The pens looked nice, a well known Travel agent around here gave out pens for free on the 07/28 Med cruise, with our thread title on it.

One of the cruisers was Mary Joe who works for Dreams and these boards,

We also, had visits on our thread from the great almighty,,,,,,well we must not mention her name........ lets just say,,,, TF. :flower3:

SIGH! Mary Jo! She was funny. How I wish she could join us. Anyone able to hunt her down? Yes as I said, my pen ran out within 3 months. Then it disappeared altogether. :cloud9:

As for that elusive entity you referred to Andrew, :scratchin I wonder if we would be so lucky as to be visited again? What do you think our chances are? :cutie:

Izzi,

I like the luggage handle wraps, too. Adventures by Disney gave them to us for our trip and it was easy to recognize our luggage on the carosel at the airport.

Danielle,

I love the pens. They look super!

It's at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine on the west side of Manhattan . . . for Halloween they show a silent movie with live organ accompaniment (this year, Phantom of the Opera; other years, Nosferatu or the Cabinet of Dr. Caligari) and then when it is over the procession of the ghouls start. It is very cool and worth it to get there early and be on an aisle, as I was, because the ghouls interact with people near them and the place is enormous -- so not everyone is that close. It's a ticketed event and sells out two showings every year.

Julie - you do the most awesome things. I have to tell you that you've inspired me to attend a local play around here (as local as SoCal can get that is) its about 30 miles away but I've been thinking of attending Farenheit 451 but I can't seem to get anyone to go with me. I may have to commander someone - probably April as she has to read that this year. Nothing big - small community playhouse in Pasadena but its a start. Got to broaden my horizens. DD was trying to entice me to read Chaucer last night but I can't do him or Poe - they bore me to death. Nope - give me Saul and Kellerman and Reichs, give me good old fashion blood and gore mixed in with a bit of mystery and suspense and I'm good to go! :thumbsup2 BTW, it is un-American to not like Mark Twain too?

Mary Ann - which ABD did you do? I signed up for Peru Friday and got a pre-night today. I'm excited - how'd you like it and would you do it again?

OK so its finally 2 pm - Steve has finally left and I am free to start my winter cleaning of my closets - anyone wear a size 9 woman's shoe?

Ok, it's not the best picture of the sample, but I went to Vista print to see how the image would look on a similar pen to the ones I purchased and this is what it would look like:

I love them!

I agree we all have lanyards but please can we order some? I need to add to my collection for each specialty cruise. If no one wants to head this up I guess I can find out from a friend who ordered on the EB PC. The problem I think - unless we go with Danielle's suggestions (if they do lanyards) is that they usually require a minimum and price discounts don't occur until after several 100's right?

I never used my lanyards on any other cruise, but I used it all the time on the repo. I even used it in Universal after the cruise. It was perfect for holding our room keys for front of the line access. I wouldn't mind one specifically made for this cruise.

One of the cruisers on our repo thread made up nametags for everyone. She came up with a great design, and put everyone's screen name (or relationship to the DISer), and their real name. They were the perfect size to slip into the lanyard. Even if we don't go with new lanyards, the nametags might be a nice idea.

Mike and anyone else, Kpros makes up some wonderful designs and I think there was a lady on the WB that made some up that were similar. I can ask how they did it and if you can work something up I can print them up. Anyone up for that? See Mike, you'r volunteered again! :lmao:

Speaking of which, where can we get the new logos?

I just heard from Sandra & Gerry. They just took a RC cruise and said it was nice, but not Disney. They won't be joining us on the cruise, but said to say hello to all of you.:lovestruc

Jumping in for a quick hello on my first break! Things are going well, we're all just trying to get back in the swing of things!
so glad everything worked out!!

love all the ideas- :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 !!!!

Sallie - out here we are FACTS (basically automated payments - they start in July and end in April - we get 2 months off before we start. Also, I estimate that we went from $5100 just 2 years ago to $6200 (and that's not even counting the mandatory parents hours! ) :scared1: Be prepared - be very prepared! I feel like doing this :faint: every time a new month rolls around.

Hi Laura- I hear ya!! We live in a neighborhood known for its school system- and we pay the taxes to hold that reputation up- $16,000.00 :scared1: :scared1: are my taxes for a modest tudor with practically no property!
I ,of course, have not been happy with the school district for many reasons, so I knew we would be sending carley to private high school. Her tuition is $7,200.00 per year !!!:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: That extra $ was formally our Disney vacation money- so probably no Mickey for me this year:sad1: :sad1:

How about we put a Wanted poster on the main Dis Board saying....

WANTED
MaryJo
for her effervescent personality,
kind and giving nature,
lovable DIS friend and cruise companion extraordinaire!!!
We miss you !!!

Mary Ann - which ABD did you do? I signed up for Peru Friday and got a pre-night today. I'm excited - how'd you like it and would you do it again?

We did Quest for the West (Wyoming - Jackson Hole, Yellowstone. and a Dude Ranch). It was AWESOME!!!!!! Although I've always wanted to see Yellowstone, I really did this one for Tom, as he puts up with my Disney fix and goes to WDW without complaint. But as it ended up, I had a ball!!!! I went mountain hiking, white water rafting, and saw such phenomenal scenery. Everyone should do a trip like this once in their life! You will not be disappointed with ABD. It was top of the line all the way. Our guides were wonderful. We never felt rushed and saw sooooo much. We'd do another one in a blink. We just need time and money.:rotfl2:

Anyway, Tom will be soooo jealous. He wants to do the Peru one so badly. Of course I said it was last on my list, but I will eventually give in. Please let us know how it was. When are you going??

How are you feeling Sallie????

How are you feeling Sallie????

HI Mare- I am feeling better with my side- although not 100% yet- I have been so busy around the house and at work, Im just run down and tired on top of that. I cant wait to get a free weekend so we can go out to dinner!
carley wanted me to tell you that the try outs for Sacred Hearts Red and Gold today- she is so excited- she wanted to know if your daughter did it

I think all the girls did it! At least she did as a freshman. That's all she spoke about for months! She's going to love it!!! At Kellenberg we have Blue and Gold (our school colors). Almost all the girls participate, too.

Ah, to be young again......... on second thought, naaaaa.

Yeah - last year it went from $6100 to this year $6380 not counting all the sports season hours and uniforms and she does volleyball, soccer and track in that order. Then add in zero period fees - its discouraging but a lot better than the public school down the street which just added 10 ft high fences to their already existing ones. Wonder if they are trying to keep the thugs out or the kids in. :rotfl: April is a bit of a gentle soul and kinda quiet so I would hate to see what would happen to her in public school. Not that the girl gave me a choice - she is much better off in a Catholic high school - she just got her scholar athlete patch and her awards and she found out that she got in CSF - CA Scholarlship Federation. All in all - this girl is thriving in Catholic school so I don't have the heart to pull her out. If it ain't broke - we have to stick with it.

I am going 8/3 - ABD starts 8/4-8/12. As I said, had to use the points and the credit cards pts but its still a bit scary. Have heard nothing but good things about it so I'm hopeful. Will definitely keep you all updated, you'll all be tired of hearing about it from me. I'll take plenty of pictures too! ;)

After this, I'll only have Greece and Egypt left for my absolutely most do before I die - although I have added a few to the list but those can wait! :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I say it all the time- I would never want to young in this day and age- even with all the electronics, expensive toys and so on- I am so glad I grew up in a different time, with a slower pace- less violence-a time when morals and values meant something to the majority instead of the minority.. oh Ill stop the soapbox now.... Im just glad Im old!!:upsidedow :upsidedow

BTW, added some logos - bring out your :magnify: glass - but at least they are in there. LOL and my smiley.

I don't like Twain in the least! I wish we lived closer together, Laura -- as you know, I go to things all the time and am always looking for a friend to go with me . . .

Julie- we are coming next year!!!!

Sallie, my friend -- you ARE close enough to go to things with me!

BTW, added some logos - bring out your :magnify: glass - but at least they are in there. LOL and my smiley.

I'm sorry, Laura, but your signature line reminds me of the tiny Stonehenge in "This is Spinal Tap" . . . did you confuse feet and inches?:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Nope - just tired of having my logos "squished" so in an effort - I gave up and put them as teeny tiny as possible just to see if the signature would be ok - and wouldn't you know it? It took it. :confused3 I'm going to watch it for a few days and see if it keeps playing or whether it stays the same. It was fickle with the other size. So as you know - stay tuned for the continuing saga of Laura vs. DIS boards signature line. :upsidedow
