Obviously all you Ballyhoo'ers are over the post booking ballyhoo and are now bored with coming out to play

Morning Carolyn....I hope you have a good day today.....how was yesterday ??
Could someone please tell me why the queues to vote are/are expected to be so huge ? When we vote here in a general election we just stroll down to the local school/church hall or whever they local polling station is and vote. I've never heard of there being long queues waiting to vote![]()
Must be a US vote thing
You caught me Dan - although I showed DD this already and now she's upstairs talking to DH about it. Guess I'd better take her to our Museum of Tolerance down here. Thanks Dan!![]()
Although now you've got me wondering what the airfares for a post cruise would be? And if I could mail home some of my suitcases?
I never have to wait to vote. In fact most times, I've been the only one there. Maybe a couple other people sometimes.
Yesterday went good. It's going to be a pretty slow week though as the planners reschedule all the work.
Well you know that odd as all thats being reported on the BBC news is LOOOOOOOOOONG queues

Voted this morning. Had an hour wait. Glad I'm off work today. Senate race in KY is very close so we will have a large turn out.
I came home to a big box of magnetic paper I ordered so I can get started on some more magnets for our stateroom door next month. I found a place online to get 50 sheets for $55 plus $12 S&H. Much better than the 4 sheets for $15 I paid at Staples!
I was wondering when it came to making my door magnets whether or not to try magnetic tape this time. In the past I've always used magnetic paper but it's just so expensive so I thought about using the magnetic tape. Have you ever tried using the magnetic tape ? If so what did you think ?
bumpAs Christmas and Channukah coincide this year does anyone fancy doing a Ballyhooers holiday card exchange ???
A reminder
You PM me your full name and postal address, as do all the other people who want to participate. I then compile a list with all that information and send it out to all the people on the list. You then send a christmas/channukah/holiday card to all the people on the list and you should get one back from all the people on the list.
It's a nice way to bring us all closer together and celebrate the holidays and it also great fun to see the cards coming through the door as they won't all be coming from the same country.![]()

I've been asked by a couple of Ballyhooers to give an exact cutoff date as they wish to order really, really extra special cards to send to us![]()
So if you wish to be sociable and holidaylicious please can you PM me your postal details by November 13th 2008

Some Ballyhooers have told me what holiday they celebrate if I was going to list that information. I dont think Im going to for the following reasons.
1. We are all friends and the cards are being sent in the spirit of friendship
2. I am Jewish and I only buy and send Channukah cards to all my friends regardless of their religious belief. At the same time I dont expect my non Jewish friends to send me anything other than the same Christmas cards they are sending to all their other friends as its the friendship and joy we are sharing which is important message here not what picture is on the front of the card.

Iz....there's a thread about this on the main boards: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2000108

I'm just curious how many families have signed up so far?![]()

Well here in NYC the lines are wrapping around the blocks . . . my youngest daughter actually chose to get up early so that she could do it with me (NYC public schools are closed today because that's where we vote, but my girls are at a private school so had to be there by 8) . . . we got there at 6:30 and barely made it out at 7:45 for her to go on to school. Very exciting, though! At my girls' school today they were holding a vote with real voting machines, having to check in with a "polling person," etc., to give them the real experience.
Don't you just put a X in the square of the one you want to vote for and then put the ballot paper into a locked box ??Julie what do you mean by voting machine![]()
