Dont Forget U will have another BarMitzvah!:lmao:

In 2011 & 2012 we will be doing Holiday cruises you know anytime from the 20th of December to after NewYears. It will be the only winter break where my whole family will be able to go together as my son will be in college!:confused3

On the bright side I will probaly start spending February school vacation in WDW again with the rest using points at one of the DVC resorts!:woohoo::yay::dance3:

Yea the second barmitzvah is April 2011 hence the reluctance to do this cruise what with things being a bit fragile on the financial front, but by 2012 they'll all be over and we can start living again....hopefully ;);)

We get a week in Feb & April, my guess is that Allen (my Oldest) will go to a regular spring break college schedule (Long Holiday Break into January & week off in March) in 2012;)

Though there is talk of going to the new Hawaii DVC resort over the summer in either 2011 or 2012 with a stop in DL maybe at the new GCV!:thumbsup2

I will definitely be loving those DVC points in the coming years!:cool1::thumbsup2:banana:

Once upon a time when happier money times were here and the £ v $ rate was in our favour we looked into getting DVC points, but for us our largest expense is always the flight so it never seemed worth it. Having said that I wonder if it would have made a difference now as we would have already had our accomodation paid for and all we'd need to find was flights ..... oh well no good saying "if only" when we didn't :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Well if the pound goes up boy there are some good deals on resales right now!

We started with resales at the Beach Club Villas (love the location & Storm Along Bay) we bought before the prices went crazy!

However I just bought a large number of points from Disney at the Bay Lake Towers which has a great location and 1 thing the Beach Club Villas dont have, Grand Villas which we really can use for space for the family!

How much bigger are the new villias in comparison to The Beach club and Yaght club ??? I've always wanted to stay at the BC or YC as we've walked passed stormalong bay so many times and always wanted to try it. We've only ever stayed at The Swan or Dolphin as Paul wanted to get away from Mickey when he went to bed :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Did you see the they've announced the free dining plan again if you go to WDW this summer ? For a 2 week stay that could save us over $2000 which is a fair amount :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 We still ain't going though :sad1::sad1:

The Biggest Villa at the Beach Club is a 2 bedroom so you would have a King bed in the master & 2 Queen beds in the 2nd bedroom plus a sleep sofa in the living room so it is a 2 bed 2 Bath with a Kitchen & Laundry sleeps 7!

At Bay Lake Towers they have Grand Villas which are 3 bedrooms on 2 floors with 3 & 1/2 bath sleep 12!

These are also available at the Boardwalk Villas, Saratoga Springs & Old Key west resorts @ WDW

Hope this helps

I was just being nosy, I can't see us ever staying in a villa, although I supposed as the boys get older it would be nice to have a bit more room, up till now we've always just got 2 connecting bedrooms. I wonder what the cheaper option is, 2 connecting rooms or a villa ??

Yeah we already have my mothers place in Palm Beach, though I told her to look for a deal on a house on the Intercoastal with a dock.
I think it is going to be some time before Florida Real Estate hits bottom!

I don't blame you for having her keep an eye out on something on the intercoastal. This is a good time to be looking and a good time to be buying.
Of the 13 houses for sale in the neighborhood we are looking at 11 are bank owned. The majority of the houses are less than half the price they were just 2 years ago. I think this neighborhood has hit rock bottom, other areas haven't done that yet.

I know I haven't been around much,, I've been ketching up most days just not posting....so I am keeping my beady eyes on you all :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

We're doing the same as Andrew and will probably make a final call on this cruise round about the end of the year, but in all likelyhood I can't see us going due to the cost because of the exchange rate and the recession which has dramatically decreased our household income :scared1::eek::sad1::sad1:

Well if we can start off some rumors about the USA Economy we might get that exchange rate up again:confused3

The reality is worse than any rumors you could start!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

How many disruptions are going on because of G20, Andrew? Tomorrow's the really bad day, right?

London is not looking good at the moment, a lot of the financial buildings are all boarded up to protect them, there isn't a problem with peaceful protests and I am sure they are the vast majority. Things like climate change need to be on the agenda.

But when you have things like this with global TV on London, you know there are the few who want to promote their agenda by going too far.

Mixed messages coming out, some say business as usual, other say avoid London. Some train stations near excell center in Docklands are closed for the next few days.

Your president has landed at Stansted and is now at the USA ambassadors residence, he will see our PM, and the Queen.

I am aware of some contingency plans but cant post thoose.

Whatever happens I am sure USA TV will make a meal of it.

Could you elaborate? I always sort of regretted not buying in at the beginning, and figure it's not worth it for me to start now. But if there really are some good deals out there....

Hmm..... Try one of the new ships in 2011, or take a local cruise?

I sure how they have California resident discounts (and not just Southern California resident discounts).

Quick thought,

New ships prices very high, and same old ports

Old ships, will get cheaper and go to new ports.

I know where the old savvy cruiser will go!!!

Hi All,

Welcome back Julie! Glad you had a great time!

Hope all is well in London, Andrew.

Good to hear from you Izzi. Hope things get better for you. It won't be the same without you. :sad1: Don't give up on it yet.

I think it's more a question of "when" the savvy cruiser will go. With any luck, the off-season pricing will be reasonable. I expect the first year prices will stay pretty high due to pent-up demand.

After the 15 day repo who can live with 4 day's besides my vacation philosophy is the longer the better!:thumbsup2

I do all the vacation planning if I left it to my wife we would never go anywhere!:confused3:scared1:

Listen, welcome to my world, I'm the cruise and vacay director of this family!:thumbsup2I just want to point out that my last cruise was the 11 day Med cruise so I was worried about the 4 day Wonder AND WE LOVED IT!! I'm actually sad that it's going to Cali and I KNOW I'll be going there to sail on the Wonder again!!!:cool1:
