Day Three Saturday May 10
Weather low 90s and Sunny in Fla, Cloudy and Showers at Home!
It makes it easier to leave just knowing that we will be back in a year. I have lots of planning to do after we get home. And the first on the agenda is mount the Doom Bugy license plate!
Reflections and things I would do differently next time:
1.I would definitely stay at CSR cabanas again. Our location was convenient to both bus stop and Dig Site. Resort grounds are beautiful.
2.I wouldnt bother bringing beach towels (I didnt know you can get them at hotel pool) Definitely would save space in the luggage! And to rent them for $1 each at the waterparks is worth it!
3.Dinner ressies at 5:45 or so worked out for us. There was enough time to get back to the hotel in the early afternoon for a break or swim, yet we didnt feel rushed to get back out the door for dinner.
4.I brought diaries for my kids to write in each day. Best thing I could have done. It will be a precious keepsake for years to come. DS drew pictures of the Tower of Terror and Fantasmic. I taped our room cards, their Disney Bus Transportation Licenses and their one-day tickets to Blizzard beach in them as a memento.
5.We paid for a full tank of gas ahead of time while signing for the rental car. Saved us hassle on the way to the airport where I really didnt see any gas stations nor did I want to stop.
6.It would have been a good idea to start walking long distances in preparation for touring the parks. My 60-something parents werent even complaining about sore feet because they golf every day.
7.A clothes tree that my parents brought worked great in the room to dry wet bathing suits we simply placed it under the fan in our room and by the time we got back in the evening, the suits were mostly dry.
8.Midday breaks were essential to us having a pleasurable trip.
9.Staying in the resort is our only way to go. Ill never stay offsite again, no matter how much money I save. You just cant put a price on getting in an air conditioned bus at the end of a long hot day, as opposed to getting in a 100-degree hot car and having to drive! All these hotels that say they are at the gate of Disney Ha. First, you have to drive miles even to GET to the parking lot. Then til you take a tram to the Monorail or Ferry station then get on the Monorail or Ferry over how much time have you spent?
10.I would make my kids wear their watershoes in Blizzard Beach, even though they dont like to. The concrete is way too hot especially around the locker and Lottawatta Lodge area.
11.I would spend a extra day just as a rest day at the hotel. CSR has bikes, surrey bikes, and all kinds of boats you can rent we didnt have time to take advantage of that. There are many trails and of course the pool is all the entertainment my kids need!
Well thats my trip! We had a GREAT time We saw and did a lot! And thanks to everyone on this board for all the helpful advice! Hope you liked my report.
