Going for 6 nights and staying at the Swan with my 2.5 yo niece, so we are staying mostly in that area for dinner once we get back from the parks.

Night 1 - Il Milino
Night 2 - Blue Zoo
Night 3 - Bistro De Paris
Night 4 - Narcoossee's
Night 5 - Shula's
Night 6 - Flying Fish

Also taking my niece to Chef Mickey's for breakfast one morning and then another character breakfast at the Swan. Rest of the breakfasts and lunches are by ear, mostly snacking lightly in the parks. Maybe hit up Coral Reef for her to see the aquarium, but I dont think too many sit downs...

Night 4 it was between Narcoossee's, California Grill and Citrico's. We wanted a place with easy access to MK for the night parade and fireworks.

Night 6 we are watching an 4pm football game at ESPN Club, most likely. So we figured we could head over to Flying Fish right after.

Please let me know what you think...good and bad!

Any advice is appreciated. Also, if you think I am missing out on a great restaurant, throw it out there!

We are heading back in March. And, like I said, we are staying in that area for dinner simply for the convenience.

Thanks in advance!

Well, it looks like you have picked some very lovely restaurants. My only question/concern would be: will your niece be ok at these places? Some of the restaurants you listed, like Blue Zoo, are very gourmet & very upscale. You might want to just make sure that there is a food option for your niece and that your niece will be able to handle the atmospheres (i.e. avoiding a meltdown at a signature restaurant, other guests yelling during the game at ESPN that might upset her).

You might want to just double check these menus to make sure they have choices for her to eat.

Also, unless you like the menu, you might want to skip the Coral Reef. We had an ADR here for our last trip but we ended up cancelling it because we saw SO much of the fish tanks from just walking around the Living Seas pavilion.

BUT, if you are looking for a real treat for her, you might consider breakfast or dinner buffet at Boma (in AKL). It's only a 5 minute bus ride from DAK and she might really get a kick out of seeing the zebras and giraffes at the savannah viewing areas! She might even find this more exciting than the Coral Reef aquarium!

Well, we will probably get her room service when we go back to the hotel to change for dinner, depending on the restaurant that evening.

As long as she has people to watch, she is very good in restaurants.

Coral Reef will be iffy for lunch. I read a few bad reviews. Its more about the atmosphere for that selection. We might just get apps or something small. Dinner is the main thing for us on vacation!

ESPN Club is more for my brother and I. Our mother is coming on the trip and will probably watch a bit of the game and then take my niece for a stroll or shopping on the boardwalk or epcot some...

Boma sounds nice. But, we are spending a day at AK. So she will get some of the sights in...

Again, we are heading back in March. So, there is no rush getting everything in this trip!

Thanks for the insight!

Not sure about those Coral Reef reviews, but here is mine:

Grandma, Auntie and 6yo for lunch at the end of Aug 007:
6yo had kids pizza
Auntie had BBQ Salmon sandwich (I don't really like BBQ)
Grandma had Talapia

There was NOT A THING left on the table. We ate everything including 2 baskets of bread. The food was really good. The service was also good and of course the aquarium was really cool. The give the kids an activity sheet that allows them to check off the different sea life they see in the tank; a fun and educational. We'd return to CR without hesitation.

Narcoossee's was the best meal of the trip: location, food, service. :thumbsup2

The one thing I'd say is you have a lot of dinner "event" meals. I'm not sure I'd want that every night. Very good food and meals, but not as relaxing as I'd like on vacation, especially after a day in a hot park.

Well, it sounds like you have everything very thought out with your niece! Then I think everything sounds great! She will enjoy the Boardwalk-you may have your mom take her to see the pools at the BCR & BWI. Or a snack at the BW Bakery. There are also little carnival games & entertainers walking around.

For day 4, you might consider looking into the Cali Grill. You'll get an amazing view of Wishes Fireworks if you time it right. I think they pipe in the music as well. If you are planning to catch Wishes at the park, there is a very convenient walking path to MK from CR & the monorail option as well. I think the CR is the closest resort to MK.

As for the others, I've heard rave reviews for all except for Bistro de Paris I've seen mixed reviews.

Have a wonderful trip!! :goodvibes

Thanks for the info on the Coral Reef! You definitely changed my mind. I'm almost sure we will stop in for a small bite and let my niece see the sights!

I wouldnt consider them "event" meals. Food is a big part of our vacation. We used to own some restaurants, including a prime steakhouse. So, we love more fine dining establishment than just the typical everyday selections.

I was considering California Grill...definitely next time to watch the fireworks! I really just wanted to be in near MK, so I can get to the park and watch the parade and fireworks that night! I liked the menu better at Narcoossee's and I still just have to take the monorail to MK!

We always seem to hit up Bistro! I guess it reminds us of the real Paris! But, its just a more elegant atmosphere than the other WS restaurants.

Thanks for the info!

For an even better treat take the boat from the MK transportation center over to the Grand Floridian. It let's you off right outside of Narcoossee's and is a really pleasant ride. Taking the monorail back is a more direct route (boat will stop at the Poly before MK) and will give you a chance to stroll through the GF.

Thanks for this tidbit!

Will definitely take the boat to dinner and then monorail back, unless we have time, to see the parade and fireworks!
