My granddaughter is one of the kids emailing Kaitlin but she really is Allison's age. Her and her cousins 8 and 11 will definitely be going to the clubs!

Our daughter is 6 and will be turning 7 on July 30th. She can be very social and is generally not shy at all. This is her first cruise ever. Has your daughter been on a Disney cruise before?

It has been a long time since I have posted anything. We are so excited for the cruise. We are traveling with Hawaiian Mickey and wife. I have a 7 year old daughter who is kind of shy until you get to know her and I was wondering if there are any other 6-8 year old girls who would like to meet a friend. I am hoping to get her into kids club at some point and this would be easier with a friend.

Anyway, what I have heard from others is that it helps alot if you get them in there the first night when many others are in the same boat and don't know anyone. After that it can be harder (not impossible though) to find a buddy.

My DD13 (Kelly) is also a social butterfly-she loves to talk and loves to make friends with the crew as well. She is thrilled when they remember her name
My DS16 (Andrew) is mostly quiet and very much the gamer. He'll stay in the stack just for the video games

Sorry the one running through my house starts in the chest moves to the head & sinuses can cause a feever as well.

My wife is fighting it now!

I think I might be on the downhill Knock on my wooden head!

Currency exchange is available at Guest Services. The rate of exchange can fluctuate; therefore, guests should check with Guest Services.

There is no limit to the amount of money that can be exchanged onboard.

The following types of currency can be exchanged to US Dollars for no fee, with the exception of the Transatlantic, Mediterranean and Northern Europe sailings:

During the Transatlantic and Mediterranean sailings, the currencies listed below can be exchanged to Euros.

During the Northern European sailings, the currencies listed below can be exchanged to Euros, Russian Rouble, Swedish Krona, Danish Krone and UK Pounds.

Denmark Kroner
England Pound
European Union Euro
Hong Kong Dollar

I asked about making payments on our stateroom account using other currencies, and they said it could only be USD. I thought others said they made Euro payments, but to be safe I will not plan on using extra foreign currencies for that.

Based on this, I think I will only bring UK Pounds and Euros, since I can use them when I travel for work in the future. The other currencies, which I may never use again, I will buy on board so I can exchange back what I don't use. I figure I won't need much so the exchange fee won't be huge and I have to pay an exchange fee at the bank anyway. Plus I won't be stuck with unique foreign currencies if (yikes!) we can't make a stop at one of the ports.

Did not know what the private message was about, but now I know. Yes were are still doing the cruise with everyone.
We are with the Kouris family. We have booked the Eye/River Cruise and Porter's in London. Doing the Eye and River Cruise on July 15 and dinner at Porter's on July 17 at 1830.
We are also doing the Lanesbourgh for afternoon tea. Thanks for everyones suggestions of all the tea houses.

Both our daughters (Alana 16 and Kathryn 11) are very social and outgoing. Kathryn more so than Alana. I think Alana is excited to just be able to hang out in the Stack and do "teen stuff" and Kathryn is thrilled to be able to go to Ocean Quest! She also thinks she'll be spending lots of time in the pool!(she lived in it on the Panama Canal)

Thanks for this info! It's good to know! We are still undecided on what we are going to do money-wise. Would you assume that it can only be cash that they'll exchange?

Alana will see my Andrew sitting on the chair watching the video games on tv in the Stack. Ask her to check and make sure he is breathing for me Gonna leave him alone as far as the sea days as we are dragging him around quite a bit in port.

Yes, I am fairly sure it will only be cash exchanged. There are fees associated with credit card processing.

Thank you all so much for your prayers and support. It has been a long week but it is good to be back at school. Part of me is relieved as I was so worried about being away from home for 2 1/2 weeks for the cruise.

Robert, I saw your post on the planning thread - no problems if y'all decide to go to Rostock for the day. I know it's only a short train ride away and the train station is right there at the port terminal.


I have a social butterfly as well, she'll be 16. She doesn't like the stack, she'd rather stalk to Cruise Staff although so far she doesn't know of anyone that will be on this sailing. But she'll be busy keeping our friends 3 boys from getting lost on the ship, it's their first cruise and they are thrilled to be going away.


MaryAnn, so glad to hear you are back at work. I totally understand your relief amid your sadness.
