6-17-2011 Dream Cruise

Due to the plane not arriving until 11am, I choose 1:30-2:00 check in..

Yes we need to pick a meeting time and place.. What time is everyone thinking?

I didn't know we had a choice to board. I booked through AAA and wasn't asked about boarding time. Wondering if I can call DCL and find out?

Michele, I don't think it is a boarding time, I think you choose your "check-in" time if you log in to disneycruise.com. Basically, you put in your flight information, passport numbers and emergency contact numbers. A screen pops up at the end where you choose your check-in time. We plan on driving down the day before so we picked the earliest time available, which I think was 11:00-11:30. I think there was a 10:30 time, but it was already full. Once you check in at the port, you will be given a boarding number. Boarding usually starts at 12:30 or 1:00.

I think we should meet just before the lifeboard drill. If it is at 4:00, let's meet 45 minutes before, at 3:15.

Here are some places we have met folks in the past:

1. In a lounge. Easy to find, no one is in there that time of day. Quiet and the easy to talk and introduce ourselves.

2. Just outside the 11-13 year old kids' club THE EDGE. Again easy to find each other, but once the kids meet, they can go in to the club together for the Open House.

Ha ha, I don't think I have ever quoted myself before.:rotfl:

I think I like meeting outside of EDGE at 3:15. Is that good for everyone?

That sounds good to me too. :thumbsup2 Going back to the question of when we expect to arrive, we are coming in the day before and despite all I have read on the boards I will probably be at port as soon as they let me though the doors. I can't wait to be on that ship!:woohoo:

I cant say enough, I love that our girls are all getting a chance to get to know each other before the cruise:yay: Both my girl are looking forward to meeting everyone:banana:

My daughter is too!!! :cool1:

We arrive on June 14 (3 days before the cruise). :cool1::banana::woohoo::yay::dance3:

May 1st, is the "Day" for the full-force planning to begin. I have to take a small (really small) break because of state testing here. But after that it is downhill!!!

While, I am excited, I just cant really get into it until we get our room assignments. Still GTY Category 8C. So for now we will just popcorn:: and see.

Has anyone else gotten their assignments yet? Probably not yet but I suspect that in the coming weeks, it will be there.

Okay now I have to ask:) What does it mean to have GTY?

Not a problem. It means Guarantee. Meaning that we do not have an actual room assignment just yet, but we will before we leave (hopefully) :rotfl2: Just kidding, we will :goodvibes
