am thinking of switching my Tortola excursions plans (for April) to a snorkeling, beach excursion which meets at 7:15. Has anyone done a very early excursion like this? Were you glad or not? Did you get something to eat first? Getting up wont be too difficult as we are on the early bird side of things, but not sure if the morning rush will be stressful?

The earlier one goes snorkeling, the better off you are! Seas are calmer, which makes it easier to swim and the water's clearer because the sand hasn't been stirred up.

Some excursion reviews I read tended to agree with you. They mentioned seeing lots of sea turtles early, who left when the other boats showed up.

We 715 excursion last summer and a great part was getting back to the boat earlier than many others and getting to enjoy a fairly empty boat (and snag a deal at the spa) in addition to having an awesome adventure.

You will have time to eat. Disney will open up the Buffett early so people with early excursions can eat and have time to get back to your room to poop, wash up, brush teeth put on sunscreen etc.

Forgot to ad the breakfast hang-tag for room service is a great way to get everyone fed on an early excursion morning....let us sleep a bit longer as we could eat while getting dressed.

We went on a very early excursion in St. Thomas in August, it was a 2 site snorkelling tour that got to the sites by motor boat. Due to the early hour and the speed at which we reached the site, we got to snorkel with the sea turtles for at least 30-40 minutes before everyone else arrived. It was so very peaceful and quiet and an amazing experience. Once the other boats started arriving, the turtles seemed more scarce and there was no longer any peace. Thankfully after 45 minutes we got back on board the boat and went to our second site. So glad we got up early! Cabanas was open very early to accommodate those with early excursions and we felt no rush to get some food in our belly before heading to our meeting spot.
