I was planning to do only DCL excursions - but if they don't have the Jewish themed tour and you are setting that up, definitely put me on the list. That would be worth getting a visa for. Maybe we can put in a word with DCL that they should try to make arrangements for that.

You don't need to get your own visa if you book a tour on your own thru a tour company. The tour company will include a blanket visa as part of your package and issue you a ticket that you show to immigration to be allowed into the country.
The only time a visa is needed is if you are going out on your own and you have to figure out a way to get to the port entrance which is about 2 miles from where the ship docks. The port is an industrial port and very busy.

For all those worrying about bringing over too much luggage.....I had a brainwave. July is sale time here in the UK so bring over empty suitcases....no excess luggage there then.......buy all your stuff here and then when you finish the cruise send loads of it back home via snail mail....no excess luggage there then either.

Brilliant even if I do say so myself :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
That's a great way to add more revenue to the British economy. But there is a huge drawback to it, right now the exchange rate isn't very good. If it gets better you can bet I'll be doing that. But then the cost of posting the items back to the states negates any savings, but it sure is fun to shop in London.
I take it you are offering to pack and post it all back to the states for us especially if we have a flight right after the cruise. That is so nice of you to do this for all of us. I'll make sure to pack an extra box of Froot Loops for your offering. :lmao:

In July we paid about 24GBP for the 3 of us from Victoria Station to Dover on National Express. I almost waited too long to book with them and will definately book with them earlier.
Now I don't know why you want to look into this already :confused3 , I'm sure you know you can only book them 12 weeks out. :upsidedow  ;)

I only said this as it appears that there's going to be a DIS party AT MY HOUSE the night before we sail :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Oh yeah I forgot, and you are charging boxes of Froot Loops for admission.

But you could just charter a coach to take everyone. :lmao:

Berlin is 3 hours by train or bus from Warnemunde. But we are only in port for 12½ that day. Most of the other lines dock for 14-15 hours.

If it's 3 hours, then I'll probably be rethinking going in to Berlin. Doesn't really make sense to spend half our port time on a bus or train.

Now just to make you drool I'm going to have some chocolate digestives with my lunchtime cuppa :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

It is a long ways to only be in a city for 6 hours. Plus it makes for a very long day.
There is so much to see in the Warnemunde/Rostock area.

We will just stay in town lounge around, have a few beers, take in the local food/culture and hope it's a good day to lounge on the beach or the bar on the beach.
It was funny, we noticed that around 3:00 everyone was either having beer or ice cream whereever we looked. We had a good laugh over that.

Thanks for that.
I'm getting ready to have my Twinings Traditional Afternoon tea that I brought back with me, along with the other 8 boxes of tea.
Now if you told me you were having any of the Cadbury cookies that are covered in chocolate I would be crawling thru the computer lines to get them. I didn't bring home any :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

I really have to get a few things done this morning before the appliance repairman comes. I check back later.

I'm not too keen on the Cadbury biscuits I find them too sweet....well I suppose I could make an exception with chocolate fingers:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

What you getting repaired Barb....so far this year we've had to replace our oven, washing machine and hob :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Hi, Jo! I am still going to try to talk you into doing this cruise!

:thumbsup2 Julie - I am seriously thinking about it
The cruise we have booked for 09 we aren't going to take and I am going to transfer it to 2010 sometime and will probably go with this date unless DD decides she would rather do the Med one. I really want to do the Baltic cruise. I am going to make a decision today

That would be cool. We really didn't have a chance to talk to you on the repo. We'd love to have another opportunity to meet you.:thumbsup2

Fortunately it's just the annual maintenance check for the washer, dryer and fridge.
We just moved into this house 4 years ago when we had it built, so far nothing serious has gone wrong (knock on wood). This summer we added a screen porch so that's been our big expense. Next year we will do a patio of some sort. DH likes the fact of having much less grass to cut.

They are not too sweet. I prefer the little cookies that are only covered in chocolate on the back and the chocolate chip cookies. The fingers are good, but I'm not that keen on them; but that's not to say that I won't eat them. :yay:

Hi Mike - thanks, I would love that also
Maybe we can have another meet in our area sometime that we can both make it to. I love the picture you are working on for the signature

It is official I have moved our 2009 booking to this date for now. Haven't told DH yet :rotfl:

Our au pair now cuts our grass........one of the joys of having a male au pair :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
