My DD 6 had been begging us to take to WDW ever since she mastered the potty. Yes I made the promise when she was 2 yrs old in the heat of training, if you master the potty I will take you to WDW. Well 4 yrs later that promise came true.

We began with a plan of 5 days and 4 nights at POP century using the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan. I planned and gathered so much information. Then my cousin turned me on to the DIS. Oh my life changed forever. Planning now became part of the fun. I became obsessed. I now own a Baggallini, lime green mickeys and have tons of plastic ziptop bags.

I will set this up in installments as I just got home.

Day One:
We woke at 5:30 am to catch a 9 am flight. Everything went very smoothly. No traffic on the road, the airport parking lot was empty. Got into the airport and there were no lines, we breezed thru security. Everyone saw my DD Mickey I had given her and they knew we were off to WDW.

More tomorrow....

We get into MCO on time. Our luggage made it! Huge kudos to Air Tran. We find our shuttle bus to Hertz's Simply Wheelz. Really simple process. We walk into the building scan our reservation sheet swipe our cc and drivers license and your off to get your car. Very fast. We were used to #1 Gold thru Hertz. This took a little longer but went smoother. Get to the car. It was a 2007 Honda Accord. Inside it was a little beat up, there was a cigarette burn in one of the seats. Otherwise it looked good.

At this point it was 2 pm our ressies for Cinderella's Royal Table were for 4 pm. We needed to move. We had to stop on the way to WDW to get something to eat. We stopped at the McDonalds outside Downtown Disney. Very disappointed in the service speed. We ate and were on our way to Pop Century.

Check in at Pop was very easy. No wait in line. However the magical express pulled in behind us so there as a line behind me Got our room key and we were off to the 60's building. Great location. We would be close to the pool and the main building. Only complaint was we had to park so far from our room. Guess that was a trade off for being so close to the main building and the buses.

Since our ressie was at 4 pm and it was now 3:30 we needed to move. We decided to drive to the MK. Good choice we thought. We got into the MK parking lot at 3:45 pm. I somehow forgot we had to cross Bay Lake to get to the MK. We hopped on the Tram and ran to TTC. We missed the monorail. We thought we were out of luck. We got to the top of the ramp and said out loud we will get to be in the first car. A CM over heard us say that and asked do you want to sit in the very front? Of course we do!! So we were christened Monorail Pilots. What a way to start a 6 year olds first Disney Experience. During the ride over I realized we had been rushing for nothing our ressie was for 4:30 pm , We had an extra half hour!

Next time: CRT, trading pins, wishes and road construction Disney style...

Looking forward to reading more. I've recently become a disboard addict :worship: We're doing the DxDDP in October :cool1: so I'm looking forward to your thoughts on restaurants.

Hi Laura! I'm along for the ride, too! I love that your DD got to be a monorail pilot already!

CRT, Wishes and Road Construction

Since I discovered we have half hour before our ressies at CRT. We take our time walking up Main St. We hit the photopass guys and have lots of first pictures taken. We see the evil step sisters DD didn't want her picture taken with them so I snapped a shot with some random child in it and figured I'd crop her out.

Then into the castle we go. We don't wait long to have our picture taken with Cinderella. Then up the windy staircase. DD comments on the pins that the CM are wearing. Now I am thinking why didn't I get her pins before I got here. Oh well. The CM hears her say that she really likes the Cinderella pin. I tell her if she had pins she could trade with the CM and when dinner is done we will go get pins and a lanyard. Another CM hears this and gives DD a pin so she could trade. I was so amazed that he would do that. I thanked him. DD trades for the Cinderella pin and the CM says oh you can have both of them. DD was over the moon with excitement.

We get seated at our table. We sat there for a while before our server came over. We ordered and got out pretzel bread. OMG that was delicious with the honey mustard nut butter spread. DH and I ordered the prime rib and DD ordered chicken nuggets. I was not impressed with the kids menu but I figured we where there for the atmosphere not the food. Got our prime rib. It was cold and really didn't have a lot of flavor and DD chicken was chunks of breaded chicken. Food to me was C-. Then the show began . First the 2 mice came around. They stopped so we could take the pictures very friendly. Then FairyGodmother came out and began to sing. We couldn't help but sing a long. Very cute. I can't remember if we had desert at this point or not. Either way we ordered chocolate buckle. It was a fancy muffin with chocolate and cream cheese. Wouldn't order that again. DD had the sundae. She loved it. Finished up and the server asked how we liked and we replied we liked it. He said you'd better for the price this deal costs. We got our receipt and he over charged us. It was supposed to be 6 meal credits and he charged us for 8. Wasn't too happy but I let it slide, I didn't want to waste the time (Concierge at POP got it corrected.)

