Call me anything, but please, please not Maggie Thatcher!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I was really disappointed with the kid clubs on RC -- the way you have to keep picking them up because the clubs close every few hours!

Hey Maggie, you missed my birthday you of all people thought it would be on your calender in pride of place!!!

Can I say ...

Went to the Doctor today,,,

Said I sneezed

He gave me some Oinkment!!

(Poor taste I know)

My wife got pretty heavily chastized for bringing our daughters up at 8:15 instead of 8 for pirate night & told that they would not be able to participate in almost everything (in front of the children) they were so upset they did not want to go & my wife ended up taking them to the ice show instead!:scared1::sad2:

I'm not surprised to hear it . . . the ice show is pretty cool on those ships, though.

Did I really miss your birthday! I'm sorry!:flower3: I know I've remembered other years -- it's been very busy around here lately so I've let a lot of important things like your birthday go . . .

U could always pick on Julie!;)

Oh Oh! Picking on Julie - Haven't you learned from Andrew? :lmao:

Yeah, I'm tough and can take it -- unlike you apparently, Robert!;)

Glad you are back and had a good trip -- I sailed once on RC after being accustomed to DCL and had many of the same feelings . . .Still, it's better to be sailing than home working regardless, right?:goodvibes

I agree with Julie - better to be sailing than working - I'm game for that! :rotfl:

OMG! Seriously? I have never used the kids club on another ship but I would have gone back to the room in tears. I'm sure glad that I don't have need for the kids club anymore and if I must sail with any youngsters, I'll highly recommend DCL. Thanks for the heads up. I hope that the older kids clubs are just a bit better. Yikes! Just the thought of being chastised. Makes me  I sometimes hate conflict!

Oh - BY THE WAY!

Happy Belated Birthday Andrew. Hope all went well for you!

Did you at least have some :cake:. Its Steve's birthday tomorrow and I'm debating on baking him a :cake:! Me - baking - yes - you've read right. ;)

The Teens were not thrilled with there groups either, I got the feeling that there was a definite lack of enthusiasm from there counselors!:confused3

Wow - that's too bad. Well, at least I hope they had fun doing other activites. Maybe on other lines I'd concentrate on having my kids with me - assuming of course that they were just a bit younger. LOL - wait - I don't want to go through all that. Anyways, that's a shame about the teen club. Maybe someday the other cruise lines will catch up with DCL. Can we hope?

OK - done so much :laundy: have to run out and get more laundry soap. Be back on later to skim. TTYL

So - :scratchin - does that make you an Aries or a BULL? ;)

Just kidding - Happy Belated Birthday to you too!

Thank You All! :goodvibes I feel better - glad I was missed.

On a note, took oldest DD out to Northridge. We drove up to Monterey, CA just before we left to take a look at Cal State Monterey Bay . Wasn't too impressed with it. So now DD got confirmation that she will be attending Cal State Northridge. Course, she is too late for dorm living. So we checked out an apartment that is literally 15 seconds walking distance from the campus. So, to save $450 dollars a semester in parking pass permit, we are going to spend $950 on a studio apt (for 8 months) right across the street from the campus. DD gets to walk (and building has no elevator) to campus.

After finally begging, pleading and coercing the older two kids to leave the house, I'm finally getting my wish and on the way home (Northridge is about 1 hr away from me) I got hit with what I suspect is the first of my kids leaving the house blues. :guilty: My son is not living with us at the moment (ongoing saga of the Hatfields and McCoys) but the good news is we are on speaking terms. LOL - we are actually super civil to each other. Anyway, I was rather quiet on the ride home and I now realize so was DD - maybe it has something to do with the fact that I told her we'd pay the apt but she'd have to find a part-time job for "expenses" = "food" .

You know - I thought I'd be happy to see my kids leave but really, I'm in limbo - not sure how I feel anymore. DD has helped so much with my youngest, I'm really going to miss that. I hope she will adjust much better than I suspect I might. Gosh - I bet the last one will be the worst - any suggestions on how to overcome these blues?

Welcome back Rjayl - good going Kara - and to anyone else that needs :goodvibes - here's some  and :flower3: to get you through the day!

Welcome to my world.....our youngest left in August and we're still recovering.......my oldest is in Brooklyn and working, TG!!.......my middle is moving to Miami next month.......talk about depression.........:confused3

This summer only the oldest and youngest can make the cruise and we're still working on BFs (one's in, one's ?).......this is worse than when you're trying to coordinate your own family!:scared1:

Next summer only the oldest can go on this cruise, which is a complete bummer......:sad2:

My kids made us travel another line and after a few days on RCL.....they were begging to return to DCL! We'll never go back!
