Not envy from you, of all people!!! Actually I hate telling people what I am doing and having a few say "I hate you -- just kidding!" as always happens -- I'm sure you have gotten this as well!

I know what you mean..........I'd rather not tell people then defend my plans! I'm still trying to decide what to do this year......I know I'll regret if I don't make warm sunny plans!:thumbsup2

I ordered a ton of stuff for our FE in December from Vistaprint: sticky notes, pens, magnets, stickers, etc. I uploaded Disney/DCL designs and had them printed. They all turned out very nice. The company shipped very quickly. You can find lots of coupon codes for their stuff by just googling. I also ordered personalized Sharpies from sharpie.com to add to the "cruise essentials" bags I made up with stuff like a 1st aid kit, Downy wrinkle release, a small lint roller, a small tube of sunscreen, a highlighter, a small packet of Tide (I put that in a small ziplock), a packet of Shout stain remover, an emory board, a pack of gum, a tube of chapstick, small pack of q-tips and dental floss sticks. They are all very small sample sizes and things I think people could really use. The FE recipients I received (each of our FE groups was divided into 8 staterooms) are all adults this time so I wanted to get stuff I didn't think they'd throw out.

On our Med cruise one of my friends got lime green rubber bracelets made with our cruise dates and they went over well. Another one of our members made nice name tags for everyone at our cruise meets. We had a great turn out at the meet on a sea day and Capt Tom came for pictures with our group.

These are great ideas!!:thumbsup2

It's at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine on the west side of Manhattan . . . for Halloween they show a silent movie with live organ accompaniment (this year, Phantom of the Opera; other years, Nosferatu or the Cabinet of Dr. Caligari) and then when it is over the procession of the ghouls start. It is very cool and worth it to get there early and be on an aisle, as I was, because the ghouls interact with people near them and the place is enormous -- so not everyone is that close. It's a ticketed event and sells out two showings every year.

Ok, I'm scared just hearing about this!:scared:

:lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc that post. Yes ::yes:: lets do it! :rotfl2:

I am going 8/3 - ABD starts 8/4-8/12. As I said, had to use the points and the credit cards pts but its still a bit scary. Have heard nothing but good things about it so I'm hopeful. Will definitely keep you all updated, you'll all be tired of hearing about it from me. I'll take plenty of pictures too! ;)

After this, I'll only have Greece and Egypt left for my absolutely most do before I die - although I have added a few to the list but those can wait! :rotfl2:

Ok, my list..........

Australia (Great Barrier Reef)
South Pacific
Japan
China
African safari
Yellowstone National Park
Wild West
Grand Canyon
World Cruise
South America
Greek Isles
Back to Italy....at least 5 more times.......
Munich (my dad's homeland)

I think that's it.......with a bunch of redos.......:woohoo:

Sorry - folks, had to edit realized I posted the wrong info. Sorry!

I thought I was the only person in American not to have gone to Yellowstone or Yosemite National Park or the Sequoias.

As for China - I just want to touch the wall!

Grand Canyon I've been too just haven't walked down nor am I really sure I want to - I mean I want to walk down but can I get a lift out? :rotfl2:

I agree with you - for Italy, I wonder if I can hire myself out as a language teacher for a summer? :confused3

As for Russia, I think St. Petersburg may quench that urge.

I have however, added:

Galapagos,
Great Wall,
Turkey - Istanbul
Outback in Australia
and Croatia
...
...
...
and the 4-day woman's hike up to Machu Picchu
some place in Africa - perferably Tanzania (Get it?? - Only open Tanzanite mine still open....:lmao: )
among others........

now did I forget anything? Probably but that is my perogative as a woman - to change my mind and add or detract right?

At one time I had the base of Mt. Everest on here but that was deleted. I'm sure I left something out - I'll pipe in again when someone else's choices reminds me again. ;)

Just a question but are we allowed to post something I came across about tour guides? I saw something regarding a private tour in Amsterdam: Let me see if I can edit some of it.

I know that many of our friends are of the Jewish faith and evern though I am not - this tour sounds awful exciting for me. I took my oldest to see the Simon Wiesenthal Museum of Tolerance in LA and it was one of the most inspirational and moving experiences to date. So this may be something I might look into for our group too. Let me know if anyone would like to see more info and how to contact the tour guide. I edited some personal info out. But one question for those that have traveled - does this seem expensive for a day tour? For some reason I think it might be but then again - is it really? :confused3

May I take this opportunity to remind everyone of the following:

Hurry up now - get out there and VOTE! ;)

You caught me Dan - although I showed DD this already and now she's upstairs talking to DH about it. Guess I'd better take her to our Museum of Tolerance down here. Thanks Dan!

Although now you've got me wondering what the airfares for a post cruise would be? And if I could mail home some of my suitcases?

Just one more day of addiction to CNN and FiveThirtyEight.com. I'll be able to go back to a simple DIS addiction.

The Museum of Tolerance is a great museum - I've been there several times. Then stop off at Canter's Deli and you've had as good a Jewish experience as you can get outside of New York :cool2:.

It's way, way too early for me to think seriously about pre-post stays. So much uncertainty in the economy. I'm barely able to even think about Wednesday....

I'm lucky I can go any time during the day since I work from home and the polls are a half mile away. DH called me a half hour ago and said the line was out the door to the end of the parking lot at the fire hall we vote in and hadn't moved in the 10 minutes he was there. He's a police officer and had to head to work in Maryland so he'll probably be waiting in an even longer line tonight.

Morning Izzi! I'm getting ready to leave for work soon! I'll vote after work!

Morning Carolyn....I hope you have a good day today.....how was yesterday ??

Could someone please tell me why the queues to vote are/are expected to be so huge ? When we vote here in a general election we just stroll down to the local school/church hall or whever they local polling station is and vote. I've never heard of there being long queues waiting to vote :confused3 :confused3 Must be a US vote thing
