Please say HI to MaryJo and Marla and give them our best! Glad you and Andrew are having a great time! Enjoy!

Hope all Mom's had a Happy Mother's Day!

Sounds just wonderful. Do you have a corner room? I've heard they are very large and very nice.

Have a great cruise.

If you have a chance can you see if there is a server still onboard named Cedomir (pronounced - Chedomear) from Croatia? We had him as an asst. server on our first cruise in '99 and then saw him again 2 years ago on the Wonder, he came back after being gone for a few years. If he's still there we would love to request him for our cruise next month. I should have thought to ask you sooner than now.
asked last night, he is now a Head Server on the Magic.
WOO HOO, it's Castaway Cay day! Conch Cooler anyone?

Thanks for asking. I'm happy for him, but sad he won't be on the Wonder next month.

Hope you didn't leave rose petals stains everywhere. :flower3: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :dance3: So what did you do with the rose petals? :confused3

 Actually we already get the FL res. discounts since we already have FL ID's. But now we can legally have them. :rotfl2:

Thanks for the good wishes everyone. We are looking forward to a couple of hard working days on the 24th of this month when we go down. Anyone want to join us for the "moving in of the furniture" party? :confused3 :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Oooooh, tempting. But we have bachelor, bachelorette parties that weekend. DBIL is getting married on June 6th so we've got a busy weekend. Even though it will be hard work for you, it will be such fun, too.
Don't forget the pics! :3dglasses

Thanks! I wish I was there today . . . but I still have to wait about 3 1/2 months . . .

WE have 6 weeks until we are there.
I'm going to have to try and take a cool shot of the ship when we are there.

I've got just over 2 months to go..........:cool1: Barb, I finally fixed my countdowns.........

My brain has been so rattled lately I didn't even notice you hadn't fixed it before now.

I know this is a bit off topic, but thought some of the more experienced cruisers might know the answer:

I just noticed that DCL has announced a whole series of cruises with various Disney channel stars for this summer. My first thought was that doing this with such short notice is probably a way to fill the ships. On checking the July cruises (which are within the 90 day mark) I find that all of them seem wide open with category 12 pricing offered.

So my question is - how does this compare with previous summers? Are things indeed slower than usual? Or is this a typical pattern?

You'd think I'd know this after so many cruises, but all of my Caribbean cruises to date have been fall or Spring - haven't planned a summer until this year (I'm tentatively booked for the August 13th 10th anniversay on the Wonder cruise).

Thoughts?

Let's put it this way, last year FL res rates were only offered on 3 or 4 7 day cruises during the year until Nov. rolled around and just about every 7 day cruise this year has had FL res. rates, which is unheard of the the previous years. Also, they've expanded their military discounts to include people that weren't eligible before, plus all the kids sail free or sail at ½ price promos have been offered. Even with all these promos and CM sail away rates (offered last minute for CM's) they still can't fill the ships as easily as they have in the past years. This is definately due to the economic times we are in right now.
I'm thinking of taking one of those 3 or 4 day cruises this summer if I can get a really good rate from FL res. or can talk one of my CM friends into going.

I keep checking on our 4 day cruise that leave on Father's day and cabins are still widly available and there are still open spots of brunch. Since there are still brunch openings available I definately see this ship not being full even with the specials that are being offered.

This summer is definately not the norm for DCL and the next couple of years, in terms of bookings/promos/room upgrades, shouldn't be based on what is happening this year.

Just my 2 cents.

I wish I could find a deal after our RC cruise my wife would really like a relaxing vacation for the family.

I called my TA the least expensive 7 day DCL cruise she could find us with connecting Cat 5's was for about 15K that is for 6 of us at about $2500 each for a 7 day cruise!:headache:

I think that is pricey! I could sail an RC cruise for 12 day's out of Venice for 12.5K with connecting (Smaller) Balcony staterooms! of course air fare to Venice & back from Barcelona would be about 5.5K for 6:scared1:

You could take DD & I and your mom to get the FL resident rates. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: :dance3: :yay:

Even more relaxing would be to drop the kids off with your mom and just you and DW gon on a cruise. :rotfl2:

My mom is 85 my 4 almost 5 year old is akin to Speedy Gonzalez on Emphetamines!:scared1::lmao: The rest of my children are more like a pack of Trial Attorney's!:scared1::scared1::scared1:
Obviousely my mother would not make it to 86 if I did this!:sad2:

It is unfortunate as the cruise was one of the Tortola cruises leaving on (Wait for it) 7/18:thumbsup2:laughing: I would have really like'd to go! there was even a Cat 2 available for 24K:headache::scared1:

I know our 8/15 cruise is nearly sold out, I think the school holiday ones to end of August have held up, well, its all the ones either side that didn't sell as well.

The Wonder is having more difficultly than the 7 night Magic, presume as thats more of an expensive add on to WDW, rather than a vacation in itself.

People have the Magic as a destination, the Wonder as a rest. (How else do you explain gong to Nassau
