Hey all, I've been busy getting my DDs' BFs booked on my cruise this summer, one down, one to go.............I've had to make some changes to the flight, add them to our ressie and overall, try not to lose too money in the process....once everything is resolved, I'll be able to book ressies, so I'm WAY behind schedule..............welcome back Laura, happy vacay packing, Carolyn!!

I'm finally home! I know you all missed me!

Life has been a whirlwind since Feb/Mar but I believe that I may finally be settling down enough to attempt to keep up. Just got back from a spring break trip to Europe with the girls and about 38 other spoiled brats - you think we complained about Europe? You should have seen the girls! We got delayed by one day in London due to our plane having a generator problem from Madrid to London but we spent the night at the Renaissance Hotel outside the London/Heathrow airport. Did you know the Pound was less than the Euro? I guess things have been pretty bad.

Anyway, not sure if I've missed much but when I logged onto the DIS, I have noticed some changes on notifications. Now, can anyone tell me how to clear the notifications? I've looked at them but they haven't cleared. Anything else I should be aware of?

Now off to see what I can catch up with.

Laura welcome back, this week the Pound took a tumble after the UK budget report by the government, it had risen for most of April to $1.50, fell back, but is slowly going back up again now, in theory we are just above the Euro but Heathrow exchange people might have larger margins.

Hello Celestine,
How are you, DH, and the girls? Caro & I have been wondering about you and if you were still coming. We hope so.

Definitely still coming along with my parents & our table nates from the PC cruise. Attended a sort of induction thing for my new job on Thursday & was told we could only take annual leave (for the next 4 years) during certain weeks when there is no training - had to tell the tutor that I've already got a weeks hol booked at the end of November the cruise next year & no I can't move it!!!! Just hopeful that the cruise doesn't coincide with any exams.

Still waiting on paperwork from the seller's title company. At least they are paying the water/electric bills and taxes and we still have the money in the bank earning interest. Our realtor is going to send them a "polite email" tomorrow to see what's going on.

Don't mention the £ at the moment, our Government put their size twelve foot in it this week, when they come out with statistics, that are proven wrong in a day, no wonder international investors do not have faith in our currency.

Under all of it, actually we are OK, its just bad PR.

Anyway do not want to fall foul of the politics and religion rules so .....

Kara is at her last day to become a certified Red Cross life guard - hopefully she passes everything - gets her certificate and then she can start applying for a job this summer

Her prom is next Sat night - she has the dress and shoes and maybe a date

then graduation is 6 weeks later

have a great week

update - Kara just called - she passed everything and is certified in all areas

Hey all, we had an amazingly warm day day here at the shore............it was like summer in April............hope all had a restful weekend!

It just killed me but I had to turn on the a/c tonight when we got back from dinner. It was 84 on the first floor and I felt bad for DH since he was headed upstairs to take a nap before going into work, it was even hotter up there. I shouldn't have to turn on the a/c in April in DE.
