Hi Harole Ann --

I have a quote from Anastasia, whom I loved because they don't require any deposit - in fact, you never pay a thing until the second day. I went back and forth when them for a while before getting a personalized itinerary for the two days, at a cost I thought was very reasonable. Other companies with good reputations for private tours in St. P are Denrus and Red October. I will bet MaryAnn and Tom would be interested, unless they feel more comfortable doing St P via DCL.

Do you need a visa for these excursions?

Just back from your neck of the woods, Robert. Had a great time with DS & his DF. We did a few touristy things, as we've done it all before, but it was nice just spending time with them.

We're all paid off too. Actually, we had to pay off one of us on Day 1 because we booked the other on points.

We're definately sticking with DCL excursions. Not only were they fabulous on the Med., we can charge everything to the ship in dollars and don't have to worry about the exchange rate or carrying around a lot of Euros. I know that those that did private had a wonderful time, too. Just a matter of choice.

I am leaning that way too Maryann as I know there are never any worries!

Harole Ann,

Forgot to ask, are we still linked dinner buddies on the cruise? Hope so.

Oh, yes! You, Tom, Jan, Howie, Me & Ryan. We too had our cruise paid in full since it was booked the first day open and then while on the November cruise re-booked for the discount. After Garry passed away I had need to cancel because of the money issue and my grandson jumped in unknown to me and picked up the tab and gave me the cruise as a Mother's Day gift. He is my jewel:angel: among other things! At least I raised one child right!:confused3 My son is still a mystery in a fog of life that I don't recognize!:scared1:

If you book a ship excursion in Russia or book an excursion with a company like Anastasia they will provide the Visas. If you go off the ship on your own you will need to get a visa yourself before you leave for the cruise. If you go with a company like Anastasia make sure you read / ask about the visa policy with them.

:thumbsup2
Jo, I spend a lot of time outside your door on the PC repo with the book swap, but didn't get to hang out with you at all:confused3
This time we'll rectify that:banana:

hmmm could think of a few comebacks but it is after all a family board :rotfl2:
seriously it would be nice to finally meet you

That's incredible, Dan!:cool1::cool1::cool1: Hope you are able to make this cruise -- I really think it is going to be an unforgettable 12 days:goodvibes

I still have six months or so to decide. It's an expensive trip (3 people with excursions + flights from California + pre or post stay).

And the catch is - I pay for these trips out of current income - and being self-employed that's rather unpredictible. Past year has been ok (great given the economy), but not so great as to spin off that kind of extra cash. But we'll see what happens over the next six months....

Good Morning all.
Caro, the DD's, and I had a nice dinner last night with Karen and Bob. I will post she pictures this evening after I get home from work.

Julie and Family, have a great trip.

It was just pointed out to me on the main cruise boards that my next post would be #7000. Since I've done so much posting on our 4 threads I thought it was appropriate that the post should be done on this thread.

Just wanted to mention again that we are looking forward to this cruise and getting to know everyone even more. It's been sad to see some of our fellow cruisers cancel - but totally understand that family has to come first.
Here's to the last few months of getting to know everyone and to the next 11 months of getting to know each other even more and then the best 12 days on the Magic. :woohoo: :grouphug:

Hi everyone - everything has gone quite smoothly for us today and we are relaxing in our room at the Hyatt MCO after a nice time at the pool. We will take the DCL transfers tomorrow and board the Magic. If I don't get the chance to post again, I'll be in touch again next week.

Congrats on #7000:cheer2::cheer2:

Looking forward to meeting you too:goodvibes

I'm afraid this is just the beginning. My son is 20 and I still sit on pins and needles when he drives home from college.

My DS is just 15 and 1/2. I kinda want to teach him while I still have some influence over him:rolleyes:

Hey, Where in Virginia are you from? I'm in Fairfax.

Hey Julie:yay:

Hope you have a great time:goodvibes

Darren and I stayed at the MCO Hyatt for the first time in July. LOVED going from the airport gate to my hotel:love:

Does anyone know someone that has a cochlear implant?

My audiologist talked me into looking into getting qualified for the surgery. I have a friend who's DD has one, but she got her's as a young child and I need to talk to someone that got theirs as an adult.

Good thing you flew out this morning. Flights in our area have been delayed coming/going tonight due to the storms.

Have a great cruise.
