What is your favorite port (the one you are looking forward to the most)?

For me St Petersburg, followed close by Tallin.
It will be interesting to see if those are my favorites post cruise

I am really excited about seeing St. Petersburg and whatever part of Germany I will see close to Warnemunde on the train!

My DS's friend's family are in the military and were stationed in Germany many years ago. The Mom told me that a popular drink was Pilsner(?) beer and fanta soda
I'm not a beer drinker, so the rest of you are who are can try it for me and tell me what you think

For me St. Petersburg followed closely by Tallin are also the ports I am most looking forward to. I think knowing that we will no doubt book a private excursion in STP takes some stress off for this week. l I have some more research to do regarding Tallin, but I did read somewhere that if you take ride up to the top of the city and then walk back down you will see most everything.

Back to my addiction here 2 hours before bed. I think I feel a sleepless night coming on.

I saw a couple of people asking about being in StP to just walk around, you still need your guide with you. When we were at the industrial port in 2008 there was a shop set up that you could walk to before you went back thru immigration and board the ship. This was the only place that you could walk on your own.

Looks like she's being moved to China for the summer. So, the Disney Magic sails into her port several times -- for the first time -- and she moves to China?

From 1 May - 31 October 2010 The Little Mermaid will sit in the harbour bath in the heart of the Danish Pavilion at World EXPO in China, where 70 million people will get a chance to meet the world-famous lady.

I had my DH call for us for the cruise/flight part. I'm still nervous making important phone calls with the cochlear implant. We have 3:45 for the cruise and 5:00 for the flight on Friday the 16th.
My DH then saw they had an email address for the restaurant and decided I could do that part...
Still waiting to hear back about the Porters reservation, but hoping for 6:30 or so

How did he get through? I can't seem to get the phone number to work. I get a "the code you have dialed is invalid" The international access is 011 UK is 44 and London is 20 so it should be 011 44 20 0870 xxx xxxx right?

We are waiting to start doing all of our London planning until early next week after we have all of the shore excursions signed up for. (That and the in-laws are currently in Mexico so we can't do anything right now anyway).

We are hoping to do the dinner/eye/cruise thing with Porters and we have TOL Key Ceremony tickets for Friday night the 16th. I know we are planning on going out to Stonehenge/Bath one day seeing the castle west of London. We are also going to take a couple of days and tour the Kent region to see all of the castles down in that area as my wife is really into castles. We still have to look through all of the actual London stuff to figure out what we want to see in the city (so keep the information coming as to what you all are doing as it is great for getting ideas )

But..I've heard it is not that big of a deal actually as the statue is quite small and several people have said that it is a little disappointing when you first see it
Not even sure if we will shell out the $20 pp to see the replica in Tivoli either...I think the Rosenborg castle looks cool

Now I know what Karen means by getting jealous reading the plans others have. Gotta go back for the castles next time as we are stretched as it is.

Tallin is going to be the next stressor. Not sure whether to do a walk, the HOHO or do the Best of Tallin with lunch and concert. That sounds really nice too. Of course it depends if it is still available.

Printed off a bunch more pages of tour descriptions to go over with DH. I wonder if Disney knows or cares how many trees they are causing to be cut down?

I received my quote from Anastasia today. If anybody is interested in an itinerary that DOES NOT include the Hermitage, but includes: city sightseeing with subway ride, Peter & Paul Fortress, dinner, the Folkloric Show on the first 1/2 day then the 2nd day is Pushkin and Peterhoff, hydrofoil back to city center, early dinner, shopping time then back to the ship by 7PM all with private driver and guide we are open to sharing this excursion with 2 -4 more people. Price per person with 4 people would be approx. $430.00 depending on exchange rate at one month prior to travel. You may PM me if interested for more details. . We are also flexible if somebody wanted to swap out St. Isaac's Cathredral or Cathredral of the Spilled Blood for Peter & Paul Fortress.

Those that are doing London Eye, river cruise and Porters for dinner on Friday night, have you called yet to get a flight number? Also, how about dinner reservations? I got my email confirmations last night.

We (and I know at least MrsScooby) are using this site http://shop.porters.uk.com/ for the London Eye package on Friday night. There are other dinner packages available on the London Eye site. http://www.londoneye.com/TicketsAndPrices/Packages/Dining/Default.aspx

Our confirmations were for getting our time for the London Eye and River cruise. This is what it said in my email:
When you have downloaded and printed your voucher please telephone The London Eye on +44 (0)870 400 3040 to arrange your flight and cruise times, please quote 'VIP-Internet' and the Voucher Number shown on your voucher. You will receive a flight confirmation number which must be written on the voucher. We recommend that you call as soon as possible to ensure that you fly at your preferred time. You will not be able to get on the London Eye and River Cruise without this Flight Number!

You will then need to take your voucher with you to the London Eye, please ensure that you arrive 30 minutes before your flight time in order to exchange your voucher for tickets.


Then I also have to confirm with Porters for our reservation time for dinner. I'm guessing on this one we let them know what time we'd like to do dinner.

We booked out cruise/Eye/Porter's meal for Fri eve as well. (Laurie, our cruise is at 3:45 and eye at 5PM, too. Our dinner is at 6PM)

I like eating early at 6:00 usually, but I was worried we would be rushed getting from the London Eye to Porters, so I asked for 6:30.

If we ever get our dinner reservation we'll have quite the Dis meet there
