Hi Everyone,

I just joined this board and I think its great! I have a question..DH and I are going to WDW in September and I will be 6months pregnant then. I dont ride the roller coasters anyway but like the slower rides (peter pan, snow white, pirates, etc) and do you think I will have a problem riding these? I know the signs say to ride at your own risk, but being visibly pregnant will any of the CM tell me I cant ride? I know its kind of a silly question BUT I dont want to get there and find out that I cant ride the ones I like to.

Also, DH is concerned about my growing belly and if that will cause problems with the bars that come over your legs. Also, any advice for pregnant women in WDW would be great! I havent been able to find much about it--maybe its not a big deal??!! Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Looking foward to September!
Thanks!

I've gone to Disney World twice when I was pregnant, at 5 month and 6 months. It wasn't really that big a deal. Just use common sense. You say you don't like rollercoasters anyway so I don't think you'll miss out on all that much. Obviously, Tower of Tower, Test Track, and Spaceship Earth will be no-no's, and even the Kilimanjaro Safari (only because it's so bumpy). I don't think you'll have any problems with the lap bars. On the slower rides they don't really come down all that tight on you anyway. I think you'll still enjoy yourself, just stay cool and wear comfy shoes. Have fun!

The last time we went in 2002 I was 6 months pregnant and had a great time. I was able to ride everything except coasters & rides like that. I even rode Kali (would not recommend it though). I must have overlooked that part where they have that small drop at the end.

We went in the middle of August too. Just take breaks when you need them, drink plenty of water and wear comfortable shoes. I did check with my doctor just to be on the safe side, but I did not have any issues with my pregnancy.

Good Luck! You'll have a ball.

I too went when I was six months along, and still had a great time. There are still a lot of things you can do, and MGM is full of shows to watch(and no lap bars to worry about!). I did get tired more easily, so I took an afternoon nap and relaxed in the pool in the afternoon. I also had trouble with my feet swelling, so keep an eye on that. Sometimes you just have to sit and prop up your feet for a while. Drink lots of water, and you will stay cool and hydrated. I know that you will still have a great time.

I was 4 months along when we went in 2003-- I would recommend the Unofficial Guide-- it is very helpful so you can plan ahead on which rides and attractions are safe.

You may also want to check www.allearsnet.com-- there is a section on this, but I haven't read it recently!

have a great trip and good luck with your baby!

I went when I was 6 months preggo with ds#1 and at 7 1/2 months preggo with ds#2 and had a blast both times! Like someone else said...use common sense. I did make the mistake of riding Kilamanjaro's Safari when I was 7 1/2 months along and felt quite queezy after. I definately would not recommend that one. And if you see, "It's Tough To Be A Bug" make sure you kind of lean forward when the stinger thing comes out of the back of the chair. I hadn't seen it before and didn't know about that part and when that thing hit me in the back it sent me flying forward which hurt my tummy so bad!!

Besides that, wear comfy shoes and drink LOTS and LOTS of water! It's so easy to become dehydrated any time, but especially when pregnant. Most of all HAVE FUN!!

Spaceship Earth? That thing goes maybe two miles an hour! Do you mean Space Mountain?

visit the Baby Center at the MK. It will come in handy in around 3 months.

My DSIL and I both just returned from WDW--she was 6 1/2 months and I was 4 1/2 months along. You will be able to ride more than you won't be able to ride. We did move a lot slower than normal. DSIL rode Kilamanjaro Safari and just requested to sit in the front where it is not so bumpy. Have a great time and best of luck with your pregnancy
