OH Shop Talk!
Well, I currently have a Canon 30D (My first digital camera) and then I now have a 40D. I have always loved photography ever since I took a class as a freshman in high school some 24 1/2 yrs ago. It wasn't until after I came back from the 2007 Med Cruise that I finally allowed by DH to talk me into a "good" camera and lens so that is part of the reason that I am tagging along with DD's Spring Break Europe Trip. They are going to visit the Sistene Chapel again as well as going into the Coliseum which I did not go on. THe Sistene Chapel won over that. I did however get a few pictures with my conventional lenses.
So, BTW - you will all realize that I tend to get sidetracked very easily - I finally took the plunge and invested in some decent Canon lenses. Prior - I stuck to Tamron lenses. There is absolutely nothing wrong with them but after finally admitting that this was more than just a hobby to me, I decided I owed myself a decent lens. So for Christmas, DH got me the 24-105 Image Stablized Ultrasonic lens which I absolutely adore. He also got me a 70-200 IS Ultrasonic lens. Funny thing happened when I went to return it. I allowed the guy to talk me into keeping it when I explained that I didn't really need it because I had a 300. Well,

he then showed me the newest toy - the 100-400 IS Ultrasonic MEGA lens. So, not only did I not return the 2nd lens but I ended up walking out with the mega lens too. Now, I do not travel lite.

Those babies are my life and they are as well protected as my jewelry. I would be hard pressed to say this in front of my DH, but if I lost my rings - I'd be upset - not heartbroken. If I lost my lenses - I'd commit suicide. Those babies are my tickets to traveling. DH knows that I must take pictures of new places in order to do them justice.
So, yes, I am a camera hog and just to let you know, I ended up taking just a bit over 10,000 images on the Med cruise. I believe in Pompeii I took aver 1500 images alone. The Vatican tour - I took over 1800. Many repeats as I had conventional lenses but they worked. I even got a fairly decent shot of the Sistene Chapel ceiling. So now, I'm excited to go back and shoot it again with my digital slow shutter lenses.
BTW, - you'll all know me when you see me - I'll be the lady with the big old honking lenses. I'll be stooped over from the weight but that be me - they are like an outgrowth of my body - an extra appendage. However, good luck getting them out of me, I am still trying to upload some shots of the Panama Canal to our sight. I am not quite as diligent about posting them tho.
Sorry, - I warned you - you mention cameras and I can go on for hours!