We get into the park. We had a hard time deciding what to do first. I let my plan of plotting out a course in the park go before we got there. In my mind I had a plan but told myself to be flexible. DD sees Dumbo and says we have to ride that. The wait is less than 15 min. I say lets go. I remind DH that I get sick on round and round rides so he was stuck going.

Then we hit Snow White. Again hardly any wait. I am really happy with the choice to go in May. We wonder around Fantasy Land a bit and hit a store for DD to get lanyard and pins. She is excited to trade. She said she will start trading tomorrow. We decide we should hit Jungle Cruise. We head over there and grab a fast pass as the wait is 40 min. We truck over to Swiss Family Robinson. For some reason I remember that as a neater attraction when I was little. DD was really bored. DH called it the line ride.

We work our way to Pirates. It's closed. Something happened. CM wasn't sure when it would open again. Off we go towards Splash Mtn and Big Thunder Mtn RR. We hit BTMRR first. The wait was 5 min. Again great!

Then DD begs us to go on Splash Mtn. We were hesitant at first but the line was so short we figured what the heck. Well half way thru the line I realized I had no way to protect my backpack that has the camera, phone and our pictures from CRT. Oh well. I know the photos will be on my photopass. We continue on. Now I did my research and knew full well that I would get wet but in the heat of the excitement I forgot this. DD loved the big drop. We all came off of that sopping wet. It was a warm night. The backpack fared well. I sat on it and it was dry. DH and I were on the outside and DD in the middle. She was dry, not a drop on her. She thought it was funny that Mom and Dad were wet.

We head back to Jungle Cruise. It's now 8 pm. We go back past Pirates and the wait is 10 min. Great. We did it. DD wasn't impressed. We had a young boy (10yrs old) who whined and cried thru the whole ride. He was over tired and didn't want to ride it. I did like the improvements they made to the ride though.

We finally get to the Jungle Cruise. We are the last boat of the night. I always love the fact that the CMs really joke around on this ride. Ours was especially punchy since we were the last boat. DD got spooked when the Elephants popped out of the water.

We make our way to Main Street. Wishes is in 20 min. DH says lets go and we can catch them later. I said we are already here lets wait. So we find a great spot by the Walt and Mickey statue. DD gets a Mickey Mouse light saber. Our spot was great. I started to cry thinking that my youngest DD isn't here to see this. I realized we have to come back for her. to have this experience. DD is loving it. We make our way out of Main St when it is over. DD really wants to ride the boat so we do. Not a bad wait. DD is getting tired. She starts to whine and complain. She is wayyy over tired. We get across the lake and catch the tram to the car. Off we go to Pop. DH says only 10 min we will be in bed. HAHAHAH.

We struggle to get out of the MK lot. Traffic is horrible. More stop than go. We cannot figure for the life of us what is going on. No signs of an accident. We make it pass the Hess Station and begin to see flashing orange lights. We figured some one had an accident. Nope. Continue on, now there are construction cones. And we see a sign saying lane ends. Turns out that the 4 lanes outside of MK go into one lane. They are resurfacing the road. AGGHHHHH. It took us over an hour to get back to POP. At this point DH carried DD to room and puts her to sleep with her clothes on. We will be using transportation from now on.

Day 2 BBB,the stroller and a crazy DISer.

Laura, I'm glad you threw that in. For a minute, I was thinking staying at Pop or something with a rental car would be just as good for DH's nerves - maybe not so much!

I'm just anxious to hear who the "crazy DISer" is! :rotfl2:

Mmmmm ........ I wonder who it can be?:scratchin

Great report, Laura. And don't feel bad about your youngest not being there; I'm sure your older DD loved having you and her dad all to herself! Like you said, now you have an excuse to go back.
