7/18/10 Mickey's Baltic Ballyhoo Part 6

So funny, I went back to look at thread number 5 to see how close we were to a pirate...only about 250 posts away:rotfl:

We'll "let" you win the next pirate Robert:rolleyes1

Or would you rather the drinks:laughing:
HMMMMM:confused::confused3;):lmao:

Signed Alana up for Drivers Ed today. :scared: She'll be going June 16- July 14, Monday-Thursday from 8:00AM to 10:00AM. The timing worked out perfectly since we leave the night of July 14! I told her that in no way, shape or form does this mean she'll be getting her license right away! Those of you that have had kids take it recently, how much was yours? Ours is 400.00.
Yup worst part is that in MA the Parents have to take a class as well:headache:popcorn::

Sorry we don't have to pay for her driver's ed class, it's included as a class in the public school system. Alexa has her 'blue card' but it can't be turned in to the State until her 16th b'day, 5/27, or after and then she will be able to get her graduated permit. The graduated permit is very strict restrictions for the first 6 months, some restrictions for the next 6 and then it automatically reverts to a 'normal' license.
I told her this will be good since she can be our designated driver when returning from Epcot and she had to remind us that the licensed driver that has to be with her for the first 6 months has to be sober. :rotfl2: There goes that idea for the first year. :headache:
DS got his license just before school started :dance3: my DD turns 15 on Monday when I think about her driving I get :scared1: and no I am not:laughing:

:wave2: Good Morning All :wave2:

I, too, have lanyards from previous Dis cruise groups. Also some magnets, laminated cards, etc.
If something were set up with CafePress I might be interested. :laundy:
My DH and I were saying that the t-shirts and lanyards made it possible to recognize people by sight. Also a Diser (Tom) on the main DCL board has his own thread for nametags. We can print up one of his name tags at home in a size that fits in the lanyard pocket with the real name/Dis name on it:confused3
The t-shirts would be nice for the embarktion day.
I think I did find the logo Mike made on the internet site for t-shirts (guess it is cafepress-but have to check).
Were you the one that asked about it before? Didn't mean to discourage the idea before, just wasn't sure then if we wanted it or not.

My Andrew is signed up for the in car driving class in August and ours cost about $250 or so:confused3

:laughing:so funny, does she realize that it is more tolerable to sit in that seat if you have had a few to calm down:rolleyes1
Wait until she is doing this for her kids someday.

My DS had his in class drivers ed during school hours as part of health class, but the in car driving time is a separate class that we have to pay for.

HMMMMM:confused::confused3;):lmao:
Take your time deciding , we have a while till the next pirate:laughing:

I can see why though. I'm a little nervous that I'll teach my DS a bad habit that will cause him problems later. But I'm sure my DH is like you-he hates any extra training

DS got his license just before school started :dance3: my DD turns 15 on Monday when I think about her driving I get :scared1: and no I am not:laughing:
I'm more nervous about my DS for some reason:confused3 My DD just seems more mature

Count us out for shirts or lanyards, just not into those things, and I don't like to wear anything with my name on it (that goes back to too many years in retail).

I know from experience that Robert is easy to spot in a crowd. :rotfl2: :lmao: :grouphug: :rotfl: Before anyone mentions the obvious, he was wearing a hat at the time but had a lost look as he was talking on the phone. :dance3: :rotfl2:

Not sure about t shirts, might be a go for us - in regards to laynards - I am not a big fan of the thick laynards, I have this little chain laynard I got that has a plastic pocket which I like better then even the cord laynards

Kara at the moment is not showing any interest in practicing her driving - her class was in the 400 - 450 dollar range and still has 2 sessions that she can book with one of their instructors

The sun is shining here for a change but rain forecasted all weekend

Ordered that Lawrence DVD and the TA got the seating time changed to the earlier one which is what we wanted.

Okay, not much, but if I do a little something each day it will keep me excited and prevent me from having too much to do right before the cruise.

Wonderful pictures:thumbsup2
Nice to see one where you are smiling:goodvibes

Laurie that's because he was at a restaurant and there was someone there Goofyier than he is. :rotfl2: :dance3: :lmao: :grouphug: :rotfl:

I'm impressed that he got his son to take a great pic with Goofy.

Funny, I just used the lanyard we had for the Med on my school keys today. I keep it in my bag and use it occassionally.

We loved the tee shirt idea because it helped us to recognize fellow Dis'ers at port and on the ship. We also had a dismeet on the ship.

I'm interested if others are as well.

Kathy,

Not sure who "owns" the logo but I love the shirts! We'd certainly like to get them. We've ordered with Cafe Press before and it worked out great.

For the repo cruise right after this one we just booked stuff and we snagged the last brunch slot available!:cheer2::banana::cool1:
