7/24/2011 5 Night Disney Dream cruise

HOLY COW!!!! I just checked my ticker and it says we sail 3 weeks from today!!!! :cool1::woohoo::yay::cheer2::banana: Yikes, I need to start packing!!!:thumbsup2:yay:

I am SOOO READY!!!

Eating a spinach salad for dinner tonight...I have about 3 pounds that I would like to go away before the cruise, because on the cruise all bets are off and I'm eating whatever I want!!

Hi! I've been missing for awhile as I was busy taking DD14 off to camp. I'm so focused on the cruise, we planned to take her on the wrong day! Fortunately, we found out just before we left the house. She comes home just before we cruise. There will be quite a bit of laundry :laundy: to do when she gets home to get us ready to go.

So who else is going to Atlantis on their own, or through Comfort Suites? We're really looking forward to this excursion. I want to start planing our day there. Has anyone done this before? I've heard there are supposed to be some more resonable places to eat in the waterpark. I've also heard some of the must do attractions are the slide into the shark pool and the not so lazy river.

I know that I mentioned this before, but are we planning to do a meet on board? And what did you think of the bead idea to recognize each other?

Lauri

We are going to Atlantis through the Comfort Suites.

YES! i cant wait! this is my fourth cruise the other 3 were on the magic what about you guys?

This will be our first cruise on the Dream. We've been on the Magic and Wonder 14 times. I have a 14 year old son, Keegan and my friend Beth's son will be 15.

The ticker says 20 days people!! Time to start packing! Grandma is here and we started buying the clothes for the DDs!! A few more pounds and I will be able to eat whatever I want on the ship (I'm going to do that anyway).

I need help! The closer we get to time to reveal the surprise, the harder it becomes! I am having Freudian slips...A LOT!!! Gotta hold on just a little longer to the secret of a lifetime! Does anyone have any duct tape? Super glue? I'll take anything! :lmao:

Not long to go now. I am sure you can hold out long enough.

We told our DD and DS on the day before our last cruise, so we know what your going through. For this cruise we told them about 6 months ago.

Same here!!! I am pretty much at the weight I like to be at, but I'm trying to drop 2 or 3 more pounds so I won't have as much to lose when I get back!! I am going to eat whatever I want on vacation!! I have a cool app on my phone that I can track everything I eat and it keeps me in check, because without that I have no willpower.

Our first Disney trip was a surprise and it was SOOO hard to keep it from the girls. I finally told them about 3 days before we left. I was going to try and wait until we were on our way but I just couldn't do it! They were getting mad at me though because they kept asking if they could do things over the weekend and I kept telling them no. They didn't know that the reason was that we were going to Disney!!

We are going to hold on just a little while longer until time to reveal. This is the biggest surprise I have ever had to keep! This is tough! But it is sooooooooo exciting! Can't wait!

We haven't booked, yet. But my dd and I are planning on going. She wil turn 14 on 7/25/11 so, she will get to take part in the teen club. I am very excited..can't wait to see the Dream!

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I'm turning 14 on the 10th maybe we could email or something

pirate:pirate: 19 DAYS! pirate:pirate:

I just made a countdown calendar for my 4 yr. old yesterday and she thinks there are still a lot of days to go. We are all soooo excited!

:cheer2::dance3::cheer2::dance3::cheer2:

There is a trip report about someone's Sweet 16 on the Dream, and their latest post has a picture of a CM walking through the tubes of Aquaduck to help someone who got stuck! It made me laugh, nothing to worry about.:rotfl::rotfl:

DH is definitely getting excited. Yesterday he even told me he is "so ready" for the cruise, and this morning he wanted to talk about what time we're planning to leave on Sat to drive to FL.

So, has anyone REALLY started packing? I think I will pack some of the new clothes I have for DD so I don't break down and let her wear them before the trip. Plus I may as well pack that shoe thing so I don't forget it.

Uh yeah we have. I have all of our Disney shirts packed but we are planning some beach time next week so I can't pack suits.

DS9 keeps telling me we need to start packing! I usually try to put aside some outfits but since we need our shorts now I can't really do that.

I can't pack my shoe thing just yet - we use it all year round since our first cruise!!! We put it in our laundry room - it holds sunblock, bug spray, soccer socks, Boy Scout neckerchief claspy thingys, cheap sunglasses, hand warmers, etc etc etc!:rotfl:

That is so cute about your DD! It's funny how no matter how close it is, it's still a long way away!

I think DH is shopping more than me and I'm trying to get it done for 3 of us! He's asking questions daily!

New suitcases arrived and we are starting to pack.:banana::banana:

Lol....I think I'm going to pack the morning of the 23rd before we leave for the airport, I'm excited, but I'm a last minute packer! :thumbsup2

i have it booked both thru DCL & on my own, but for the few $ difference for just the 2 of us probably will cancel our Choice reservation. Just hope the trek to the disney bus isn't long trek.

We totally should do a meet onboard though :)

where's the rum?;)

michele - how r u feeling?:wizard:

i'm done doing laundry from myrtle beach trip, it was sooo hot & sticky but got lots of practice lounging under palm tree staring @ the ocean:goodvibes. Our 1st experience with Spirit airlines was dismal:rolleyes1over 6 hour equipment delay. I was just glad the flight finally took off since they cancelled all the other ones for the day and out of our local airport no other flights into MB for another 2 days...can you imagine how those poor folks felt?:sad2:

My elbow is making progress!! :thumbsup2 There are days that it hurts more than others, but yesterday I was finally able to touch my shoulder with my fingers which I couldn't do that earlier, so apparently I'm on the right track!!

We bought DH some new clothes for the trip and last night when we went to bed I noticed he had one of his new shirts on, so I asked him why he was wearing his new shirt to bed. His answer...."well, I like this shirt and I can't wear it during the week so I'm going to wear it to bed" Lol!! What a goofball, I think he's most excited about being able to wear his new clothes on the cruise than the cruise itself!!

Michelle - good news:thumbsup2sounds like your DH is just 'breaking in' his new duds:laughing:

im going to order the passporter today. Even though the 'hard copy' won't be out until August, you receive the e-version. I haven't done much research on the Dream, really need to catch up.

Only 2 weeks (yes 14 days) until we travel from the UK to Orlando.

We only need to wait until Sunday before we can tell everyone we are going on holiday (oops vacation) the following week.

Its getting close now - can't wait.

I see from another thread that at least we benefit from the terminal opening at the current earlier time as from 08/02 its only opening at 11am.

We plan to be in the pool shortly after boarding so that we miss the crowds, as being a sardine is not my idea of fun.

We also managed to upgrade ourselves to Concierge a few months back, so we are really looking forward to that. Not sure when to arrive at the terminal as we have not received an arrival time - any thoughts?

Michelle - Goods news about your elbow.

Hi!
Can you elaborate? I usually arrive at 9:30 for the usual (well, in past years anyway) 10am opening. I was actually thinking of being there at 9 this year. What time does the terminal open? Do you know what time they let you into the parking and/or drop off area?

I don't know that you have to worry about getting there too early if you are concierge. Last year concierge had its own waiting area and boarded first. So I wouldn't arrive 'til 11 if I were you, knowing I would be boarding in Group 1 as concierge.:thumbsup2

Have safe travels - you'll be stateside before you know it!:woohoo:
