Hi Guys :wave2:

If your looking  for info on Berlin, Tallinn or St. Petersburg, try:

www.inyourpocket.com

It has info and some really good maps. You can download the guide or purchase it. :surfweb: I downloaded and printed what I wanted. The info printed very clean and crisp.

Enjoy!

Thanks for reposting this website. It is listed in the first post.

Ooops, keep forgetting those sites are there.

Me too and I had the info for several of them. I even brought my sloooowwww laptop home from FL because it has all my saved links from the last cruise on it. :rotfl2:

Can someone post the email address to contact Anastasia? WIth the times of the Disney excursions we are going to re-look at all options. I looked through the thread but must have missed it.

Found it. By the way - the link in the first post didn't take me anywhere :)

Thanks, I've updated the first post. At one time that was the correct link, I see that she's updated her website.

Quick hello to all.

Anyone ever check out the icebar in London? We hated to use up an excursiom to visit the one is Sweden when we see there is one in London. Anyone ever visited? Is it worth it?

Which excursion combo are you trying for? Maybe there's something different about that particular combo...

I'm trying the the ballet in the evening and the Spilled Blood Cathedral and Boat tour in the afternoon.

A DCL manager called today to say they are still investigating and it will take until Friday. At this point I just have to shake my head and wonder.:sad2:

Hi
We've been to an icebar in Australia and really thought it was a neat place to visit. We thought about going to the one in London to see how different it is compared to the one we went to since they are owned by different companies. Still haven't decided if we are going to or not.
We were bummed we weren't allowed to pics inside tho.

We booked out cruise/Eye/Porter's meal for Fri eve as well. (Laurie, our cruise is at 3:45 and eye at 5PM, too. Our dinner is at 6PM)

Hope you got through on the phone Caro. I emailed Porters with the time I wanted and they responded the next day, no problem.

Welcome home Barb! Hope you had a great time!

We got the London Pass plus 3 day transport option. This will give us admission to most tourist attractions, plus let us cut the lines on the free ones.

Mrs G,
I was going back thru some of the past posts :surfweb: and saw that you purchased the London Pass plus 3 day transport option. :car::drive: I was reading up on what the London Pass and transport pass offered and am wondering about the pricing. I am seeing 83.20 pounds sterling for the 3 day combo. This is for an adult ticket. How does that compare to what you paid for the 3 day combo pass? :flower3: I've got to research zones 1-6 and see what is covered by it and what's not. :confused3 They are offering a 10% discount if booked by April 26.:woohoo:

Our London Eye flight and cruise times are 3:45 and 5PM as well.:grouphug:

Usually they at least try to be more helpful:confused3

I'm going to be MIA for the next few days.
I'm chaperoning my DS's school band trip to NY and leaving tomorrow morning. Suppose to see a Met game tomorrow night if it doesn't rain:guilty:
Then the band plays Friday morning, then we get to see South Pacific Friday night and then Phantom of the Opera Saturday afternoon:woohoo:

Must remember to watch the kids too:rolleyes1:laughing:

Maybe we'll be on a new thread when I get back if you all keep planning like this:thumbsup2

I have a question about these private tours in St. Petersburg: Is anyone who booked with Anastasia, Denrus, Red October, etc. getting their own individual visas?

I'm getting conflicting information on whether a visa is needed. DCL says you must have a visa unless you are taking the ship's excursions. But all the tour operators say you don't need a visa if you are with a licensed local tour operator. Individual visas are expensive, but I'm worried about not being let off the ship if DCL insists we have our own visas.

Just curious... what's everyone else doing?

Anastasia tours and the other companies too will provide a "blanket visa" that covers your time off the ship while you are with one of their guides/drivers. There is no need to get your own visa unless you want to go off completely on your own for sightseeing. :scared1:

POTO is one of our favorite musicals. It was here in Orlando this past February. Have a great time!
We purchased tickets to it's sequel "Love Never Dies" in London before we cruise.

This is the information on the DCL website. You can find it yourself under St. Petersburg, travel information, travel documentation and then click on the link. I was also told that I would need two copies of my passport, one for each morning:
Russian Tourist Visa Sponsorship
Should you wish to obtain an individual Russian Tourist Visa, you will need to be sponsored by a licensed Russian Tour Company. This company will have to create a program and provide a voucher to the Guests confirming all the arrangements along with a reference letter that includes a visa reference number. Once a visa has been issued, it needs to reference the same Russian tour provider as the voucher confirmation. A Russia Tourist Visa will not be accepted by the Russian Immigration official as valid without a confirmation voucher for pre-arranged services.

Guests should consider the following when selecting a tour provider in St. Petersburg. The tour provider:

Needs to be licensed to operate in Russia and authorized to provide services to foreign visitors.
Must be authorized to issue Russian visa reference numbers.
Should be authorized and have a permit to meet the Guest inside the Port of St. Petersburg. If the tour provider is not authorized to enter the port area, you will be advised to meet them at the port entrance, which is located approximately 3 miles from where the ship docks.
The Russian Tourist Visa issued and stamped on your passport will apply only to the referenced tour company, the person named on the visa and for a specific travel date. The sponsor of each tourist visa is legally required to be the provider of services for the Guest named on the visa and will have his or her license revoked if a visa holder is found ashore without a pre-arranged activity.

The above requirements are subject to revision at any time without prior notification. Please also be aware that these regulations can also be at the discretion of the individual officers on duty on the day of arrival and may vary at any time. Additional information is available at the U.S. Department of State website. Visas must be obtained at a Russian embassy or through a visa service prior to departing the U.S. Your passport will be required for issuing the visa.

.

This is what I'm wondering about. There seems to be contradictory information. The DCL website says you have to get an individual tourist visa (issued and stamped on your passport) AND have the confirmation letter from the Russian tour company, or they won't let you off the ship. But the tour companies all say you do not need any visa if you are with a licensed tour company.

Also the DCL website states:
"Additional information is available at the U.S. Department of State website." But the U.S Dept. of state website says "International cruise ship passengers do not need visas if they remain with authorized tour groups at all times while ashore." See http://www.travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1006.html.

Just wondering: for those of you who have booked with a private tour...Are you going to get actual visas stamped in your passport beforehand? Did you get some document from the tour company that says "blanket visa", or did they just say don't worry you don't need a visa?

I do not plan on getting a separate visa stamped in my passport beforehand. The tour company I use in St. P will/should provide the blanket visa to you ahead of time. That's the way it worked for friends of mine who lined up a private guide/driver in St. P last summer. The visa was sent to them ahead of time.
The cruise lines I think try and scare :scared1::scared1: you so much that you'll feel that you need to take their tours. :rolleyes1

Hope this helps!
