney in Northern Va - they can go Saturday night up there). sigh...I remember when they used to dress up for the premieres and book releases...maybe I'll wear a scar and round specs, for old times' sake!pixiedust:We sail 2 weeks from today!!! party: Can't wait! :cheer2: And though I will be sad to see it over, after the cruise we'll be headed to Wizarding World of Harry Potter for two days - woo hoo!

Well the suitcase being packed has a lot to do with the fact that we have a ton of tshirts Disney and otherwise, so we packed the Disney stuff and kept out the non-Disney!! I wish I was a light drunk, but college and living among Marines in Okinawa killed that dream lol!

I want bedazzled sandals lol!! I'm trying for Palo brunch too, but to no avail. We have the 2nd check-in time, so hopefully there will be availability when we get on ship....I really hope so because I gave up our dinner ressies too.

We have our midnight showing tix too :banana::banana::banana::banana: but I can feel ya on missing premiers due to Scout camp. I've been at camp for work/camping for 2 of them and had to wait until we got off on Saturday. I'm just glad to get to see this one!! And totally jealous of you getting to go to WWoHP!

I just bought some pretty toenail polish for the cruise!! :thumbsup2

Hi Everyone!

Sorry I've been MIA the past week. My dad was hospitalized just before July 4th with a small heart attack, but fortunately he's doing well and home from the hospital.

DD 14 has already been to camp for two weeks and is now back.

DS 16 just got his drivers license this past weekend :scared1: and drove for the first time alone yesterday.

But now things are getting back to normal. Time to start getting ready for the cruise--only 13 more days till we're on the ship :woohoo:.

I'll be wearing my beads to the port, but my family is protesting. When I asked them what shirts we should get/wear to the port, I was overruled :confused3. I guess I'm just glad that they all still like Disney enough to keep going with me.

Time to get ready...

Lauri

Hi all! It's getting close now!!
So sorry to hear about your father Lauri, glad that he is on the mend! Good luck with the new driver...I got very little sleep that first few months!!

We did a "dry fit" of the suitcases, and it was a good thing....Mine was too heavy, and DH was taking the wrong suit....so we did a reshuffle, and all is ready to now be packed on thursday before we go.

We are staying at the BCV day before and day after...so I think we won't be arriving till around 1

Anyone else doing Blackbeards cay?..since we are on adults trip with another couple, we wanted a nice beach for a few hours and are going to give it a shot....

We are down to days now:yay:

lauri hope ur dad continues to get better!

servicemen can pack it away;)my DH is ex navy, wish he was retired to get the DCL discount! That's okay, CCL & NCL luv all who have servedand we've gotten some amazing military rates over the years.:thumbsup2

we're on SWA so luggage allowance is generous this trip:banana:. Figure I'll bring garment bag, 1 huge suitcase, 1 small for FE stuff & snorkle gear & probably our rolling cooler for a case of beer that DH can lug & I can park my vera duffle upon. I keep catching myself thinking I need to pack for youngest son/he who jumped ship on us. He might not miss us, but im sure going to miss him:sad1:
